Can I use an ipad for this

I keep a card file that i carry with me in my car to keep track of the sales calls I make to my clients. its basic info about the client along with each visits notes. it is very handy when I need to see what we talked about last time or follow up issues that we need to resolve.
My question is can i do this with an ipad, perhaps there is an app or software out there that does this. I know that it would be much faster than digging through card. The perfect software/app would let me pull up a customer fast, add notes and set reminders alarms on what I need to do later. It would also be a big benifit to be able to pull multiple customers accounts up and put them in one place, labile them so i know what and who I need to see that day before leaving the house.
I don't know if I can find the perfect solution but something close could be of big help to me

maybe you could try Evernote (available in APPSTORE) to keep track of your reminders. You could use built-in contacts to save your customers contact though or if you are not satisfied enough with it, search in appstore for everything you need, there's plenty of 'em.

1) I don't think you can really scratch the screen with the Jot Script. I don't have a screen protector, but I have reasons to think it will still work if you have one (I tried the Scrip through a think sheet of plastic, and I still works: more on that in my next video).
2) It's true that the Script is noisy, but as I often say: have you ever tried to focus on the background noise of, say, a classroom? It is very noisy too! I'm always surprised by how good our brain is to filter background noises. So really, it depends on your environment and on the ability of your brain to filter noise. For me, I'd rather use a stylus that is a little noisy but very precise. It also depends on how you write text: as you can see on my video, I don't lift my pen very often, I write big groups of letters together.
3) You should watch my latest video about that: I talk about Memo and Notes Plus. Memo has a handwriting technology that you can test for free, and buy as an in-app purchase inside Notes Plus, to use in a realy note-taking app. In Notes Plus, you can indeed convert just selected areas containing text.
4) It won't have a text convertor, not in the next update. Maybe latter!

This is an older photo but the sleep and home buttons are still in the same place on all iPads. The home button is the round button at the bottom of the iPad and the sleep button is also called the on/off button and it is at the top right corner of the iPad.

Can this be put on the "to do" list for devs?

Have you tried the Remote app on iPhone/iPad to control AppleTV, do searches etc? Should be easier than the remote alone and this does not involve Airplay.
Please note, only users read/comment here - your idea is quite sensible in my view (maybe have a 'Continue viewing on AppleTV' option or something. I doubt this would be high on Apple's roadmap but send them feedback here:

Try to Reset your device:
Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears (ignore the Slide to Power Off option that shows up first).

The 2 GB requirement is memory, not storage space. 1 GB of memory will not run Yosemite let alone apps and Yosemite. Your model of iMac can use 6 GB of RAM. If you expect to use Yosemite and any apps with any efficiency upgrade your memory to 6 GB with a 2 GB and a 4 GB module. Can I use Home Sharing for this...

I have 3 iphones (2 x 6's and 1 x 5), and an ipad, all of which I use one iTunes account. iTunes and Mac software all up to date
Is it possible to use Home Sharing to sync them all exactly the same or is the a better/smarter way to do this.
I have tries to sync them separately and it sort of works when it comes to contacts, apps etc but I want my playlist t be the same and can't seem to get that correct.

what i am trying to do is have a parent cluster witch has a file name and some free space to put is children's data in with decorations at the bottom.
i then need to have a child with a graph in the middle blank space of the parent.
i also need to have another child with a table in the middle blank space.
can i do this with classes or do i need to use typdefs.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean. The classes that you create in LabVIEW 8.2 are meant to be containers for data and methods, not displayable items. Even though a class's private data members are defined in a cluster, you can't think of a class and a cluster as the same thing. A cluster is an object that you can use to bundle different kinds of information together. You can also design a cluster to be displayed on a front panel.
If you want to use LabVIEW's object oriented features, I would suggest creating a class which stores your objects data (non displayable). You could then create a method on your class to convert some of its internal data into a cluster which can be displayed to the user.

No, the iPad is an iOS device, running a lightweight operating system. It does not run MacOS (which is what you want to run Microsoft Office and AutoCAD) like an iMac, Mac Pro, Mac Mini, MacBook, MacBook Air or MacBook Pro.

I suggest you visit an Apple Store to get your hands on the products for yourselves. The staff is very knowledgeable and will help you find the right solution for your needs.
Edit: Color me surprised, a mobile version! I would check with the Engineering department and see if using the mobile version is suitable or not as it has a limited tool set. I would lean towards a laptop like the other poster above.

Did you try rebooting?
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

Can I use the iPad to create video of notetaking with audio?

I'm looking to use iBook Author to create some units of study for my students. I want to create a video that is just of my notes (not of my hand writing the notes) and an audio of me explaining what I'm doing while I'm writing the notes. Is there a way to use the iPad for this, or is there a program or an app that I could use for this? I also have a MacBook Pro and an iPhone in addition to my iPad.
Edited to add: What I'm thinking of is somewhat like the Khan Academy uses to teach students in their videos. It's just their writing with audio, but it's not a video of them writing, which makes me think that there's some app or software they're using to show the notetaking that records audio and turns it into a video.

Screenchomp is a good app that we use at a school for this - its owned by Techsmith, the same company that owns Jing and Camtasia, two leaders in the market. Two other options to look at (which I preferred to Screenchomp) are ShowMe and Educreations.

If you scanned the documents - what format did you save them in - pdf? If so, Pages will not open pdf files. you can save a file and export it as a pdf from Pages - but not the other way around.
If you need simply view the documents - you can send them to the iPad via email or DropBox and them open and save them in iBooks. or Adobe Reader. both apps are free. Adobe Reader can use file sharing in iTunes to transfer the files.
If you need to annotate the files - you will need an app like Goodreader - which can use file sharing from iTunes in order to transfer the files as well. GoodReader may work with iCloud now, but you will have to check that out in the App Store.
You can read this to see how to use file sharing. It really is pretty easy to use. You do need to do this with your computer.

That will depend on how you buy the iPad.
If you buy it from an Apple Store directly at full price it will be unlocked, and can take a sim card from any compatible GSM carrier.
If you buy it directly from T-Mobile under a subsidy(at a discount price tied to a service contract) Then it may be locked to T-Mobile for at least 40 days of service with them.
