Since i noticed that there's nothing much that i can do to upgrade my laptop (Pavilion 15 -n007ax).
Can i use AMD OVERDRIVE to overclock my APU & GPU for gaming. Any help would be appreciated.

I see you are stilll unsuccessful installing the drivers as you get the blue screen.

If the graphic card passes you may wish to consider doing a restore back to a known good time or a full recovery back to factory.

On AMD Website stand's this Information about AMD Catalyst software suite 13.1:
The following notebooks are not compatible with this release:
Toshiba notebooks (please contact the notebook OEM for driver support for these notebooks)
Can nevertheless use the Version?
When does the Toshiba update come?

GPU manufacturers dont support notebooks with display drivers. Notebook manufacturers offered directly support. Directly support on mobile machines is offering adapted, optimized and tested drivers.
Due to specific design and limited cooling system possibilities display drivers are adapted and dont force GPU to run on maximum performance.
As Tony already wrote you can try to use it but on your own risk. Different notebook models have the same card and often newer models have newer display driver. I strongly recommend you usage of Toshiba drivers only.

Welcome to the Forums.
If you're referring to the stock G560 models then I'm afraid you can't use AMD with the G560 as there's only two variant of this system. One that uses an integrated Intel HD Graphics and the other usea an Nvidia GeForce 310M.

Satellite L855-10W - cannot use AMD Dynamic Switchable

Fistly sorry for my bad english,
I have Toshiba satellite L855-10w with a AMD radeon hd 7670m.
I'm wondering, why i can't use AMD Dynamic Switchable and also why i can't find Intel HD 4000 that must be integrated witch Intel I7 3610qm in my system configuration?
What do you think about this?

I read somewhere in the internet that the AMD Dynamic Switchable feature is not supported on Toshiba notebooks.
It seems that only nVidia Optimus Technology (for notebooks with nVidia graphic chip) is supported.

Which one is better to use?
I don't Overclock yet, but if and when I do, which is better to use or do i use both? Do you have a better suggestion & can up point me in the right direction if you do? Either way, I would appreciate your help & knowledge. Thank you!

I installed amd overdrive version 2.1.6 from www.brothersoft.com/amd-overdrive-232055.html when it installs it says it cant find a AMD 7 series chipset on my computer. what version of amd do i need and where can i get it?

I knew that, i have the easy OC switches on my board, should i use those, then fine tune it with bios? and what in bios should i change?

K9A2 Platinum 9950 and AMD overdrive

Ive been gathering overclocking info for ages now and Ive never really tried much. Ive just upgraded to the AM2+ platform from my old 939 box. Ive just discovered the AMD overdrive utility and have been playing with it in novice mode. I slid the bar notch by notch until I reached level 10, the highest in novice mode. It really didnt do much it seems, now my 2.6ghz cpu is running at a blazing 2665.36 after using the novice mode to max . Looks like all its done is raise the PCIe clock to 110, HT ref. clock to 205 and the memory clock to 410. Nice little baby steps . It passed the stability test no sweat. What I was wondering was how effective is the auto clock feature? Does it overclock until it finds a max oc or can you stop the process when you are satisfied with the progress (example whan it reaches 2.8 can I just stop it and test the stability?). How is the utility overall? I know its better to do it in the BIOS but for a novice like me it seems like a safer option.

I registered my new ipod nano 7th generation on my macbook pro. While on my macbook, I tried to download wma audiobooks from the library using overdrive media console & its not working.....so, I decided to use my windows laptop. I have the latest version of itunes on both laptops. (I know I can download & transfer wma audiobooks to my shuffle using overdrive media console & windows laptop.) I'm getting an error message that says I have to reformat my nano if I want to download wma audiobooks. Can I use my nano on macbook pro & windows laptop? will I ever be able to download wma audiobooks to my nano using macbook?

Your iPod Nano will need to be restored in iTunes on the Windows laptop before you can start adding/syncing content over to it.
Or if you want to use it with OverDrive on the Mac, you'll need to download the books as MP3s as WMA is not supported.

Here are the specs for your HP TouchSmart 520-1070 Desktop Computer. As previously stated your computer Doesn't have a HDMI output, instead it has a HDMI input. This is designed to let you connect a game console, a DVD/Bluray player, etc. to use as a monitor.
If you wish to conect a second monitor to your computer, you will need to use a USB-to-video adapter such as the EVGA UV Plus+ UV39 or EVGA UV Plus+ UV19. Using an adapter like these with the touch feature of your computer may cause issues with pointer control and you may need to disable the touch feature to use "extended desktop".

Can I use iMac's HDD as a second, bootable drive for new PC?

When I replace an old PC with a new PC, I always keep the old HDD around in case I need to boot into it for some reason. I simply plug it in, select it as the boot drive, and it's sort of like using my old PC again.
Can I also do this with my iMac's HDD and a new PC? So I could effectively dual boot between my existing Windows OS on my PC's SSD, and OSX using my old iMac's HDD?
When I do this with two HDDs each using Windows, all the drivers for the new hardware "plug-and-play" the first time I boot with the old HDD, so input and display works. I'm not sure if I'll have the same luxury in this scenario or if I'd need to pre-load new drivers so OSX works with the PC's hardware. My iMac has a AMD (well it was still ATI back in 2009) Radeon HD 4850. I had this same card in an old PC so I would hope the display would still work as well, or worst case scenario I could simultaneously use the iMac HDD with the Radeon 4850 in a PC.
I have a lot of computers sitting around and I'm moving soon, so I want to consolidate what I can so I don't have to take so much with me when I move. My iMac's display is no good (barely functional, definitely not pretty) so I don't want to keep the big iMac around anymore if I can just keep the little HDD.
Of course I back up important files and can always read the HDD from a PC, but I'm interested in seeing if I can still use the drive for booting into OSX.
I'm sure someone's tried to do this before, but my searches turned up with nothing. I'll greatly appreciate any guidance, suggestions, or general thoughts about how I could achieve this. I don't mind getting my hands dirty if a solution exists but isn't simple. Thanks in advance for your input!

If your talking about booting the PC into OSX, then google hackintosh.

MSI 290X Can't use Displayport and HMDI at the same time

Howdy:
I have two monitors running Win 7. 1. ASUS Black 24" 2ms HDMI LED monitor connected to the HDMI of my MSI R9 290X Lightning and a Dell VGA connected via Cable Matters DisplayPort to VGA adapter. Both monitors go black if I try to connect both. When I boot with both I get the splash screen but then nothing afterward. I can boot with either of the above connected separately to their respective plugs but not both.
Is there something I'm missing? I've cleaned out all of the shadowed displays in the device manager leaving only the highlighted PnP Monitor which has always been there.
Both monitors worked just fine via the HDMI and VGA to DVI-I adapter on a Gigbyte HD 7870. But since the 290x only has HDMI, DVI-D and DispayPort I am left with using the Output display for the Dell VGA monitor.
Any ideas how I can get my system to run the Dell VGA to DisplayPort?
Dell VGA to DisplayPort adapter to displayport works if only this is connected.
ASUS HDMI works if only this is connected.
Both go black if either of the above is then connected as the 2nd monitor.
Currently using AMD 14.12 Omega drivers

Yes, when I unplug any of the cables the connected monitor comes on. I did boot with the HDMI connected, in CCC I then plugged in the VGA to Displayport (DP) monitor. The DP Monitor icon appears but is said to be disabled. It remains disabled after clicking "detect"
In the device manager, both Generic PnP Monitor properties report "This device is working properly". When I unplug the DP monitor, the icon greys out.
I tried "extend" and "duplicate" but then the HDMI goes black and with the DP VGA remaining black. Unplugging and replugging either does not bring either monitor back. I have to reboot to get the HDMI to work again.
If I choose "Eyefinitety" then both monitors will work, but as the DP VGA default monitor. This causes the Larger ASUS monitor to default to a much lower res. I can not make the HDMI monitor the default as this point.
Only twice I've been able to get the DP monitor to work with the HDMI monitor via waiting 10 sec or so after booting to Windows then plugging the DP monitor in. Everything worked perfectly. Went I booted up the next day the DP monitor didn;t come on. That was 4 days ago and I haven't been able to get the displayport monitor to work since.

This is the deal.....I'm enrolled at Phoneix Online to bump my total credits up so I can go to the Navy in a higher paygrade..(laptops important..mobility) On land I use Pro Tools LE on my old G4 desktop so I want to stay with the Apple platform because of session transfers, and I just know Macs a little better than PC's (comfort factor).

Buy an ibook or a Powerbook – the best you can afford.
Buy the latest version 'student' version of MS Office for Mac – it's not that expensive.
Don't bother buying Virtual PC, as it's slow and time/money wasting.
You'll be covered for Word, Excel and Powerpoint (although I use Keynote, it's better, and it will import Powerpoint files easily).
You won't have Access for databases; instead buy Appleworks, as it has a database feature (quite powerful), although you won't be able to open Access files – there maybe third-party app's that can convert, try http://www.dataviz.com.
You won't have Visio (it's a flowchart app. by the way) either, but you can use OmniGraffle (http://www.omnigroup.com/) – it's very good.

I have got an old printer StyleWriter II, can I use it with my notebook(not Mac, Windows System XP, AMD Turion Processor)? if can, where can I get the drives and which kind of cables to use to connect to computer and also the power cable?

Years ago I bought some printer simulation software to allow cross platform printing - you would pick an XP supported printer and then print to the simulator - but it was slow and unreliable. New hardware is so cheap that no one wants to write code for legacy ink jet printers.

I am looking to upgrade my card, currently using a pny, Nvidia 6200 gt. I am having a lot of problems with excess heat. I was wondering if I could use a slimline card, and if it would help with heat dissipation. I have a 600 w power supply.

You can definitely use a low profile card, but I don't believe that it will help with the heat problem. I suggest going with an ATI / AMD chip based card. AMD has Catalyst Control Center software that allows you to adjust the fan speed and overclock the card if you desire. I like XFX, BFG, EVGA, Sapphire and PNY video cards in that order. These are high quality manufacturers.
