Can i upload only select songs to itunes match

I currently carry 20 gigs of music around on my iphone and am looking to free up some space. If I use iTunes Match to upload my music to the cloud, will it take everything in my iTunes Library or just the songs/playlists/albums I select? This is critical to me because I compose and record my own music and after I bounc a track, I put it in iTunes to listen to the mixes. Obviously I don't want the thousands of personal mixes getting uploaded to the iTunes cloud, so can I be selective with what gets upload?

Hi,
All eligible files will either be matched or uploaded, no option to exclude specific tracks. Therefore, all music in your iTunes library will appear on your iOS devices.
A workaround is to change media type to something other than music e.g. Podcast?

I Can't find newly purchased songs in iTunes Match. Anybody know why?

Hi - you are not alone in this. I've had the same problem, and apparently so have others. I'm also following the discussion:

  • Has anyone else noticed that you can't download a single song via ITunes Match on the iPod app?

The ability to download a single song has been removed. Now it only downloads if you're playing it. So if I want to download a few different songs to play I have to go back into the app at the end of each song and select a new one to play. I can't create a playlist by downloading all the songs I want to listen to. Basically it has become a one song at a time service. Aka worthless. This needs to be fixed. If I can't get the songs I want onto the phone then why would I do anything but sync with my library since I can do that all at once. This may be the most unexplainable change I've seen on any apple update.

I have an audiobook that is over 100 tracks long and a few GBs in size.  I simply cannot believe that there is no way that I can download a single track from that without having to make a playlist for the whole thing.  I simply cannot stream it because my cell provider's 3G speeds just aren't fast enough to allow any tracks to be played without skips and my docks won't recognize a streaming track being played as legit so I can't listen through my car unless the track is downloaded.  Plus I don't want to eat up many GBs on my phone when I only need a couple of tracks per day.
I don't know why Apple decided to take away the individual track download feature that iOS5 had.  It was perfect for me.  This new system in iOS 6+ just doesn't work and makes me want to quit using iTunes Match altogether (since I can't just manually drag the tracks I want to listen to to my phone before I leave the house).  Maybe it was because Apple didn't like seeing all of the little iCloud buttons next to each track?  Perhaps just give us a setting to turn it back on if we want to.  Apple has ruined iTunes Match for me.  I really hope they bring this feature back in the next iOS update.

  • Can't add illustration to song in iTunes Match

    Hi everybody
I want my iTunes library to be perfectly organized so of course I want an album illustration on every album.
I have an iTunes Match subscription and most of the times I can drag and drop a picture to the illustration tab to add it (even if it's not stored locally but only on Match) but sometimes, the illustration tab is greyed out and I can't add a picture.
Any explanation / solution? See screenshot for illustration of the issue
https://www.dropbox.com/s/88lop1v9jfjc7v9/Screenshot%202014-01-03%2011.28.48.png (Safari strangely won't let me embed a picture in this thread..)

I was adding songs to my iPod playlist and not even 2 minutes in to the task I could no longer drag and drop songs into ANY of my playlists. I could just as easily right-click and the songs would go without problem.
I've just got off the phone with Apple Support and all he had me do was download the most recent security update. I believe the only reason I was asked to do with was so my Macbook would not just restart, but also refresh all of the apps as well.
    So far so good. KMFC.

  • Download select songs from iTunes Match

I am an iTunes Match user. On the computer with which I sync my iPod nano, I do not want to hold my entire library. However, I would like to download select songs and/or playlists from the cloud to transfer to my nano. Is there any easy way to do this?

What happens if you click the cloud with the down arrow icon next to a track?

  • Can't download certain songs from iTunes match

Last night I extacted a full album from a CD to my PC laptop via iTunes.
All track names were detected by gracenote and all 12 songs were exacted and showing up in iTunes except the artwork was missing for some reason?
I upload all 12 songs to iTunes match.
Today, on my desktop, I turned on iTunes match and I can see the album and all 12 songs.
There is a download button next to each track and I attempted to download all 12 songs.  Most of them downloaded except 4 songs for some reason?
The download button is NOT greyed out, it's black, but when I click on it iTunes does nothing.  The songs were not downloaded from iTunes match and I have no idea why?  No error message....it just doesnt want to download those 4 songs.
    Troubleshooting:
-Turned off itunes match.  Restarted iTunes and turned iTunes Match back on.  Tried to download the songs again, download button is black but same problem.
-Signed out of my Apple account and singed back on.  Tried to download the songs again, download button is black but same problem.
-Deauthorized computer, re-authorized computer, updated iTunes match.  Tried to download the songs again, download button is black but same problem.
I don't get it?  Why would some of the tracks download but not all of them when the entire track list is present.  12/12 songs are showing up but iTunes Match would only let me download 8/12 songs.

Also, I am running iTunes 11.1.3 on Windows 7 Pro x64 for both my laptop and desktop.

  • HT1399 Can I manually select songs from iTunes? If so, how?

Can I manually select songs from Itunes? If so, how?

I have the iPhone 5. When I plug my phone into iTunes to select different songs, as my libraray is too large to keep it all on my phone. The only choices that iTunes gives you now is Artists, Genres, etc. I don't see the ability to just select song for song, like the older version of iTunes. Which in my opinion, was way more user friendly.

how do you sync only selected songs to your ipod using the new version of itunes?

Same way you did with the previous versions of iTunes.
To view the iPod in iTunes, Ctrl S to show the sidebar.
Create a playlist, add songs and sync that playlist.
Or drag songs to the iPod in iTunes.

  • How can I download songs from iTunes match to my iMac

How can I down load my music from iTunes match and play it on my iMac without having g3 or wifi?

    Hi tkattan,
iTunes Match is ran strictly off of Wi-Fi or a Cellular connection. Devices with iTunes Match turned off can have both the computer and device without any connection to the internet to download music via USB. However, iTunes Match is ran off of iCloud—a Wi-Fi/Cellular based product.
If you would like to download a song on your device connected to the internet:
Make sure your device is connected to Wi-Fi or a Cellular Network.
Make sure your device is running iOS 5.0 or higher (only iDevices can run iTunes Match).
Go to "Music" and you will see music able to be downloaded from the cloud. (If you do not see your music, make sure you have General > Music > Show All Music "ON".)
Click the cloud symbol next to the songs you would like to stream them on your phone and without a Wi-Fi/Cellular connection.
    Hope this helps!
    - Ronni

  • HT4914 can you download songs from itunes match from the cloud to your iPhone ie for times when you dont have internet connection

can you download songs from itunes match from the cloud to your iPhone ie for times when you dont have internet connection?

Unless you have an Internet connection you cannot access iCloud. You can download your music from iCloud to store permanently on your iPhone, but only when you have an Internet connection to do so.

  • Cannot get movie track(karaoke) to go to iTunes  Does not give me Send movie to iTunes, only send song to itunes

In new Garageband I cannot transfer a karaoke track with my vocals to itunes.  SHARE will not give me the Send Movie to Itunes only send song to itunes.  I have show movie selected.

In GarageBand 10.0 the export of soundtracks is different from the previous versions. You need two steps:
First write the soundtrack to the video file with "File > Movie > Export Audio to Movie File"
Then import the video from the Finder to iTunes.

If you check songs, simply sync the entire library.
But I highly recommend (and it is far simpler) to create a playlist (or multiple playlists) and select only that playlist to sync.
    Leave everything checked.
Then simply add/remove from these playlists and sync away.

    Welcome to the Apple community.
iTunes and iCloud and different accounts, you will need to delete both accounts from your device before adding the new details in their place.
For iCloud go to settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit the delete button. You can then sign back in using your correct details. For iTunes go to settings >store, tap your account ID and then sign out, you can then sign back in using your correct Apple ID.

  • How can I rematch a song?  iTunes Match keeps matches my music to clean versions.

I've noticed that within albums that I've bought on Amazon and imported into iTunes Match, the service will match single tracks or entire albums to the clean version.
Is there a way to remove a song from iTunes Match, then re-match it or tag it so it can re-match it to the explicit version?

I would send a list of specific tracks that have had the problem.
