Can I Upgrade to CS5 At All?

Hi,
I have been running my Mac version of Creative Suite 2 Premium on both my iMac G5 running Tiger 10.4.11 as well as just the Photoshop & Bridge components on my MacBook Pro (Unibody Late 2009) running Leopard 10.5.8.
But I have now installed a complete and fresh install on the macbook pro of Snow Leopard 10.6.4, and this means that my copy of CS2 premium will not work on my macbook pro, not even with Rosetta
So, as i mainly use Photoshop 95% of the time, and i only use InDesign and Illustrator very occasionally, I can make do with them just on my iMac running Tiger, but I do need Photoshop.
So I want to know if I can use my CS2 suite to qualify for the upgrade to Photoshop CS5 (not the extended version) so that it would run on Snow Leopard.
Looking at the Photoshop page on Adobe store it states i can upgrade from "...Photoshop CS4 & CS3 extended versions, as well as Photoshop CS4, CS3, or Photoshop CS2..."
So does that mean my Photoshop CS2 component of Adobe Creative Suite 2 Premium will qualify for the upgrade, or am i stuffed. Because I cannot manage the full price of Photoshop CS5

Ooh that is painfull.
I will have to forget Photoshop & Adobe. Its too exspensive each time.
I bought Photoshop 6, then 7 Windows version, then CS 1 Premium Windows.
So when I moved to Apple comouters, I had to buy CS2 Premium.
No way will I pay full prices again.
So I will have to find an alternative.

Well, depends on what your CS5.5 actually is. If it came as a volume license, the upgrade terms would be determined by the specifics of the volume licensing model chosen... Anyway, that's way too specific. Contact sales support by phone or web chat to haggle things out.

Of this I'm positive: There will be no upgrades for InDesign CS6 (except if there were a security issue). Adobe never adds updates to an earlier version. The current version is InDesign CC. InDesign CS6 will always be as it is now.
What you may have read is that Adobe says it will keep selling InDesign CS6 for the forseeable future.

Just purchased CS5.5 upgrade (think it was a single user license) and have upgraded CS3 on my iMac. I also have 2 Mac Book Pro laptops. Can I upgrade to CS5.5 on both of those as well?

You can install upgrade on more than two computers. However, you can only ACTIVATE and use the upgrade on TWO computers. I believe there is a limit to the number of activations/deactivations you can do without calling Adobe Support.

I own Photoshop CS3, how can I upgrade to CS5 (or even CS6)?

As I say in the title, I own Photoshop CS3 and I heard you could upgrade to CS5 or CS6 from that version. I've looked online and I can't find anything, either the links are broken or they bring me to an irrelevant page.
If anyone has any insight please help me!
P.S., the hoops one has to go through just to ask this question... I am quite lost.

EDIT: I am using a Windows computer, by the way. Windows 8.

There are no longer any upgrades from CS3 to any later versions of Photoshop. CS3 is too old to qualify.
As a CS3 owner, you can however get a discounted monthly fee for the Cloud version. The discount lasts for 12 months. Then it's back to the regular monthly fee.

Yes, you can upgrade S&T editions by buying a commercial upgrade. Just make sure to pick the correct previous version during check-out or you'll get a serial number snafu...

Can I upgrade to CS5 from CS4 if CS4 is not on my computer?

I downloaded CS4 from the internet and ran it on my computer until the computer crashed and I had to install a new hard drive. I now have CS4 on a backup disk ONLY, and it won't install from the disk for some reason. I get this error message:

If I upgrade to CS5, does CS4 have to be on my new hard drive to do so? I DO have the registration number for my copy of CS4. I don't want to pay the full price for CS5 when I can pay for the upgrade only.

If you downloaded the CS4 product, then you can still access the download files from your Adobe account. Log in to your account and look under My Orders. (If you weren't able to deactivate the previous installation, you'll need assistance from a support agent before you can reinstall the CS4 software.)
However, you don't need CS4 installed in order to install the upgrade. You do, however, need the CS4 serial number.

Going back to CS6 instead of Creative Cloud. Can I upgrade from CS5?

Hi, I upgraded from CS5 to CC about a year ago, thinking my studio at work was doing the same.
Studio is using CS6 and I am finding Creative Cloud very expensive, so I'd like to revert back to CS6.
Do I have to buy this from scratch? Or can I upgrade to it from my CS5 which is still installed?
I'm finding the whole thing very confusing!

I have the student edition of CS5 Production Premium suite and Adobe Acrobat X Pro for Windows and I was wondering if there was a way to upgrade it to the CS6 Master Collection. If there is, how much would it cost? I would like to get InDesign and Dreamweaver. Or would it be easier to try to buy the two programs separate?

I saw that before, but I wasn't sure if it was an upgrade from the CS5 Master Collection or just anything CS5. Shouldn't the upgrade price vary depending on what collection of programs you have? Like shouldn't upgrading from the CS5 Master Collection be cheaper than upgrading from CS5 Production Premium? Will it change if I try to order it?

Can I upgrade my CS5 Encore to CS6 Encore?

Hello. My CS5 Encore has let me down. It keeps on forcing a Close Down after trying lots of options. When I get my movie into Encore timeline either via Dynamic Link or Media Encoder, the Monitor Panel is blank. If I then click the Play button, the whole program freezes and forces a Close Down. I am on Windows 7. I have tried both Bluray and MPEG2 formats in PAL.
I have the full CS5 Premiere Pro Suite and want to know if I can upgrade just the Encore part of the suite to CS6 and if so, how? I do not wish to subscribe to monthly CC payments so would really appreciate your feedback.

Hello Ann John and Richard and anyone else who may be interested in helping with my problem. I have re-installed and upgraded my Adobe programs. Some had errors so I quit and tried again 12hrs later. Same message, however, the errors only related to After Effects, Bridge, Extension Manager, Illustrator, Pixel Bender Toolkit, Flash Professional, Photoshop and Photoshop Camera Raw. Would there be any connection to my problem if these programs have not upgraded fully?
I have created a short video with audio and tried all of the export options through Dynamic Link and Media Encoder. I have Imported the movie into Encore also. Each time I can get the 1 minute movie into the Encore program. I can get the movie into the Timeline if I go File Export Timeline or if I go through Dynamic Link. I can't get it into the Timeline if I Export as an Asset, create a Timeline and try dragging the Video and Audio files down into the Timeline. On all of these options I am not able to see any of my movie in the Monitor Panel which is open-and that seems to be the issue. As soon as I attempt to get anything displayed in the Monitor Panel, Encore freezes and is forced to close down.
Hoping someone can help solve this problem as it is very very frustrating.

Not able to open Canon 6D raw file in PS CS5! Can i Upgrade from CS5 to CS6?

I recently purchased the Canon 6D. I'm running Photoshop CS5 on my windows computer. I want to work in Camera Raw but I need version CS6 in order to do so. I'm having great difficulty getting a link to purchase the upgrade. I need help, please.

I just want to point that out for ACR is the reason I signed up for the cloud. Which actually lowered my cost of Photoshop. I had always upgraded to Photoshop standard to get ACR. So Photoshop cost me the initial cost of Photoshop standard $700 and around $100 a year for upgrading.   Now Photoshop cost $120 a year but it for the extended version of Photoshop and I could also Lightroom if I wanted.
Some day maybe I will need Lightroom.   Adobe keep changing Photoshop removing features like Web Galleries and Picture Package, Add things to the Adobe Bridge like poorer Web Galleries and the export panel where panel convert image files to jpeg without opening Photoshop. Add features like Oil Painter to Photoshop then removes Oil painter make Bridge output module an optional download removes the export panel from the Bridge and put an export feature in Ligthroom.
ACR is well integrated into Bridge as a plug-in and in Photoshop as a plugin and filter. Bridge also works well with other Adobe Applications according to some thing I have read. Lightroom on the other hand is not well intergrated with Adone Applications like Photoshop. Lightroom can use external programs like Photoshop to enable users to edit image in ways the Lightroon can not however the image files then are not compatible with lightroom   you would need to save flatten image file to use with lightroom and loose your work layers. I don't waste my disk space with lightroon and it huge library database system. I don't run a Photography Business I'm a retired men of leisure...
