Can I use a local carrier SIM card when traveling to Israel?
Good Morning!
I will be traveling to Israel with a group this Summer for @2 weeks and they require us to use a local SIM card while we are over there. I have an iPhone 6 and was wondering if I can use a SIM card while in Israel? I don't want to add an international plan since it will only be for 2 weeks and the SIM card is a group requirement.

Sounds like you bought an AT&T no contract phone. You will need to contact AT&T for unlocking but they are only doing so for current and previous account holders. If you have never had service with them they will not unlock your phone.

Contact the original cellular provider, as they are the only ones that can provide unlocking.

Provide you can buy pre-payed GSM micr-sim cards in the domain to which you are travelling.
IF you can't then your either going to pay ATT huge amounts for international roaming or will have to find a free/low cost or public open WiFi hotspot. -

Thank you for your kind help!That is OK. To activate iPhone you need a SIM Card from the Carrier the iPhone is locked to. It takes just moments for iTunes to activate the iPhone, once activated you can put the SIM Card back into the 4S when you like.

No, you need to be in a country and have a valid billing address in that country to be able to use a country's store. If there isn't an iTunes store in your country then unfortunately you won't be able to buy any content from iTunes.

If there is no other option, you can cut the old SIM and rub it down to make it thinner, but be prepared for it not to work and the SIM ruined..
