Can I use a "clicker" in Captivate?

Couldn't find this answer anywhere, so I hope someone can help me.
I am using Captivate 5 and am generating presentations that basically work as PPT slideshows. These presentations do include forward and back buttons. They are used by both single users on a desktop and trainers on an overhead projector. The trainers want to be able to use a presentation "clicker" so they can move through the presentation the same way you can in PPT. They don't want to be tied to the desktop and using a mouse or keyboard to progress through.
I don't know how to fix this besides moving things back to PPT. (Which I really, really, REALLY don't want to do...)
Any help is greatly appreciated!

As I understand it, the "clicker" doesn't simulate a mouse at all. Unless, of course, you purchased one that DOES have a mouse function.
Basically what these devices do is to transmit the equivalent of the Page Down and Page Up keys. So if you assign the Page Down or Page Up as shortcut keys on your Previous and Next buttons, the clicker should function to navigate the Captivate output as it does for PowerPoint.

Why I can't use double click to open files, pics and videos?

I had bought new retina macbook pro 15 in, everething was working perfect I was open files, pics, videos with double click in the mouse pad normally but I do not why now is not working I can not use double click in the pad for open files. I was changing settings in expose and I assigned a mouse button to windows applications and now I can't click my mouse to change back the setting.
I tried safe mode but it still can't click.
Is there a way to reset the mouse options or the expose preferences back to default without using the mouse????

Everyone's stumpted on this one. I called apple support and they told me to archive and install.
It is a logitech wireless MX 700 Keyboard & Mouse. I set it on mouse button 192 out of 295. You have to leave one option for the mouse blank in the system preference for expose.
I solved this problem by clicking both clickers (logictech, not apple, 2 clickers) or maybe it was one then the other I am not sure but it worked and I was able to get back into the system preferences to change one of the mouse button empty and was able to use my clicker.
In conclusion good to know about this issue. I love my mac.

Can I use a "Click Free" backup drive with Time Machine

Can I connect my Click Free portable hard drive backup to my Intel IMac running Lion, and use time machine and not the Click Free backup software? I'm guessing I might have to erase the software from the ClickFree drive. This ClickFree hard drive is for Mac as well as Windows.

Then it is likely formatted as FAT32 and can not be used with TM until reformatted to HFS+.
It should work after reformatting, use disk utility to erase the drive and set the format as MAC OSX Extended (journaled)

Can I use right click without disabling accessibility?

I'm using Captivate 5.
Is there a way that I can capture or use the right click without disabling the "enable accessibility" feature?
I am producing resources for disabled students so would prefer to keep the accessibility on.

How can I use hotspot click in an ALV grid?

I have a table that is displayed in an ALV grid and I would like to have one of the columns as clickable icons.
For example:

I would like to click in the icon (Print column) and execute an action, but no matter what I do I can't set the action.
I know that is not just setting "fieldcatalog-hotspot='X'", but I don't know how to use a hotspot handler.

Help! Can't use double click to open!

I need some help here. I can't double click to open anything on my computer. Not my HD, or anything in my HD. The only way I can open my HD is to click on my HD icon then go to File-Open. And to open anything in my HD I have to click on the item and then go to File-Open. I can double click open iPhoto, but once I'm in iPhoto I can't double click any photos to open them. Instead I have to click on the photo and then click edit.
Can someone please help?

Okay, I did a search here and think I fixed it.
Went to Apple Menu-Preferences-Keyboard & Mouse-Mouse. Drop down=Dashboard. Left side Drop Down=Primary button and Right side Drop Down=Secondary button and Expose=All Windows and Scrolling Options=Vertical & Horizontal.

Can't use right click to view source code of photos

In Windows I can right click my mouse to view the source code of a posted photo. However, I don't see this capability in the iMac. Am I wrong and, if so, how to do it?

It actually works with Photoshop but not with Flash Pro.

Using wild card with Captivate 5 ( fill in the blank)

I am training software package that requires many fill in the blanks besides the login screeen. If I were to recording the actions using Captivate 5 record, I think, I can only use a demonstration recording as oppsed to having my students interact with the product by filling in the blank. For example, my product asks for a login. When I login to demonstrate how it should be done, the product reponds correctly. By my student is limited to watching as opposed to interacting. While login is not such a big deal, there are several other areas where the same concept applies. Ideally, I wish to use wild cards in fill in the blank so that any name or information can be used to interact with Captivate and move the slide along. Is this possible, and if so, how?

I think Lilybiri may be misinterpreting your use of the term "wildcards" to mean using them in the programming sense.
Perhaps you are referring to the characters that appear in a typical Password field to hide what the user is actually typing?
If so, the text field object in Captivate has an option to use these password characters so that the user's typing characters are hidden. The characters used are asterisks, which are what some people refer to as wildcard characters.

How do I use Right Click Functionality in Captivate 5

I am trialing Adobe Captivate 5, with a view to purchasing it, and I have been loving it, but have hit a snag. My Right Click actions are not working except with the web preview. I noted from the manual a lot of restrictions and from reading here I am not able to change AS3 to AS2. Does this mean Captivate 5 does not let you use Right Click options.
I would greatly appreciate your help because I do love this software but if I can't create elearning with multiple Click Boxes and Right Click functionality, I may have to look elsewhere.

I downloaded and unzipped the file you linked. On my work laptop with XP, IE 8, and Captivate 4, it ran perfectly.
On my personal laptop with Windows 7, IE 8, and Captivate 5, it did not run. (I got the JavaScript line 81 error.)
On my personal laptop, I created my own right click project in Captivate 5, published with accessibility turned off, and it would not run (line 81).
I copied my Captivate 5 published files to my work laptop, and it would not run there either.
I don't have any third party toolbars installed on either machine. I'm running Symantec antivirus on my work laptop (where your project worked but mine didn't) and AVG on my personal laptop (where neither project worked.)
Is there something you did in your JS file? Or some little tweak you made in your Captivate project?

Can you replace existing images in Captivate 7 the way you can when using InDesign? I need to replace some images but wondering if I'll need to reformat, resize, rename for the Advanced Action, etc.

The work flow is a bit more complicated than in InDesign (keeps only a link to the image as you know in the frame). I understand the problem with the advanced/shared action references. This is my work flow, maybe someone else has an easier, shorter one:
Right-click on the image and use 'Find in Library' or use CTRL-ALT-F if it works on your keyboard (doesn't on my AZERTY one)
In the Library use the right-click menu to open the Properties or double-click the name of the image
In that dialog box, choose 'Import' and choose your new image; for some reason you cannot choose from the Library however, which I find really sad because I'm used to import all assets to the Library.
Drawback: if the new image has not the same width/height ratio, it will adapt to the original size of the image, you can use Edit image to repair. You'll keep the name of the image, you don't have to change advanced/shared actions.

If you've turned VoiceOver on then see if triple-clicking the home button turns it off, and then change what Settings > General > Accessibility > Triple-Click Home is set to.
Otherwise, via 'the touch to select double-tap to activate' process you need to go into Settings > General > Accessibility > VoiceOver and turn it off
