Can I upgrade my imovie 9 in my mac 10.6.8 ?

I have a Macbook pro 10.6.8 with imovie 09. I tried to upgrade the imovie  by purchasing it on app store but it says that I need to have Mac OS X 10.10... so... how can I upgrade any of these two? I need to do a wedding video for my best friend!!!!Thank you!!

Does your MBP meet the requirements?
OS X Yosemite Requirements
MacBook Air (late 2008 or later)
MacBook (late 2008 aluminum or later)
MacBook Pro (mid 2007 or later)
iMac (mid 2007 or later)
Mac mini (early 2009 or later)
Mac Pro (early 2008 or later)
Xserve (early 2009)
2 GB RAM minimum (I recommend a minimum of 4 GB of RAM)
8 GB of drive space minimum. For basic installation, with only the default apps plus one or two of your own favorites, then 16 GB is a practical minimum.
If it does you download and installed Yosemite OS X 10.10 from the the App Store.
Backup first.

So, just so I have this straight; would CS upgrade to CS5 or did you mean I would have to purchase CS5 to upgrade to CS6? And If so, does CS upgrade any further? i.e. CS 3 or 4? Thanks for your reply --
CS will not upgrade to CS5. Historically, only CS2-CS4 ever qualified for upgrade to CS5. Those versions are all long superseded and no longer available from Adobe.
Adobe currently only sells CS6 (for outright purchase) and the Cloud (by subscription only). Cloud members have access to both CS6 and CC.
The only way to upgrade to CS6 is from CS5. Adobe no longer sells CS5. Unless you purchase the full version of CS5 from elsewhere (I don't see any point in that in this case) you would not be able to upgrade to CS6. You'd have to buy the full version of CS6. Or subscribe to one of the Cloud plans. PS+LR is an excellent deal if you use those products.

  • How can I upgrade from iMovie 7.4.1 while running Mac OSX 10.7.5?

I am trying to upgrade iMovie 7.4.1, but I don't know where to get the next version of the software.
I am currently running OSX 10.7.5 on a 2008 iMac.
    Thanks.

With the above listed config that I have (iphoto 7.1.5 on an older iMac running OSX 10.6.8), how can I move my iPhoto library from this old iMac (2006) to my NEW iMac (2011) that is running iPhoto 9.5.1 ?
To open an iPhoto 7.1.x version in iPhoto '11 you need to run the iPhoto Library Upgrader. See this Support document:
iPhoto '11: About the Library Upgrade
Download and install the upgrader,  then run it on your iPhoto 7.1.5 library. After that, iPhoto will be able to open your library and upgrade it to version 9.5.1. And you will be able to merge the libraries with if Library Manager.

  • Can I upgrade my MacBookPro mid 2007 to Mac OS ML?

I bought my mac in mid 2007 but how to be sure it belongs to the supported MacBookPro?
The webside http://www.appleserialnumberinfo.com/ tells me the latest supportet sytem is Lion 10.7.4 (which I am using).
How can I figure out if an upgrade would be good (in tearms of performance) or not?
    Thanks for any help,

Open App Store and buy 10.8. If the Mac isn't supported, you will see an error. Before install, do a backup and check that your apps are supported http://www.roaringapps.com

  • Can I upgrade the Hard Drive on my Mac Mini (Late 2012)?

I bought a Late 2012 Mac Mini from Fry's. This was a mistake, never again.
Back to the point. I have 1Tb of HDD. My hope is that upgrading that to a Fusion Drive will improve performance. Is it even available for a box I already own (and acquired from an infidel)? If so, how much will that cost?

mrdwongsf this discussion concerns the late 2102 Mini. That model has two SATA connectors on the logic board. You seem to be discussing the 2014 Mini which, only has one STA port and one PCIe port as you describe
    mrdwongsf wrote:
From iFixit's breakdown, it's not that simple or not possible because they removed the SATA port from the motherboard, but you should be able to install a PCIe SSD (blade-style). They have not verified that mod yet.

  • Can you upgrade the memory on a new mac mini

If I purchase a new mac mini can I add more ram later

No. You are stuck with whatever is on the board at time of purchase. You can choose 4, 8, or 16 GBs.

If you do not have the Mac Pro I would find a 2008 or later but preferably, a 2009 or later one.

  • Can i upgrade from elements 2.02 (Mac)?

I have an ancient version of Photoshop Elements 2.02 for the Mac.  Can I upgrade to Elements 10 for the Mac or do I have to buy an entirely new version?
Will Elements 10 for the Mac allow me to save in PDF and/or EPS?
    Thanks.

You can usually buy the regular version for a lot less than the upgrade if you shop around but yes, any registered version qualifies for the upgrade.
You can create a PDF in any program on a mac, and yes, PSE 10 lets you save as EPS.

  • I've already purchased iMovie 9.0.6 on my computer, but i can't upgrade it. it said there is available update on another account, but i just got one account on my computer...

I've already purchased iMovie 9.0.6 on my computer, but i can't upgrade it. it said there is available update on another account, but i just got one account on my computer...

    Updates:
I found why the original backup file is not showing on iTunes. Becuase it is corrupted.
All other folders contains Infor.plist, Manifest.mbdb, Manifest.plist and Status plist files.
But the folder that contains origianal backup files does not have those files above.
I think the only way I can restore the data is using third party extracting software.
Do you know anything about that kind of software?

  • Why i can´t upgrade iMovie to 10.0.0.?

    hello,
Why I cant´t upgrade iMovie to version 10.0.0.?
I have version 8.0.6. and a MacBook Pro (end of 2008).
The App Store won´t show me the upgrade and it isn´t in the purchased-list.....
    What can I do?

The free upgrade to iMovie version 10 requires your machine have iMovie version 9 installed.
You have version 8 so the upgrade isn't free.
