Can I upgrade to 3g after buying Wifi only?
Having bought my Ipad with wifi only and not 3g, I am considering the 3g option now. Can anyone tell me am I able to upgrade now with my present Ipad?
Thanks Anita
I bought my Virgin Mobile Mifi in September and got unlimited for $25 per month. Was that an introductory offer?
I actually got it to use it with my pc, I have a 3G iPad. If I had the miff first, I probably would have not gotten 3G (from ATT) with the iPad. I have run speed tests with both providers and get different results at different times. Probably proximity to tower and load related.
Your results may vary.

Yyou will need a SIM card to activate it.
It does not have to be an active SIM card.
Once you have activated it, it should work just fine. -
I am using Iphone 4S. two days before i upgraded to IOS 7 and after this wifi is not working. Any one can help. Mani
Follow the steps in the article below:
http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1559
If after all steps the issue remains then book an appointment at an Apple Stor to have the iPhone evlauated and possibly replaced. -
I have a MAC Pro, OS X Lion, 10.7.5 with a 32 bit processor. I want to purchase Photoshop Adobe CS6 software which which requires a 64 bit processor. Can I upgrade my Mac to 64 bit or would it be less expensive/less trouble to just purchase a new computer?
All Xeon cpus are 64-bit.
64-bit kernel lets CS6 tasks address more than 3.5GB and can improve performance by as much as 15%.
Buy yourself some SSDs, took for a 6G PCIe SSD controller that really supports the Mac Pro 1,1 and use that for scratch, and an SSD for the system. FBDIMMs are cheaper though 8x4GB might not be to your liking.
Then wait for the 2nd revision of the "cylinder" to be 7,1 and put aside enough to pay for it outright or pick up a 2009 4,1 and plan to do some upgrades with it, they are going like hotcakes for under $900. -
After buying a used phone I cannot access my voicemail messages, how can I re-set or troubleshoot, it keep asking me for my mailbox number, can I reset the mailbox message on my phone ?
You need to contact your carrier to reset your voicemail. You should also wipe the phone if you haven't already: Settings/General/Reset - Erase all content and settings.

Can I tether my iphone to a wifi only iPad Air?
I can tehter my iPhone to my original iPad which was both wifi and 3G. I am thinking of buying an iPad Air. Could I tether my iPhone to a wifi only iPad Air? Or do I need to buy one with 3/4G capability?
If by tether you mean use your iPad's Wifi only internet connection on your Phone then no.
If by tether you mean use your Phone's cellular internet connection on your Wifi only iPad then yes.
The iPad does not need to be Cellular. If it is a cellular model it can share out its own internet connection, and would be redundant to connect to the phone to get an internet connection if it can already do so on its own through its own cellular connection.
If you want to allow your Wifi only iPad to use your Phone's cellular internet connection then yes it can be done on a Wifi only iPad.
Basically a cellular iDevice can share its cellular internet connection out to any Wifi device. A Wifi only device cannot share its internet connection. -
How can I use my iPad mini 2 wifi only as gps in my car?
can I blue tooth my iPhone 5C with iPad mini 2 wifi only and use my iPad as a gps in my car?
Take a look at iOS: Understanding Personal Hotspot Your cellular carrier needs to support this feature and may charge extra, on top of your normal data plan.

Can longer open Photoshop7.0 after buying Leopard
Just bought 10.5.4 direct from Apple. After installing, upgraded to 10.5.5 immediately as available.
Was happily using 10.3.9 but keen to use e-drawing, so had to upgrade & ordered the only system software available to buy, but can no longer use my Photoshop 7.0 - won't load because of program error - any ideas why or how to resolve as an essential tool for me?Tiger can be found at various Mac reseller sites but it has become more difficult. One of my customers decided to upgrade his iBook to Tiger this summer having decided it was too underpowered for Leopard but not wanting to return to Panther. He wound up with a family pack, the only thing he could find at the time.
If you have the hard drive space, creating a minimal install of Panther just for Photoshop is doable. Should be able to fit the whole thing in well under 10GB. I've used Gimp and several other graphics programs...I'd find it difficult to switch from Photoshop. If you can't go the upgrade to CS4 (which is due out sometime soon) perhaps PS Elements will do. -
Can't upgrade AUR packages after removal of /var/lib/pacman/local
Hi guys, i accidentally deleted the content of /var/lib/pacman/local but fortunately i restored it following the wiki.
But, in this way, i only restored base packages and so no one of the packages i've installed from AUR is shown in the list of the installed packages....i thought to install them again one by one, but installation is not successful because files already exist and, beside this, i don't rember the name of all the AUR packages....
Any suggestion?
Thanks

Unless you have a backup of /var/lib/pacman/local, I think you're going to have to manually remove files provided by AUR packages, then reunstall them. Or you could try forcing the install (see man pacman), but take care not to break other packages in the process.
If it's useful to you, you can generate a list of files that pacman doesn't know about with:
find / -exec pacman -Qo -- {} + 2> /tmp/files >/dev/null
less /tmp/files
This will include cache files, user created files, etc. so don't just rm everything unowned by pacman.
That's what i thought to do but as i wrote i don't remember which are the aur packages, better still i remember just some of them...i tried your commands but i get a list of such strange things about cache etc...i can't see nothing concerning pacman....surely is a lack of mine....
However, following the wiki that i linked in the first post, i've got a list of all installed packages (base+aur):

Can't open a magazine after buying it
I bought a magazine but now I can't open it. Seems to try then goes back to picture of magazine
But WHY does the video file needs reference files ?
It was an export and I ask the exporter to make a self movie...
Realy I don't understand what's wrong.
Any cue ?
Since you end up with MOV files, it sounds like you may be using the "Export/QuickTime Movie..." option. If you then fail to set the "Make Movie Self-Contained" option, any content not specifically transcoded/rendered during the editing process will not be copied to the target file and will instead reference the source file containing the original unaltered data. To ensure your export files are non-dependent, simply check the "Make Movie Self-Contained" box option and all data will be copied to the new file but, depending on the length of your project, may take additional time to create the target export file. -
I, sadly like so many others, updated to the bug filled 5.0.1 and my phone had an error. I got the little link to iTunes and nothing else on my phone after it shut down. Once I did that I have an option to set up as a new phone or restore to my last sync (earlier in the day). I have run the restore three times and each time the phone goes through and shuts down. When it turns back on I have signal, 3G, contacts, text history, calendars, and photos as well as a few apps. Most of my apps are gone and my music library is empty. When I link the phone back to sync I get the same message as initially, that I need to set up as a new phone or restore.
I don't have time to go to an Apple Store to get this worked on and I'm pretty disgusted that Apple has been virtually silent on this matter. Most of the answers I have seen to the various problems people are reporting are coming from other users.
If anyone out there has an idea for me to try, please share. Apple if you're reading this you NEED to do something ASAP because I was planning on getting a new phone after the holidays but if I have to get one now it may not be another iPhone (which this is my third version of over the past 4 years) as I'm not spending the money on myself right before the holiday so it'll be free/discounted phone with updated contract for me, and we know Apple doesn't do that!!iTunes places the .ipsw file here:
OSX:
~/Library/iTunes/iPhone Software Updates
XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates
7 &Vista:
C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates
Find and delete any and all .ipsw files on your computer. There should only be one, but delete all that you find. Next, disable ALL firewalls & security software on your computer. Connect your phone, iTunes running & restore from backup. Follow this by syncing your content back to your phone.
This will force iTunes to re-download the .ipsw file, as I suspect yours is corrupt. -
i have the macbook pro 13" retina display. Can I upgrade my 8gb ram to 16gb? my processor is 2.5Ghz intel core i5
To save space on the computer, Apple has decided to solder the memory onto the logic board on the MacBook Pro with Retina display and the MacBook Air, and that's why you can't add more memory after buying the Mac. This only applies to these computers, not for the other ones

I have an 8 year old MacBook Air running OS X 10.6.8. Can it handle an upgrade to Lion and then to Snow Leopard or is hardware incapable. Additionally, I have a 3 year old Mac Mini running same OS X 10.6.8, with new solid state hard drive. Can I upgrade that one?
8 years old? Not likely. The first MBA was released in January 2008. It can be upgraded to Lion although it meets only the minimal specifications to run Lion. Snow Leopard would likely perform better than Lion on that hardware.
Lion System Requirements
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
2GB of memory
OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
7GB of available space
Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.
An Early 2009 Mac Mini is capable of running Mountain Lion.
Upgrading to Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99. To access the App Store you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later installed.
If you need to purchase Snow Leopard you can still purchase a copy from Apple's online store's telesales agents.[1-800-MY-APPLE (1-800-692-7753) or Customer Service and Sales Support at 1-800-676-2775.] Ask for a Sales Representative.
Third-party sources for Snow Leopard are:
Snow Leopard from Amazon.com
Snow Leopard from eBay
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store.
If you need to purchase Lion call 1-800-692-7753 or 1-800-676-2775. Ask for a Sales Representative. They will check your Apple ID, and email you a code and instructions. The cost is $29.99 (as it was before) plus tax. It's a download.
Be sure your computer meets the minimum requirements:
Apple - OS X Mountain Lion - Read the technical specifications.
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
Xserve (Early 2009)
Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table - RoaringApps - App compatibility and feature support for OS X & iOS.
