Can I use a retina MBP for windows - MS Office development

Hi,
I'm a windows user doing a lot of development work in MS Excel-VBA.
Because of the display I really would like to switch to the 13" retina MBP to do my daily work (using Parallels), but my question is whether it's really possible/advisable to work with Windows- MS Office 2010 on a retina machine? Does Excel (charts,forms...) behave well on the retina or would I run into too many formatting/display issues?
I plan to use Parallels 8 and Win 7 or 8.
Does anybody have experience on this?

I can't speak to teh display quality of Office for Windows 2010 on a Retina display, but I'm successfully running Parallels 8 with Windows XP and Office 2010 - no problems with VBA at all.
But let's hear from the Retina owners - I wouldn't think that you'd have any problems.

License transfers are only possible for current versions. Refer to this:

As a stopgap measure, you could install your Win 7 via Bootcamp and still use your PS on the Windows side...

I have CS5.5 design premium for Mac. I am now using a Windows laptop, I want to convert my serial number so I can download from the Adobe store and use my serial number so my CS5.5 can work on my Windows laptop.
What are the steps I need to take and what are the costs? Do I also need to upgrade to CS6? IS it a free upgrade or at a cost and if at a cost do I need to upgrade, are the changes really that different that I need to pay again?

No, it won't. First of all you can't use any retail license in the trial except one purchased via the buy it now button in the trial itself. And adobe doesn't do cross platforming in PSE anymore.
All is not lost, though. You can call adobe Sales (NOT customer support), and they will issue you a crossgrade license for pretty much just shipping and handling for the new disc.
EDIT That's assuming you're willing to give up the windows version. Otherwise, you'll need a new license for the Mac version.

I have a X200-20S and am running Windows 7 64bit with BIOS Ver 2.5 for 32bit Vista. If I try to install ver 2.5 for 64bit Vista I get an error message which tells me the ROM image is identical to the one already installed!!! I can only assume that the installer software can't distinguish beteen the 32 and 64bit versions? Not sure what the difference is but I haven't had any problems with Windows 7 so far apart from the subwoofer not working.

OK, new Mac user needs help at v basic level, I want to sync a windows smartphone (htc3300) with outlook installed on windows xp, which runs via parallel on a mabook pro with tiger OS. At the moment the acivesync can't find the smartphone, am i expecting too much of xp on a mac or do I need to tell the mac to allow traffic that it doesn't normally see. It's connected via a usb & all the usbs are working normally.

You need to call Adobe and have them transfer your license to a Mac version. With the current subscription plan, you can use it on either Win or Mac.

The full featured Reader for Windows 8 is Reader XI.
Reader Touch works in all Windows 8 systems BUT it is intended mainly for use in mobile tablets - I see no particular reason to use it unless you can'r run Reader XI. Given it is mainly for use on mobile that can't use Flash, we aren't likely to ever see the development team spending their time on this.
If you want the latest and greatest - at least try Reader XI, not X! (Flash is a separate download, it will prompt).

My girlfriend has a windows based laptop. I have a macbook pro and we both need to share an external hard drive (Maxtor 3200, 300gb). The external hard drive is currently formatted as NTFS. When I tried to access the drive from my macbook pro, it gives me an error, basically asking me to initialize the drive, which I won't do (got lots of data in it). After some net research, and reading this post I now know that I have to format it in fat32. I guess that my questions are:
Is this the only solution? How stable is the fat32 format? Can I use another file format for two different environments Mac OS and Windows?

JPEG is a format and a specification. Any image editing software confirms to the specification while editing and writing to the format. So, a jpeg can be further edited by any other program after editing with PSE.
