  • I can't use my Philips monitor with Mac mini

I can't use my Philips monitor with Mac mini, I am using a HDMI to VGA cable to connect them. But no signal on my Philips monitor.
My Mac mini is in a good condition, it can connect with my HDTV, the BENQ monitor at my office, but I can't make it connect with my Philips monitor.
    I dun know what happen.
    Please help!
    Thanks!

The two are incompatible, HDMI is a digital signal and VGA is an analog signal. You need a monitor with a HDMI port or a DVI-I port, these are both digital signals. DVI-I gives the best output.

  • Can I use a 2nd Monitor at 4K resolution (quad hd, 3840 x 2160 pixels)

HP Envy TS 17 Notebook, Product # E4S19UALaptop is running Intel HD Graphics 4600, and I have 16Gb memory installed. I use a 2nd monitor all the time via the HDMI port - works great.  Both the laptop and the current 2nd monitor are running at 1920x1080 resolution (HD). I would like to attach a 4K monitor - (UHD-1) 3840x2160 resolution - 4 x "regular" HD (twice the horizontal and twice the vertical resolution). Will this laptop be able to operate the 4K monitor at 3840x2160 resolution (even at 30hz would be okay - not for games but rather for word processing, spreadsheets, software development)?  Don't want to invest in the fancy new monitor if the laptop cannot drive it! Here is an exampe monitor: Samsung 28 Inch Ultra High Resolution LED Monitor (U28D590D), available on Amazon.com. Thanks!

Thanks for the information! As a suggestion, I have a copy of that manual, and it does indeed state precisely the information that I needed. Funny thing is, I looked in the TOC and the Index for anything related to external monitors and HDMI, and there wasn't anything that pointed to that page.  Perhaps for future User's Manuals, the TOC and/or Index could include such references. Either way, thank you so much for the help! Also, for folks who are interested in higher resolution external displays, there is the option to use USB devices such as that from www.plugable.com to attach devices. I don't yet have their USB 3.0 4K compatible one, but I have been using their USB 2.0 HD compatible one for several years so that I can have 3 monitors (built-in, external, Plubable USB) - and it works very well. Flawless operation, though refresh rate is slow (not good for gaming). Which works for me, because it is mainly for surfing and email.

  • How can I use an A1082 monitor with my MacBook Pro?

I received an apple A1082 monitor this past weekend from a friend and we couldn't, and still can't, figure out how it can be used with my MacBook Pro. I know that I need an adapter, but where does it get power from? Thanks in-advance. Richie.

  • Can I use a touch monitor with win 8.1 using bootcamp on MacBook Pro? Thanks.

I have a MacBook Pro  late 2013. I have installed win 8.1 using bootcamp. Can I attach a touch monitor to use with Win 8.1?

You should also ask this in the MacBook Pro forum. This is the forum for the 13” white and black plastic MacBooks that were discontinued in 2010 none of which can run Windows 8. You should also post this question there to increase your chances of getting an answer.

  • Can I use a NTSC monitor with my European MacBook Pro?

    Hi
I moved from Europe to the US and took my Macbook Pro with me. Now I need a second computer monitor (thinking Dell u2410). Can I buy one here in the US or will the whole PAL vs. NTSC thing have an effect?
    Thanks for helping
    Cheers
    Jakob

It will be fine. A Dell U2410 or any other monitor will work fine with your MacBook Pro.
PAL vs. NTSC is not a consideration in computer displays. It really pertains only to video encoding (as in movies/DVDs/TV broadcasts), not the video output from the miniDisplayPort on your MacBook Pro.
Also, FYI, you can play both PAL and NTSC videos/DVDs on your MacBook Pro and show them on your external monitor.

  • Can I use 2 external monitors with Satellite M70?

Is there any chance to connect to PC (M70-131) 2 outer monitors? Triyng to do this via video splitter I have only 2 monitor configuration mode, instead of 3 as it should be.

You own a VGA splitter. This device can only copy the SAME image on two monitors.
    but,...
you want to have totally three (3) independent pictures produced by your notebook.
Yes, that's possible. You will only need to purchase an USB Video Adaptor for your notebook (or desktop).
They are not very expensive (around 100 Euro) and allow you to do amazing things with your applications.
Here is a link of such a device (This picture is meant as an EXAMPLE ONLY, it might not be the BEST device to buy for your requirements).

  • Can i use a 2nd iphone if i install itunes on another user account.when i tried to create a second library i messed up both phones, the second one now has all my contacts and when it sends txts it either says its my other phone or email address

can i use a 2nd iphone if i install itunes on another user account.when i tried to create a second library i messed up both phones, the second one now has all my contacts and when it sends txts it either says its my other phone or email address. i can cope with the first phone and getting it back on itunes but dont want to syn the 2nd phone until i know it is independant of the other one. Does it matter that both phones use the same itunes store account?

Deleting the account on your phone only removes if from your phone.  The account and it's data remain intact and doing so will not effect your daughter's phone.
To do this, first go to Settings>iCloud on your phone and turn any synced data (contacts, calendars, etc.) to Off, and when prompted, choose to keep the data on the phone.  When finished, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  Then set up a new iCloud account with a different Apple ID and turn any data you want to sync with iCloud (contact, calendars, etc.) back to On.  This will upload your data to your new iCloud account.

  • Can I use SCC-DI01 modules with a PCI-6533 device?

I am looking into performing buffered acquisition of various digital signals using a PCI-6533 device. Can I use SCC-DI01 modules with this device? If so, would this be via the SC-2345 Carrier? The manual seemed to suggest is was only compatible with E-series devices?
Basically, I want to monitor 32 digital channels and will have a mixture of 5V and 24V signals.
    Many thanks,
    Douglas

    Hi Douglas
Could you please clarify where the manual suggests that the module is only compatible with an E series board (is it because only an E series board is referenced in the manual)?
I can't find any information stating which devices are/aren't supported by the SCC-DI01, but I will continue to investigate and keep you posted with my progress.
    Kind Regards

  • Using B&W monitor with Beige G3

I would like to use a B&W monitor with the older Beige G3 computer. I know I would need an adapter but what kind and where can I get one? I see adapters at the Apple website but have no idea which one I should use.
Also, how can I use a USB Hub with it? Can I hook up the internet etc on the Beige G3? Right now I think, if I remember right, it still has 8.6 on it, but I'll probably want to up grade the system.
    Thanks

    Hello Susan,
As the MacHead says, adapters may be found on eBay without too much trouble - try to find one with a good picture, as there are several varieties (for converting both directions) - but you're really better off with a good graphics card. My favourite is the 32MB Radeon Mac (not 7000) PCI version (not AGP); they pop up every week or two on eBay and run about $25.
As to USB, beware the USB gremlins! If you simply buy a USB card and plug it in, it doesn't work. In order for the Mac Operating System to "see" the USB card, you have to reinstall the Operating System from a retail, full install OS CD with the USB card already in place. If you're thinking of upgrading to OS9, now is the time to do it; just get that full install orange-nine-on-a-white-background OS9 CD, remember to plug the USB card in first, install OS9 and you're all set. It will work as if it came that way. I like the Orange Micro combination USB/firewire card (eBay again), but Keyspan, Macally, SIIG, Belkin, generic, have all worked for me.
I haven't tried a USB hub on the beige G3 - I've just reached behind it - but I can't see that it wouldn't work.
applerescue.com used to be a good source for OS9 CDs, but it's site seems to be unresponsive; eBay is not a good source for OS9 CDs, since there are a lot of people trying to sell you grey labels, burned copies, true copies, copies that ought to work (but don't), &c.,&c. If you need, I'm sure someone here has another good source.
OS9 - or 8.6 - should work just fine on the internet, although sometimes your ISP will not be familiar with it and try to tell you it can't be done. That's because they haven't run their standardised tests on OS9, and don't feel they can guarantee it (or because their installer has never seen it before). Insist.
A router is a handy accessory at this point for security and spam avoidance; if your ISP doesn't supply one, get it yourself.
Anyhow, hope that helps, and good luck!
    Jon

p.s. update: yes, the video card will have a different plug sticking out the back - a "VGA" plug instead of a "DB15" - three rows of (fewer) little holes instead of two.

  • Solution manager can be used as repository DB with out-of-box integration?

Solution manager can be used as repository DB with out-of-box integration?
    Hi ,
In Our Global SAP Environment, We are looking to use solution manager as a CMDB ( Config management DB) , which is kind of repository DB where it needs to keep track of infrastructure components .
A CMDB about Host consists of elements like
    No. of CPUs,
    RAM  size,
    ...etc
For example in solman SMSY , you get some  information about the SAP Host .
we have multiple CMDB systems , each one for our supplier .
For example Host hardware () CMDB is managed by Vendor1,
Storage CMDB by  vendor 2  , and we need to join the both information , in order to get the Full elements of the Host .
A host information spread across the Multiple Vendor CMDBs.
Now we want to use solman as single CMDB, where Solman keeps track of some data , and needs to get some additional data  from vendor1 by connecting  into
their DB using  the  username/password ..etc
Does the solman has this Out-of-box functionality?
    Thanks
    Vasu .

    Hi - smilar question
If we setup the system monitoring using solution manager , can we able see the TCodes & their screens from solman .
For example Can I able to control my ECC screens (SCC4, RZ10,SMLG,SALE,SPAD,SM59,.... ) from Solution manager ?
    waiting for the reply .
    Thanks

  • Can't use my apple displays with Mac mini

    Hey everyone,
I've got a pretty strange problem, and I'm hoping you guys know of a solution to this.
Thing is, I can't use any apple displays with my Mac mini box. Whenever I try to do so I can see that the monitors are turned on, but the screen is completely black (doesn't flicker or anything like that). I know for a fact that both of the apple monitors I tried work.
However, monitors from other manufacturers work just fine! This has got me baffled, what is it about apple monitors that's got my Mac so confused ?

It's possible the analog VGA is working on your mini whereas the DVI digital output is broken. They are two completely different interfaces that just happen to share a common connector on the mini.
Can you possibly get your hands on another, non-Apple monitor that has a DVI input? I would say if all three are not working (two Apple monitors and a third-party one), then definitely something is up with the mini's DVI output.

  • Can you use any external display with a macbook?

    hi all,
I was just wondering, can you use any external display with a macbook? (i.e. gateway, and dell displays?)

    To original poster:
    Yes.
Provided you have the appropriate ports and cables, that is. Some monitors do not have all vga, dvi-i, dvi-d, hdmi, etc. ports, and it can be misleading that all those technologies appear to be compatible via conversion cables (they aren't all meant to be compatible, so look it up on the internet before buying).
    Cheers,

  • How can I use my Apple ID with 2 Apple devices?

I just got an ipad mini and I registered it with the same Apple ID I use for my iphone 4s. Everything was fine until I downloaded apps to the ipad and noticed that the ones I had on both devices  no longer opened on my iphone. Why is this? How can I use my Apple ID with 2 Apple devices and how can I recover my apps on my iphone?

I've had an iPad for almost two years. When I purchased an iPhone last fall I set it up to use the same Apple ID as my iPhone. I've had no problems doing this. Try resetting each device and see what happens.
First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
