  • Can I upgrade my processor and graphics card in my HP Pavilion g6-2244sa Notebook PC?

Hi I bought this laptop 2 years ago for gaming purposes and school work. I was told by the shop assistant that it can run most fo your big games such as Call Of Duty and FIFA. Well frankly i was lied to and this laptop struggles to even play the simplest game Minecraft a game about pixelated blocks that you destroy and place and this can't even run it I am very annoyed about this and seeing if i can upgrade the machine never crossed my mind until now. So i am asking to see if it would be possible to upgrade the Hardware of this machine mainly the processor and graphics card, here are the specs of my laptop:
Processor- AMD E2-1800 APU w/ Radeon HD graphics (2CPUs) (1.80)GHz
Graphics Card - AMD Radeon HD 7340G
    RAM - 8Gb
    Memory - 1Tb
Now I am wondering if this machine's processor and graphic's card can be upgraded and if so what would be the price of it and where would be the best place and if the cost is too much would i be better off buying a new machine?
If you need more specs reply with the ones you need and i'll get them for you thank you for the help!

Put this way if that system isn't costing you 2,000US or more then it will not play Call Of Duty and FIFA regardless of what the store sales person says. To play those games your laptop has to fall into the catgory called "Gaming Laptop" Specs and those come with cost and weight to show for it. Your laptop is only good at low games resolution and will not handle graphics intensive games. Those requires Gaming Laptop specs those cost money to be had. So if you still want to Game COD style you need to put down the cash for serious Game Laptop to perform under pressure. Forget about upgrading your current system what you want is a Serious Gaming Laptop if your going to play COD.

  • Can you upgrade ENVY m7-k111dx graphics card

I am wondering if i can upgrade my ENVY m7-k111dx graphics card higher then the NVIDIA 840m, if yes what is the best graphics card i can use.  Im also want to know if i can use two hard drives in my laptop
    This question was solved.

    Here is the Service Manual:
    Manual
There is a single slot for a regular full sized SATA hard drive. However, you can add a hard drive by giving up the DVD drive and using an adapter. Or, there is a slot on the motherboard for an M.2 mSSD hard drive but installing a drive there takes serious disassembly.
There is a version of the motherboard with 850M 4 gigabyte video but to get it you would have to find one of those motherboards and replace it for yours. Again, a very difficult and expensive process.

  • Can i upgrade my graphics card in my HP envy 17-j102tx?what can i upgrade in this laptop?

HEllo sir,i bought this laptop for gaming purpose, but the graphics card ie nvidia 750M is too weak for gaming.so can i upgrade its graphics card?if no,is there any other option?can i exchange my laptop for a new laptop?because im totally unsatisfied with this laptop.and what can i upgrade in this laptop except ram.please help

HP actually loaned me a very similar laptop last year...an Envy 17-j029nr that had the 750M graphics and while the video was way above average, it was not a true gaming laptop. HP is not going to accept it back in trade after you have used it but it can be sold still for a decent sum and you can use the proceeds to buy a gaiming laptop. You might consider the HP Omen. It has nVidia 860 graphics with up to 4 gigs of DDR5 I believe for maybe $2200 all in. Right now I have the lower model Omen on loan from HP but mine is the version with the DDR3 video memory. It is much stronger than the 750M video in my old loaner.  Oh, and there is no way to upgrade what you have. The 750M was the best video offered in that model line. It is soldered to the motherboard so there is no "card" to remove and replace.  if this is "the Answer" please click "Accept as Solution" to help others find it.

  • Can I hook up a laptop connect card to iPad?

okay, i want to make sure of this - if i get a Wifi iPad can I hook up a laptop connect card so i can have a connection no matter if i'm in a wifi hotspot or not? From what i understand there is no usb connections but i hear there may be a camera connect or some other piece of hardware i can attach to the ipad to allow for this? anyone? thanks.

Sorry, but it won't work. The camera connector kit doesn't provide enough power for a USB modem, and there is no way to install the required drivers at the OS level on an iPad.

  • Should I update my laptop graphics card or is it possible?

Should I update my laptop graphics card or not? Is it possible to do so? Please help
My laptop model is HP Probook 4441s

    You're very welcome.
Your notebook has switchable graphics...an Intel UMA graphics chip which uses shared system memory, and an AMD Radeon HD 7650M graphics chip, which uses discrete graphics memory.
The AMD GPU with its discrete graphics memory are still chips soldered and integrated on the motherboard.
That's what it means.  You assumed it was a removable card, and it is not.
There is no reference to a graphics card in your model on any of the official HP specifications for your notebook.

    Note on page 7...
    GRAPHICS
    Integrated:
    Intel HD Graphics 4000 (3nd Generation Intel Quad-Core i7; Dual-Core i5 and i3)
    Intel HD Graphics 3000 (2nd Generation Intel Dual-Core i5 and i3)
Intel HD Graphics (2nd Generation Intel Celeron configurations)
    Discrete:
AMD Radeon™ HD 7650M, with 1 GB and 2 GB dedicated DDR3 video memory
I don't see anything there about a graphics card, do you?

  • Can't find recent driver for graphic card (display) cyberaladdin trident

I can't find recent driver for graphic card (display) cyberaladdin trident.
The game play with game Warcraft III.
    I downloaded directX 9
I managed to install the game but I can't play it.
My display card is Trident Cyberaladdin-T. The game producer told me it is compatible. I tried to find drivers but I haven't find anything efficient. On toshiba site there a driver but quite old (previous to the date I bought the computer...)
I don(t knox what to do and my son is very disappointed because he can't play with this new game.
    Thanks for your quick answer.

    Hi,
At first it would be interesting to know for which Operating System your need this driver ? ;)
Well this Chipset Trident CyberALADDiN-T ( called Napa2T ) was build in three Notebook Types of Toshiba.
The Satellite 6000, TE2000 and the Satellite 6050. ( Driverversion all with Version 5.01.2527.0128 )
Normally the drivers you find on the manufacturer Pages are not the actual drivers. They only update the drivers if there are known problems.
So the only chance for you is to look threw the internet and look if someone else has used this graphic chip, and delivers are newer driver than Toshiba.
Sorry for the answer, but I had same problem with my Machine, but found a newer driver revision on another manufacturer page.
    bye

  • Can I upgrade my Sony Laptop's Graphic Card?

My laptop is relatively new and I only bought it a few months ago, model #VPCEB. It currently has a 512 MB ATI Radeon HD 5470 which I want to upgrade so I can have StarCraft II run smoothly because it is kind of choppy right now. I just want to know, is there a way I can actually upgrade my computer and what would be a good graphics card?

It used to be that some laptops would come with 2-3 options of graphics chipsets, and you could swap between them, plus manufacturers might use the same form factor for a series of laptops (For example, all Dell Inspiron 8000 series units used the same card form factor - so you could upgrade an I8000 to the graphics chipset that came with the I8200).  This is no longer the case, even the highend gaming laptops don't have upgradeable graphics.

  • Can I upgrade my laptop Graphic Card

I have a HP DV6 B1N18EA, its has the nividia geforce 630m 2 gb detecated, I need a better graphic card to upgrade it. So can anyone please tell me if i can

    Hi,
Basically you can, with a cost and I believe this cost may be more expensive than buying a new computer because you have to take into account:
New card price,  and WHERE you can buy it because laptop cards are not the same as desktop cards. You can't buy from any normal shop,
Need new system board (may be),
Need new cooling system because generally speaking more powerfull card pumps out more heat (you want more powerfull card don't you?).
May need new PSU because your current PSU may not suitbale to the card. (I ordered a machine with Nvidia card and I needed to order a 90W charger at the same time, not the normal 65W charger. They simply rejected my order).
    Labor cost.
    Many, many packets of Asprin.
    Hope this helps.

  • Can i upgrade my cq 42 227tu laptop graphic card

i have compaq presario cq 42 227tu notebook , and i want to install graphic card on my laptop . so its possible or not please reply with all technical specification.

Assume your version has intel intergrated graphics, no upgrade is possible to the motherboard.
Only option would be finding another better spec motherboard from HP/Compaq range that may fit your notebook chassis.
Balanced on cost & probably minimal gain a newer machine is best option really.

  • Is my laptop (HP Pavilion 17-e054ca) upgradable to a new graphics card??

The details about my laptop can be found here
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?product=5403386&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en
It has an inbuilt ati radeon 8670m graphics card...but it's not sufficient for my gaming needs. I was wondering if my laptop has the capability to be upgraded to a better nvidea graphics card. Can I install another graphics card at its place and still make the system perform normally. Would it have any compatability issues??
I want to know the details of how it could be done? Also suggest some good graphics card from nvidia.
    Thank YOu !!

    Hi:
Your notebook does not have a removable graphics "card."
The graphics processing units are soldered to the motherboard and cannot be upgraded or replaced.
Your model has the best graphics solution offered, so if it isn't going to meet your needs, you will have to consider selling or trading your notebook in for one with the graphics solution you want.

While it is possible, doing so is in direct violation of Apple's EULA. It is illegal. As others have said, search before posting. Furthermore, Apple has designed OSX for a known set of hardware that they design themselves. If you do manage to get it installed, it likely won't work as advertised.
Given your current setup, I would suggest that you try to sell off your current laptop and get an MacBook Air (or MacBook Pro if you can get enough from your laptop). The MacBook Air currently starts at just under 1k - or just over for the larger screen.
Would you mind providing your working budget?

  • Laptop Graphics card

well it says i have a Standard VGA Graphics Adapter and i was wondering if i can upgrade the graphics card. because imy trying to play games i bought but it wont because of the card

    Hi:
If you are seeing a standard vga adapter, that means the graphics driver is not installed, which is why the graphics in your notebook isn't working up to par.
See if installing this graphics driver resolves the problem.
