Can i use another iphone 4s just to back up my sim

Hello, i recently updated my 4s to ios7 which caused a whole bunch of problems as you are probably aware of. I took my 4s to apple, got fobbed off and sent to Carphone Warehouse where i got it from. I managed to get it swapped for a 5c by doing an early upgrade which they managed to get down to £50, however my sim had not backed up properly on my itunes or icloud so when i restored everything onto the new 5c, I lost all my game saves etc.
I still have the old 4s sim, but not the iphone as it was traded in as part of the deal. But my wife still has her 4s because she never updated it to ios7.
So here are a few questions i have based on the above info...
Can i switch my wife's 4s sim out temporarily for my old 4s sim just so i can connect to itunes or icloud and back it up?
Will my sim now work in her phone with her having the older version of ios?
Will my sim naff up her phone because my phone had ios7 on it and made it faulty?
Can i still back up the sim even though the number has been transferred to my new sim already?
And if i can back it up, will i be able to re-restore this back up to my 5c without issue?
The 4s was my first apple product so i'm not very confident with just going ahead with things as i am worried it will not work or that i will naff up my wife's 4s so any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

The iPhone does not store anything at all on the SIM. There is nothing on it to back up.

  • Can I use the iPhone 4 just like an iPod?

Is it possible that if I purchase the iPhone 4, I can use it as an iPod? Like I don't wanna male phone calls nor have a cellphone number. The same way I use my iPod, the same I would use the iPhone 4. Is that possible? ,

    Truee. Nah.
Is just that I entered this Taptivate thing to win a free Customize iPhone 4. But I dont have an at&t contract. Lol. But im guessing, theres no point in doing that. I just have to stick with my 3rd Gen. 32 Gig.

  • Can I use my iPhone 3Gs in Japan with a Japanese Sim-Card?

    Hi there,
three years ago I've been to Japan for an exchange study program and at that time I had a HTC but as far as I remember, since Japanese people didn't have Sim-Cards, I had to buy a brand-new Softbank's mobile phone.
So since I got another scholarship for Kyoto, I was wondering if something has been changing in these last three year and if I could eventually use my Italian iPhone 3Gs by inserting a Softbank o AU or Docomo's Sim-Card.
Thank you in advance for your precious help and sorry for my poor English

    Hello
You can only use your 3Gs in another country if it is NOT locked to an Italian carrier Or
you can get it unlocked if it is so restricted
I assume someone with knowledge of the Japanese market can comment on the availability of a suitable sim but your iPhone must be unlocked before you can use another carrier's sim

Every time I switch on the iPhone, the iTunes icon is displayed together with a USB icon and Emergency call message appears on the screen in many languages. When I touch the i symbol I get the following information IMEI: **** AND ICCID: ****
However, the iphone is visible in the Devices directory in iTunes. I changed my SIM card but still can not be recognized by the iPhone.

  • Can i use the iphone 4s that is on an at&t contact in another country?

can i use the iphone 4s that is on an at&t contact in another country?

    Short answer: yes, with limitations
Long Answer: AT&T has roaming agreements with other providers in foreign countries, so it will automatically work there, but you will be paying AT&T's roaming charges which are very expensive even if you have the $25 international roaming add-on. Of course that is just for voice, not including how much data might cost.
If you want to use the local country providers at their local pricing, then you want an unlocked phone (like the ones available in November from Apple).
Outside of that, there are other options, but you should research those somewhere else.

how can i use another icloud account in my iphone? can i pay one?? where?
My phone has reached the maximum number of free accounts activated where can I buy one to use?

You can't buy another one.  You have to reuse one of the accounts previously set up on your phone, or create a new one to use on another iOS device (running iOS 5 or higher) or Mac (running OS X 10.7.2 or higher), if you have one.

Hey, as far as I know you need a sim card to activate after a restore
It however does not have to be a fully working sim card, just not blocked or with a pass code, I repair/refurb. some iPhones and can only advise to try and get a free sim card from a provider supported on your phone and activate it with this,  or maybe someone can lend you theirs for 5 mins?
To clarify, I have heard there are ways around this, but they sound dubious.

  • Can i use the iphone just for the ipod and wifi without simcard

can i use the iphone just for the ipod and wifi without simcard

Forgive me as I did this a while ago, but heres how I remember it happening:
    1. I wiped it
    2. I selected "Set up as New iPhone"
    3. It registered
    4. It was activated, and was an iPod Touch basically
    5. I sold it, so I can't try it. I now use Verizon, so no SIM, although I do have an original iPhone (retired), but can't find my old SIM.

  • Can I use my iPhone SIM card in another phone?

While I save up to get my iphone repaired, can I use my iPhone sim card in my Motorolla Rockr (my prior phone) or do I need to buy a new one? ATT said the sim in my Rockr is permanently disabled...
I would just try it but I'm at work and don't have my iphone here. I want to pickup a sim card on my way home if I can't...

You can use the sim card from the iPhone in any AT&T phone.

Yes, you can. The iPhone 4S and 6th generation iPod nano use the same 30-pin charger, unlike the new Lightning charger used by the iPhone 5 and 7th generation iPod nano.

Help! I have just broken my iPad charger, can I use my iPhone charger instead? What's the difference?

As far as I know there is no difference, we use the same charger for iphone, ipad, ipod, etc.. and no problem.
    edit:
There is a statement from Apple that confirms this : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4327

Not really, no. I suppose in theory, but there is no way to manage the library, or retrieve the match contents for back up or other purposes.

Is it would warranty?  Can I repair in any country? if I buy iPhone6 or 6+ at an Apple Store.
I don't want a contract so I will buy an iPhone6 at AppleStore in Bright.

As of now, they do not offer an unlocked option.

  • Can i activate iphone 5c using another iphone? please reply ASAP

so i got an iphone 5c and im going on vacation and im going to activate it after i come back. so can i use the iphone 5 sim to activate this phone? please reply

You were told you could use the other SIM, so long as it was one the carrier your phone is locked to, if locked, and it the phone is unlocked it wouldn't matter. You could use it as an iPod then, but it has to be activated and activation requires a SIM.
If the phone you have is locked to a carrier other than the one your friend's SIM is from, then you cannot use their SIM. If the phone is unlocked, then you could use their SIM.
