Can I use action link based on hierarchical column?

Hi all,
I used OBIEE 11.1.1.6.2.
And I want to know can I use action link based on hierarchical column? I want to show link based on some conditionally..
I try to add conditions, such as Department is equal to A, But after I added, it show me "Department is equal to", why?
Can anybody give me some hints?

Hi Anne,
It should work. How did you add the action link? .Click on the + icon on the hierarchical column in criteria tab, this will list all the columns in the hierarchy.Each column will have its own column properties. Click on the Hierarchy level properties of Department column ->Interaction tab and define your conditional action link.

Obiee11g(11.1.1.3.0) - Download issued Excel and pdf (by used Action link)

I have used Action link in obiee11g version, in my report is working fine. but one thing while downloading my report as excel and pdf it's showing action link also.actuallly it should not come.kinly check below images.
1) this my actual o/p in my dashboard side.i am expecting the same in PDF and Excel also.

Hi,
Yes .That is a Bug .When you have a Navigation links on Measures then, when you download the Report to Excel then you will be facing diffculty in getting the Totals and calculations wrong in the EXCEL .
But when you Remove the Navigation links on the Measures then the Excel will have no problems in showing out the Totals.
This was in 11.1.1.3 and also it is not resolved in 11.1.1.5 .
We have already filed an SR ,and they said that they will be resolving the Issue in their later Versions .
Might be if they get so many SR's on this Issue they might release an Early patch before the Next version Release.

Show prompts before opening a new report using action links

Hi,
I have a report that's grouped on a particular GROUP_ID and the current month. On clicking the GROUP_ID on the report, I need to open a new report that displays data for that month but on date level. Since we have a lot of data at date level (>100,000), I wanted a drop down on the top of the report that has all dates in that month and clicking on a particular date, the data in the pivot table is fetched.
I tried using the pivot table prompt but that seems to fetch all the data first and then creates a drop down prompt. Is there a way where we could fire the query only on choosing a particular date.
Is there any other way we could do this?

You're saying to add a dashboard prompt for Month and Date? When opening reports using Action links, I am not able to see the prompts.
I am using Go URLs in Action links and that data for a month is >100,000. So, I want to show the data for the month and the first date of that month.
I really don't know whether such thing is possible or not. I just want to restrict the data to the first day of the month. Rest of the data is queried when user selects a different date from the drop down.

Also can the Cloud version access RAW files? – and from all cameras? I have had compatibility issue in the past with RAW files? Save out your CS3 actions from the actions panel flyout menu. Then load them into CC the same way. You need to save out action sets; not individual actions.
You should do some test runs to make sure they work as intended. Minor differences in behavior between versions can easily throw actions off - especially since exact commands are recorded (not "intentions").
Raw file support is added to new ACR versions as new camera models are released. Each new camera model requires specific support, and updating to the ACR version that introduces such support.
Don't know about Topaz, you'll have to check on their website. Don't copy plugins over from old version, you must install a plugin version that is compatible with the Photoshop version.

Open pdf file using action links

Dear all,
I am trying to open a pdf file residing in the following location (/bishiphome/Middleware/Oracle_BI1/bifoundation/web/app/olh/l_en).
I choosed this location just to make sure there are no access right problems.
I am able to open any html file residing in this folder using an action link (URL:http://IPADDRESS:PORT/analytics/olh/l_en/biee0001.htm) but once I try with a pdf file http://IPADDRESS:PORT/analytics/olh/l_en/Test.pdf I get the following error:
Error 404--Not Found
From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
10.4.5 404 Not Found
The server has not found anything matching the Request-URIPS: When I copied the pdf file to the folder I restarted weblogic.
Any idea guys?

Placing the pdf file in /l_en folder dint work for me too however you can place them inside the following paths and restart the services,
D:\MWARE\user_projects\domains\bifoundation_domain\servers\AdminServer\tmp\_WL_user\analytics_11.1.1\silp1v\war\res
AND
D:\MWARE\Oracle_BI1\bifoundation\web\app\res
You can then call your file with the url, http://hostname:port/analytics/res/filename.pdf
It worked for me, let me know in case of any issues.

Can I use my Intel-based MacBook to boot into Windows 7 from an external HDD?

Okay, so I need to use Windows for some simple applications. Problem is, I don't have a Windows desktop anymore and while I have both Windows and Linux partitions along with Mountain Lion on my installed hard drive, I'm probably going to wipe said drive and just use the entire partition for Mountain Lion. That said, I'd like to use an extra hard drive I have lying around to boot Windows.
My questions are:
1. Does my MacBook support USB boot to Windows?
2. If my laptop does support this, can someone point me to a set of good reliable instructions to install Windows onto the external hard drive and boot into it by USB?

You seem to have a triple boot system that was done using the 10.6 installer disk and a copy of rEFIt.
I know because I had the same thing once.
I can tell you what will happen if you decide to upgrade 10.7 or 10.8
1: The EFI and GUID is going to change, rEFIt hasn't been updated in ages since 10.7 started rolling out back in about June 2011. There will be adverse effects with rEFIt so I hear.
2: The 10.8 upgrader is going to barf at your triple boot system, it will upgrade the 10.6 partition but warn you that the 10.8 RecoveryHD partition (10.7 and 10.8 both install) that it normally installs at the very bottom of the drive will not be installed and you can't enable Filevault.
Intel Mac's can have only 4 bootable partitions on the drive, the 10.7+ installer is normally dealing with EFI, MacintoshHD, BOOTCAMP, RecoveryHD. It barfs at anything else it doesn't understand and will not install RecoveryHD partition, which on a non-Internet Recovery capable hardware is required to reinstall the currently upgraded OS X operating system version. But you can always go back to the 10.6 disks and wipe and restore that way or via 10.6 USB boot key.

So with 10.7+ you'll have to use something like Carbon Copy Cloner for the OS X partition.
So since rEFIt is going to be hosed, so will your ability to use the EFI based program to boot into the three operating systems at boot time.
I assume you found this out and why you want to dump Windows on a external drive. However Apple's EFI doesn't recognize Linux as a boot option.

Windows as you now know can't be booted off a external drive, however if your use of it is minor, you may want to consider using a virtual machine to run it in OS X or Linux instead using the free VirtualBox.
Windows in BootCamp or Virtual Machine?
You should Carbon Copy Cloner the OS X 10.6 partition to a external GUID OS X Extended J (JHFS+) drive.
You can use WinClone 3 in OS X to clone the Windows partition to a external drive, but it's a backup only, no booting capability. Restoring it will boot on the internal drive of course.
Linux you should already know how to clone it to a external drive using dd.
I advise you use the 10.6 install disks to set up your new partition scheme, but your going to have to uninstall rEFIt and return the machine and firmware back to basic Apple factory system as possible before doing anything.
EFI doesn't get erased, it resides in NVRAM and the EFI partition, controls the at boot key commands to boot off OS X install disks, so it's important to uninstall rEFIt completely before upgrading OS X.
If the Windows version your using is XP, to install that first using BootCamp in a fresh 10.6 install and reverse clone using WinClone before upgrading to 10.7 or above. It will be grandfathered in, but can't be reinstalled later.

Can't use "Place Linked" or "Place Embedded" or "Open" after upgrading to Yosemite and PS CC 2014

When I go to File > Place Linked / Place Embedded / Open it isn't working anymore after upgrading to Yosemite and PS CC 2014.
If I drag a file to Photoshop, I can open it that way, or by using "Open Recent".
I've tried going to the folder "Adobe Photoshop CC 2014 Settings" and deleting the file "Adobe Photoshop CC 2014 Prefs.psp", and then "Place Linked / Place Embedded / Open" works once, but then it stops working again?

Yosemite is still full of bugs that Apple has not been able to fix. Thank Apple for the damage to your Photoshop install.
To re-create the preferences files for Photoshop, start the application while holding down Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows) or Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS). Then, click Yes to the message, "Delete the Adobe Photoshop Settings file?"
Note: If this process doesn't work for you while you're using a wireless (Bluetooth) keyboard, attach a wired keyboard and retry.
Important: If you re-create the preferences by manually deleting the Adobe Photoshop CS6 Settings file, make sure that you only delete that file. If you delete the entire settings folder, you also delete any unsaved actions or presets.
Reinstalling Photoshop does not remove the preferences file. Before reinstalling Photoshop, re-create your preferences.

Can I use action build to fade one table row as I move to the next row in the table?

I have built a table with 6 rows. Right now,I am building the table row by row when I play the slide. Is there a way to fade or dissolve one row when I move to the next row in the table? I want to be able to de-emphasize the row I just discussed when I move to the next row in the table. I can fade the entire table by invoking that action but I do not seem to be able to use this action one row at a time. Thanks for your comments and assistance.

you will have to use a workaround to get the exact effect you described
create a table with out any text
use text tool to add text and position in each table cell
select the text boxes( command click) in the first row and group them (arrange > group)
use a, build in, to display text and then a, build out, to remove it
repeat the above for the other rows

How can I use an application based upon the Siebel High Interactive Framework?

I ma trying to use an application that is based upon the Siebel High Interactive Framework and can't open the software on my MacBook Pro. IS there any solution to this problem?

My vote is pick up VirtualBox and download Windows 8 Preview, both are free, and see how that goes. Even though a deveoper preview and has IE10 this is my primary OS and browser. Only issue is getting it into a VM but that should be okay, and at least you can decide from there.

I figured out "partially" the problem, I tried to overrid the create method, and for any reason the commit operation wasn´t working.
I was trying to set a value for a proprety, but it did not work as a wish.
My intention was.... when an user execute the form. one specific field brings a value.. however I cannot set default value. cause it´ll change sometimes.

Can I use special links for statistics?

I have a question. I want to upload on my podcast a new episode as a PDF file. I know that's possible. But now I want to link this file via PHP on my server, so I can see live statistics everytime when somebody downloads the file.
My new link looks like this:

With modified header information on my PHP file it is possible now, to download directly the PDF file while surfing this page. That's because the browser thinks, that file is really a unique PDF file.
So, is that in iTunes possible to use this kind of link?

That link leads to a 'file not found' error, which isn't a good start.
Using php redirects for podcast media files is a bit chancy: it can work, or it can fail. You can only try it and see what happens. You can test it by going to iTunes menu 'Advanced' and choosing 'Subscribe to Podcast' and entering your feed URL. If it works there it's fine, if not, not.

Can't use TCPIP Link Configuration

I have my GroupWise system running on single NetWare 6.5 SP7 server. I have the link configuration set as UNC but I was told it is better to use TCPIP protocol. However, when I changed the link configuration to TCPIP and said the IP address to 192.168.3.3: 7101 and client server port=1677. MTA screen will show closed Post Office=1. When I make change using C1, it won't update the GroupWise system.
I used TCPCON and port 7101 and 1677 are not in case.
How can I troubleshoot the issue?

I plan to move GWIA to a SLES11 server and that's why I want to make sure TCPIP link work now.
I did another top-down rebuilt and restarted the server and now MTA has no Closed Office. However, GWIA won't route message now but I will create a new post.

Why i can't use dynamic link between After effects and Premiere Pro?

I have installed the Creative Cloud version of After effects and Premiere Pro (only them, no other software of the suite) but i still can´t link them with dynamic link. the option is in grey, and i can't even click on it.

I'm working in a Premiere Pro project using 1920x1080 .mov archives, and the project is in the same resolution.
In Premiere pro, when i go to Archive > Dynamic Link i only have the option of send it to Encore.
Is this information enough?
