Can I use a Sprint Blackberry 8830 on Verizon?

My phone died and I am not eligible for a free one yet.  Can I use the Sprint 8830 on Verizon?

If the phone is flashed over I believe it should work on Verizon. You just may encounter problems trying to get the phone activated on Verizon.  Do you have a spare old verizon phone that you could use instead? Maybe a friend or family member has one.

  • Can i use my sprint unlocked iphone with verizon

i have a friend who gave me a iphone 5 from sprint and i was wondering is there anyway can i use it with verizon if the phone is factory unlocked ?

That was very nice of your friend, skinny600. In many cases, you may be able to use a 4G LTE and CDMA capable device, like the iPhone 5, from another carrier on our service. We may not be able to guarantee the same quality signal on the device since it was meant for a different service, but you can visit http://vz.to/U2wgl6 to make sure the Device ID can be activated with a new Verizon Wireless SIM. If you already have a compatible Verizon Wireless SIM, you can easily activate the phone by inserting your SIM http://vz.to/1FKbLxs to the device. If you find you'll need a new SIM, you can pick one up from a local store http://bit.ly/3SdsA.

  • Can I use my Sprint iPhone 5 on Verizon 4G LTE

Hi I want to use my iPhone 5 from Sprint on Verizon's 4G LTE I have a service with Verizon already and I want to use my iPhone 5 on that carrier instead, I'm afraid though because I want to use the 4G services with Verizon and I was wondering if Sprint's 4G has a different 4G chip in it please help!
Ps: if I can how can I? Can I take it into Verizon? Sprint?

No.  CDMA carriers such as Sprint and Verizon don't allow phones from other carriers, even if the phone is isentical to theirs.

  • Can I use my sprint iPhone 4S with another carrier if it's unlocked

Can I use my sprint iPhone 4S with another carrier if it's unlocked. Sprint will only unlock it if it's international. they will not unlock it if I want to use the iphone4s with another USA carrier.  Why? I have paid for the phone and don't have a contract.  I wanted to switch the SIM card and use tmobile or another provider because I am very dissatisfied with sprint service. Lots of drop calls and texting takes 15 to reach the other person.  It is horrible,,,, I hate sprint!,

Sorry, what others here have said is wrong, wrong, wrong. There is nothing about the hardware of the iPhone 4S that would prevent a Sprint 4S from being used on T-Mobile, or any GSM carrier, international or domestic. Nothing. Zero. Zip. Zilch. Nada. Each and every 4S is 100% hardware capable of doing both GSM and CDMA out of the box. The only impediment is that Sprint would have to authorize an unlock for you. This is something they simply refuse to do. If anyone at Sprint has told you that they can't unlock a 4S for domestic use with another carrier, they have lied to your face. This, by the way, is something they're doing with everyone who asks the question - just Google search "Sprint unlock iPhone 4S", and you'll see dozens of internet threads where people talk about being lied to by Sprint about this issue. The good news is that Sprint signed an agreement with the FCC regarding letting off-contract customers unlock their phones. The agreement takes effect in mid-March, and Sprint is dragging its feet until then. Once that deadline passes, if Sprint still hasn't agreed to unlock your phone, then they're in violation of the agreement, and you can and should report them to the FCC. I sure plan to. Then I'm going to switch carriers, to one that doesn't lie to me and keep fraudulent liens on my property.

  • Can i use an Atnt Iphone 4 on Verizon.

I have an iphone 4 on Atnt but i want to switch to Verizon without buying another iphone so... my question is
Can i use an iphone 4 atnt on verizon?
Can i unlocked the iphone and use verizon is it possible?
    I'm in the lasted update.
    Thanks

It's a completely different communication standard, GSM is At&t, CDMA is Verizon. They are not backwards compatible.
However, you may be able to use your iPhone on T-mobile...
Or, just sell your iPhone 4 and use the money towards a new contract.
Just so you know, Sprint is cheaper than Verizon and it includes free VZ roaming.

  • Can I use my Sprint Air Card with my new MacBook?

I have just purchased a new MacBook running OS 10.6.7 and I have access the Internet at home with a Sprint Air Card.  I was able to use it to connect to the Internet only once or twice, but now I can not connect at all.  I thought it was an automatic connection when I have the Air Card plugged in, but now I am wondering if there are some Network Settings that I need change.   Thanks for your help.

It will almost certainly not be possible. If you don't sign up for AT&T service for the iPad, then replace your Sprint card with a MiFi or Overdrive device from Sprint. This will use your Sprint service, but connect to your iPad using Wi-Fi. It also has the advantage of you being able to use it with any Wi-Fi capable device. IOW, you can use both your laptop and iPad at the same time with the MiFi or Overdrive, but only have to pay for one Sprint account. Of course, all devices that connect to the MiFi or Overdrive will use up your 5GB allotment, unless you use Overdrive in a 4G area. (Overdrive is unlimited on 4G, but has a 5GB cap in 3G areas.)

  • Can I use my unlocked Blackberry 8700g on AT&T without data charges?

Hi, my phone recently broke so I went on ebay and bought an unlocked Blackberry 8700g.  I previously had no data plan on my old cell phone, just the pay as you go type thing.  If I start using the unlocked Blackberry will AT&T automatically start billing me for a BlackBerry data plan, even if I don't use any data?  I don't need data, the phone is only temporary and I mainly bought it for the QWERTY for texting.
    Thanks in advance

I've heard of some carriers sending an SMS that offers service. If you reply in whatever their proscribed manner is, that constitutes activating a contract. But I think it still requires you to respond...I don't think that they can just start giving you service and sending you bills if you've never actively accepted some contractual arrangement. But, one never knows...carriers get more and more creative all the time.

  • How can i use a second router to replace verizon fios router?

Okay so just as the title says how do i use a second router? I got a cisco valet router... I don't know how to use it because the verizon router/modem is wierd i know how to use a router if i only had a modem but fios gives router/modem so how can i use my 2nd router? The current verizon fios router/modem is b/g mode and i wanna change to b/g/n so i can get a better speed from my internet... SO how can i use my 2nd router? I tried this http://www.dslreports.com/faq/verizonfios/3.0_Networking#12506 but i don't get it can someone guide me better or make a video explaination on how to use a 2nd router? I have it connected with see as in pic i connect from my router Internet port to wan port and the ethernet lan port to the ethernet lan port on verizon fios and no work please help...

OK, so with this, we have a few options. You appear to have a MoCa connection to the ONT, hence the coaxial cable being present.
1: The ActionTec can be bridged to the Valet router. This will not require any additional cabling, however it will require a small amount of work to have working. You will also require the ActionTec still in the mix, even though it will not be acting as a router anymore with this configuration.
Visit http://www.dslreports.com/faq/16077 and look at Option 4. There is a thread linked that will allow you to set up the ActionTec as just a MoCa bridge, and will pass the Public IP to your router. You will, in order for this to work once the ActionTec is bridged, need to connect the cable from your Valet router's Internet port, to the ActionTec's LAN port and nothing else goes to the ActionTec. From this point, your Valet should run as your primary and everything should connect through your Valet. If you are adding another router, a Netgear N300, you should perform the LAN to LAN setup, which we will talk about once you've got the Valet working correctly. LAN to LAN configs require a custom setup, so do not set up the Netgear for now.
2: This is my preferred method, which would be to run an Ethernet cable to the ONT. Option 6 in the FAQ. This will require spaking to Verizon to have them move your ONT to Ethernet, but once they do this, you can disconnect the Coaxial Cable from your ActionTec router, and plug in your CAT5/CAT6 cable from the ONT to the ActionTec's Internet/WAN port. Use the ActionTec to ensure everything is working after the switchover, and once off the phone, log into the ActionTec, perform a DHCP Release, and then prompty power off the ActionTec. Once this is done, plug the CAT6 cable into your Valet router's Internet port. You should from this point, be able to connect to the Cisco, and if the DHCP Lease was broken successfully, the Cisco should begin serving up your Internet connection. If it does not, leave the Cisco powered off for a few hours to break the DHCP lease, and then power it up. If the Valet does not work, still, give the Valet a factory reset and set up this router again, with the Ethernet cable from the ONT connected to it.
I would just take a good luck at the FAQ linked above again, and see what would work the best. Easiest thing to do is to get the ONT moved to Ethernet, which allows you to eliminate the ActionTec unless you need it in the future for TV service, and also allows you to use any router with ease.
Once the Valet is up and running and holds your Public IP address from Verizon (use http://whatismyip.com/ to determine this) , and also serves up IPs to devices on your network, post back and we can help you set up the Netgear. If you have any issues while setting this up, fall back to the ActionTec. It's factory reset will work without configuration needed, regardless of you being on Coax or Ethernet.

  • Sprint BlackBerry 8830 - how do we get in to debug mode...?

I have searched for two days everywhere and can not locate how we enter in to debug mode on the 8830.
I need access to the Rx Ec/lo and the SID#, currently I can only get signal strength in the home screen by pressing the ALT+NMLL (changes the graphical signal indicator to the numerical one, i.e.  -80)
Please, I could really use some help with this so we can diagnose the repeaters on our corporate campus.
    Thanks,
    J
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Well, to answer my own question, I have now found the answer.
Unfortunately, the 8830 and some of the other newer BlackBerrys do not make it easy to get this type of engineering information.
    You must:
    Have a login/password to  https://www.blackberry.com/EngineeringScreens/ (updated 5/30/2008)
On the BlackBerry pres ALT+CAP+H and leave it on this screen.
Once logged in to the link on #1, you will be asked to enter your PIN#, Uptime and Zip code of where your device is.
You will then receive a unlock code that is specific to this information (if you exit out of this help screen on the blackberry, the uptime number will be different thus your code will be different.)
Then enter the unlock code on the BlackBerry, holding the ALT key for numbers, capitals are not necissary.
This will give you access to the Trace Mode Engineering App
    Select "Radio Engineering" screen
    Select "CDMA Engineering" screen
Select "Operational Info"  (2nd line ec/io, 3rd line rss)
Scroll down to "Neighbor Set Details" and get 1st line Active Pilot, 2nd  through 20th will give Neighbor sites with ec/io for each.
*This code will only work for 30 days, then you will need to get a new code in the same way.
    I hope this helps everyone!

  • TS2755 Can i use unlocked SPRINT iPhone in India with GSM Operators?

    Dear All,
Can any one help me to understand if iPhone5 SPRINT Unlocked phone (from USA) works in GSM Operators (Airtel etc..) in India? is there any issues if used, as SRPINT in USA uses CDMA technology? please help in understanding.
    Thank you,
    Srikanth

However, now I've got an Indian simcard (Airtel) and I want to use it with my iphone. Will this work?
No, unless your phone was officially unlocked by the UK carrier it was originally locked to, and from your post stating you're roaming, it would appear your phone is not unlocked. The 2G iphone was only sold officially unlocked in France when it was introduced.

  • Can I transfer a Sprint iPhone 5 to Verizon?

I currently have 2 iPhone 5's on my Sprint account and I am tired of the lack of Sprint coverage in the Denver, CO area. LTE probably won't be until the end of 2013 so I want to switch.
Can I take my current iPhone 5 and use it on the Verizon network?
Does my Sprint account have to be paid in full to transfer the phone (if I can?)?
    Thanks!

You will not be able to transfer the phone to Verizon, there is no "unlock" to be done on the CDMA side. Sprint won't release the phones and Verizon will not accept them.
Sprint coverage in Denver is block-by-block, not by the entire city (my brother has Sprint in Thornton and has good coverage). Before you make any move check with your neighbors and see if anyone has Verizon and what their coverage is in your area. Sprint and Verizon often share towers in an area.

  • I would like to use a Sprint iPhone 5c on Verizon, ESN is clean

I have a 5s on Verizon, but would also like to buy a 5c and use it too, using the same SIM card I'm using now.

Aren't there computer programs for things like this out there
Not for the general public...in the four or five years since the Verizon iPhone 4 came out I cannot recall a single user saying they had success getting the iPhone refreshed.  Before buying, talk with Verizon, see what they say, talk with Sprint, see what they say about authorizing the flashing.  Since the iPhone is locked to Sprint, the authorization to unlock, i.e., flash is solely up to them.  Apple will not get involved, Verizon will not help unless Sprint authorizes it.  These are all contract-legal matters.

  • Can i use my Samsung Galaxy SIII on verizon from att?

Im going to switch to att and i was curious if i can use my samsung galaxy SIII from att on verizon.

Verizon uses CDMA for calls and texting. At&t phones do not have CDMA radios as they use GSM. Now the phone does support Verizon's XLTE frequency but not Verizon's 700 MHz LTE frequency. So you won't be able to call or text and only part of Verizon's LTE network will be available to use.
