Can I use already purchased ipad apps on my macbook air such as numbers and pages?

I recently got a macbook air for a Christmas present and I have already owned my Ipad2. I purcahsed Pages and Numbers on m ipad, and I use those apps frequently in my business. Do I have to download and purchase those apps again for my macbook air or can I download and use the apps from my ipad through the cloud?

Yes.
The MBA uses OS X Platform and the iPad uses iOS platform.
Each are unique.

can I use iphoto on ipad app and synch changes back to my mac?

No, changes done on the iPad will not sync back to iPhoto on your mac.
But you can transfer the edited photos back to your mac - share them to the camera role or send them by mail. Any edited image you add to the camera roll can be imported into your iPhoto Library, when you connect your iPad to yourmac via USB.
But there is no real syncing of iPhoto libraries on your mac and IOS devices.

  • I just bought an I phone and was playing Scrabble when an advertisement popped up and I tried to go back to the game and now I can't use any of my apps because whenever I touch one they shake and have an X on them.  What did I do?I just bought an I phone

I just bought an I phone and was playing Scrabble when an advertisement popped up and I tried to go back to the game and now I can't use any of my apps because whenever I touch one they shake and have an X on them.  What did I do?

    Relax. Nothing is wrong.
You accidentally tapped-and-held a little too long and you entered what many people call "jiggly mode" - i.e. app reorganization and deletion mode. When in this mode, you can move apps around on your various home screens, create and organize app folders, and delete apps (by tapping the X).
Exit this mode by tapping your Home Button one time.

  • How can i use a second external webcam on my MacBook Air 11

How can I use a second external webcam with my MacBook Air 11" 2011?
    Are there specific compatible webcams?
Can both cams be use at same time?
How would I choose which cam would be the active one, for example with FaceTime or Skype?
    Thanks for any tips.

paolo@spring wrote: How can I use a second external webcam with my MacBook Air 11" 2011?...
Plug it in and launch the app you will use to run it.
paolo@spring wrote: ...Are there specific compatible webcams?...
Yes.  In general, any current USB model (will meet the "UVC" standard) can work on any Mac running Mac OS X 10.4.8 or newer.
    More specifically:
    (1) You have a choice of many Mac-compatible USB cam.  Some examples of current compatible cams are described at  http://www.mac-compatible-web-cam.com/.
    (2) If you want a wireless cam, consider http://ecamm.com/mac/webcam/bt1/
    (3) OS X already has everything it needs for Mac-compatible cams.  I recommend that you not add any OS X software that comes with your chosen camera to your OS X Mac, at least until you have tested your new cam without adding anything.
paolo@spring wrote:... Can both cams be use at same time?...
Multiple cameras can be connected at one time, but asking your Mac to actually use (capture and process) more than one video stream at a time might cause processor and data bus capacity problems.  The normal method is to connect your cameras and switch between them as needed, actually using only one at a time.
paolo@spring wrote:... How would I choose which cam would be the active one, for example with FaceTime or Skype?...
The software you use to operate the cameras controls that.  For more info, start with the answer in this topic link.

  • Can't use Launchpad on 10.9.5 on Macbook Air

Can't use Launchpad on 10.9.5 on Macbook Air
The Launchpad can be launched, but when I try to swipe either way, it just moves the icon panel from one side to the other but doesn't move to the next or previous page. I observed this on Macbook Air. Mac Mini seems not affected. Both system run exact copy of the system configuration and applications.
I do have a couple of 100's apps installed but I didn't see it as a problem since the Mac Mini works.

    Hey jamesondavy,
Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like you want to update the OS. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you resolve or isolate the issue.
About the OS X Mavericks v10.9.5 Update
Use Software Update to check for the latest Apple software using the Mac App Store, including this update.
Other software updates available for your computer may appear, which you should install. Note that an update's size may vary from computer to computer when installed using Software Update. Also, some updates must be installed prior to others.
You can also download the manual update installer. This is a useful option when you need to update multiple computers, but only want to download the update once. Standalone installers are available from Apple Support Downloads.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    Have a nice day,
    Mario

  • How can I use migration assistant to load my new Macbook Air?

How do I use migration assistant to load my new Macbook Air?  Can this be done only wirelessly?

No, you can transfer from a Mac wirelessly, wired ethernet, Thunderbolt or Firewire. Your older Mac must have the same connection, but you can use adaptors if necessary. For example, you can use an Ethernet cable with an Ethernet-Thunderbolt adaptor if your older Mac has an ethernet port.
Wireless tends to be pretty slow (can take many hours) so it's recommended to choose a wired connection whenever you can.

  • Can I use a 85w adaptor with my (60w) MacBook Air?

I have an old MBP and a new MBA.  Can I use the old 85w adaptor with the MBA?

    crh24 wrote:
The question to be answered is pretty simple:
"Does the increased output cause a high enough rise in temperature to shorten the life of even one of the components in the charger?"
If the answer is "yes" then do so at your own risk.  If the answer is "no", then it is safe to do so and all you face is a longer charge time.
As users with no insight into the design specifications of the charger we have no appreciable method to determine the answer to that question.  Therefore I hold the position that I will use a lower powered charger only if forced by circumstances to do so.  I will not do so as a 'routine' method of charging my devices.
Ohms Law has not been repealed!
An 85w supply connected to a 60w load will output 60w, somewhat less than it is capable of and no more than the load (your Mac) needs.
The reverse case is that a 60w supply connected to an 85w load will output 60w, less than the load needs (but more than enough to operate) and 60w is the design output so the supply will be just fine.

  • Can you use iPhone ear buds microphone with your MacBook Air?

If you use your ear buds to listen to your Facetime conversations, are also using the microphone on them to talk?

Yes you can. Any headset compatible with the iPhone works just fine for full duplex conversation on a MacBook Air of current design. The microphone and earphones are simultaneously active.

  • Can I use a T-shaped connector with my MacBook Air 1st generation?

My charger recently stopped working and I was able to get a quick replacement. However, it's one of the old models of chargers with the T-shaped connector. WIll it still work with my MacBook Air. I know it's slanted downwards so that might pose a problem. Any answers or advice?

The Magsafe 1 connectors can be used both the T and the L.
The new Magsafe 2 connectors can't because they don't fit.

  • Can I use find my iPhone to find my MacBook Air?

I have my iPhone in "find my iPhone, but I would like to find my MacBook Air also. Is there a way to do that?

Yes, you can do that. First, you need to set up Find My Mac:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2697
Then you can locate the Mac (presuming it's connected to a network and hasn't had the service turned off by some means) either from a web browser or from the app on your iPhone:

  • How can I use two apple id's on one macbook air?

I have two accounts on my macbook air and two apple id's mine and my husbands. He has his set up on his account and I have mine set up on my account. Only problem is is that it seems we can only have one id associated with the computer at one time and to change it we have to wait 90 days.
How can I get around this?

One or both of you needs to buy your music on Amazon.  Then the re-downloading process will be from the Amazon Cloud, which, for obvious reasons, does not have any restrictions about Apple ID.
