  • How do i use my phone number instead of my apple id for imessage on my iphone5?

I accidentally selected my apple id for sending and receiving imessages. I want to be reached at my phone number and not my email first, but I can't figure out how to make my phone number the primary and my email the secondary.
Also, my son and I are in a text message mode between our phones (both apple products) and we can't figure out how to get back to imessage mode. We have both powered off and shut down imessage and we are still going green to each other.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can log into Apple's services (such as iCloud et al) with your iCloud email address if that's what you mean.

Can I use my icloud email address as an apple id?

    Are you sure?

    "I noticed the following :
If you attempt to create an Apple ID which is the same as your @icloud email address from the online facility, it does not allow you (can't use an Apple associated email address as your Apple ID). However - if you start a fresh device - such as a new iPhone, iPad(must be mobile it seems), and then create an iCloud account and Apple ID from the prompts when setting up the mobile device, it IS possible to have your Apple ID and @iCloud email address as the same. I know because I just did it!
Unfortunately for me, the result I got above is not for one of my own ID's but a friends, and I would VERY much like to do the same - my current Apple ID is a completely different email address from my iCloud account. Trying to get them the same in my situation is a major bother - I think that if I wipe a device (such as an iPhone5 that is mine) and try to setup as I did my friend's device, then I will get a conflict because theiCloud email I have ALREADY exists. This is my worry and I will not attempt this until I get the new iPad 4 soon to test this.
There is an inconsistency here between the two methods of creating Apple ID's andiCloud accounts.
Overall in my opinion, the Apple ID system as currently available from Apple is not designed very well, and should be addressed."

  • Can I use my icloud email address as my Apple ID?

    Hi,
I have tried searching for an answer to this but couldn't find one.  To me, it would seem like the logical thing to do.  The reason I ask, however, is that when you go to create an Apple ID it states the two criteria are (1) it has to be a verified/established email address, and (2) it cannot be an Apple domain.  I'm assuming 'iCloud.com' is considered a domain?
Can anyone advise on this, please?

You can't use a @me.com, @mac.com or @icloud.com address as an Apple ID because they are registered to an Apple ID. However, you can set them as the main Apple ID email account, but not as the Apple ID

  • How can i use my aol email address to create apple id?, how can i use my aol email address to create apple id?, how can i use my aol email address to create apple id?

I'm trying to set up icloud account and it won't accept my current apple ID which is my aol email address.  I don't want to have to use a me.com address.

You will need to remove it as your rescue email : log into your account via the 'manage your apple id' button on http://appleid.apple.com, select the 'Password And Security' section on your account's screen, and answer the two security questions that show - you should then be taken to another screen where you can change or remove your rescue email address.
Then try logging out of your account and then log back in and see if you can then use it as your primary email address.

  • Can I add a 2nd iPhone number to my Apple ID for iMessages?

I have 2 iPhones and 1 Apple ID. On both my iMac and MBP (both using Mountain Lion), only 1 number shows up and it's my wife's number. This isn't even the number I have assiciated with my Apple ID. When I try using Messages, on either computer, to send her a text, she gets the message from her and I see both what I sent and then a second later it pops up a second time since it thinks I'm sending from her number. When I go into Setting > Accounts, it shows my email and her number.
    How do I fix this?

After filling in the 1st screen, hold down the option/alt key while clicking Continue. Fill in the necessary information, then click continue until all screens are filled in.

  • Can I use an alternate outgoing server in mail on ipad2?

I would like to use the gmail server gmail as my primary outgoing server rather than my me.com account. I can't seem to turn off the primary server it only allows me to add an additional sever as a secondary or back up.  Thoughts?
Basically I want my reply emails to show as from my gmail account.

yes you certainly can. and by searching those keywords on google you'll find very detailed step by step setup guides.
but i recommend you using a third party app instead of the apple Mail for one big reason:
if you use Mail to send messages, your sent mail will not be stored under your gmail server, meaning, as you go on to the actual Gmail webpage, you wont be able to find the messages you sent from apple's Mail app.. if you have been using Gmail as your primary email database, i highly recommend you not to use the default Mail app.. I only use apple Mail to download attachments to iphone/ipad and open/save them with different apps (such as Phone Drive, Downloads..etc) which have the ability to open different file formats and have a file manager system.

  • Sending email using an alternate email address

I use a permanent email forwarding service from my university for all my email. All my contacts know only this address which never changes regardless of who my ISP is. I want the messages I send from my iPhone to show this address as my sending address, not the actual ISP address. How can I set up my iPhone to do this? I was able to do it on my old Blackberry. Thanks!

    Not natively with Exchange.
You will need 3rd party software if you want to have only one mailbox and the ability to send as any of the proxy addresses associated with it
    Example:
    http://www.ivasoft.biz/choosefrom2007.shtml
Not sure if Exchange 2013 is supported with it yet

  • Can I use the same email address for multiple seats in Creative Cloud for Teams?

Can I use the same email address for multiple seats in Creative Cloud for Teams?

    No. http://www.adobe.com/products/creativecloud/faq.html
Can I buy more than one membership to an individual offering of Creative Cloud?
No, Adobe has moved to identity-based licensing with a technology that will not support multiple same-product licenses, so you can buy only one membership per Adobe ID. If you need two Creative Cloud memberships, you will need to purchase each with a unique Adobe ID. You can also purchase a Creative Cloud for teams membership, which allows you to purchase and manage multiple seats under one account.

  • Can I use the same email address for facetime on 2 different devices (ipod touch and a mini)

can I use the same email address for facetime on 2 different devices (ipod touch and a mini)?
I've set up my daughters ipod touch last year all fine. She's had a mini this yr but when setting up facetime and entering her email address, which is used on the touch, I get an error message saying the address is already being used.
I thought you can use the same email address on multiple devices.

I have four different email addresses setup on my Mac, iPod Touch and my two iPads that I can select from and use as the email address with no problems at all.
Turn off FaceTime, and sign out of the Apple ID in the FaceTime settings, restart the iPad and try again. Turn FaceTime on again, sign in with the Apple ID and then try the email address again.
