Can I use apple tv 2nd generation in the philippines?

I bought an apple tv 2nd generation in US and I'w like to know if it will work in the Philippines. My apple ID is also from Philippines.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Yes the Apple TV will work in the Philippines although you may need to change the power cord or plug.
Unfortunately the Philippines store doesn't have movies or TV shows, so you couldn't use those particular features with your account.

i'm gettin an error message when I try to play a movie a rented using Apple TV 2nd generation. How do I solve this?

I don't believe I've seen a solution to that error code. There's a new version of iTunes out, have you installed it yet, it might be worth trying. You might also try restarting your Apple TV and router.

  • I have updated my apple tv 2nd generation to the latest software but it shows the itunes symbol with the usb. Anyone know why this might be? Thanks

If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
    Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Source list, and then click Restore.

  • Can you use apple TV first generation to control home stereo without a tv?

We have a 1st generation Apple TV and wold like to use it to control our home stereo WITHOUT A TV CONNECTED.  Anyone have any experience with this? We would like to use our iPhones over our home wifi to control our surround sound system (no tv in this area of the house).  Would like to know our options. Thanks!

HDMI is the only supported method. There will be no guarantee with any converter. If it does work you will be unable to play protected content (ie iTunes, Netflix)

  • Apple TV (2nd Generation) -- Why the slow rentals?  WHY?!?

Why does the current version of Apple TV not work? Why will it stream Netflix, YouTube, and AirPlay items with no problem and yet chokes on iTunes rentals? Why was it marketed to stream rentals? Why is it still Apple’s hobby and not a full-fledged device that, well let’s see… does what the <BAD WORD> it’s supposed to?
What follows below is a transcript of my experiences after receiving three rental credits because I made the mistake of renting “Elf” in HD for a group of kids and the Apple TV sputtered and stopped playing the video and then told me that said video would be ready to play in 3 hours which prompted me to lodge a complaint with customer support which had no explanation and provided me three credits for my problem <INTENTIONALLY LONG SENTENCE, BUT STILL MUCH SHORTER THAN THE TIME IT TAKES FOR APPLE TV TO LOAD A RENTAL>.
Rental credit 1 of 3. Used it to rent a movie.
 Connection: Apple TV via WIFI to Airport Extreme (latest model – 802.11n / 5GHz) to internet connection with 15Mbps download speed.
 Result: Pressed play, got loading circle, then message indicating movie would be ready to watch in 2h 40m. Then 3h 2m. Then 2h 35m. Then 2h 56m.
 Overall Experience: Horrendous. <VULGAR WORD> infuriating. Since I pressed play, the 24h window commenced and I wasn’t able to watch the movie the next evening.
 Final Outcome: Rental credit 1 of 3 used to watch nothing. Zero. Zip. 24h window expired with no viewing of film.
    One week later…
Rental credit 2 of 3. Used it to rent the same movie above trying a different configuration.
 Pre-Rental: Performed hard reset of Apple TV and ensured latest version of software was loaded. Checked all connections.
 Connection: Apple TV via ETHERNET CABLE to Extreme to internet connection with 15Mbps download speed.
 Result: Pressed play, got loading circle, then message indicating movie would be ready to watch in 1h 40m. Then 2h 2m. Then 1h 16m. Then 1h 27m. Ran internet speed test on MacBook. Speed clocked at 14.27Mbps download and 3.39MBps upload.
     Overall Experience: <EXPLETIVE> horrendous. Double <PROFANITY> infuriating. Since I <BEGINS WITH F> pressed <FOUR LETTER BAD WORD> play, the <MOTHER WHO?> 24h window commenced and we weren’t able to watch <ANOTHER WORD FOR #2>. Check that… Couldn’t even watch <ANOTHER WORD FOR #2>. <RHYMES WITH DUCK>!
 Final Outcome: Rental credit 2 of 3 used to watch nothing. Zero. Zip. 24h window expired with no viewing of film.
Pop quiz… What should I do with rental credit 3?

ATV2 works just fine with iTunes rentals, as long as your internet is reasonably fast. So help us help you -- what sort of speeds are you getting from your ISP? Not what it's rated at, what is your measured speed (use something like speedtest.net).
As far as why Netflix, YouTube, and Airplay can work fine, YouTube is not high resolution so you generally wouldn't have a problem unless your internet is very slow. AirPlay doesn't even use the internet, so that's a non-issue here.
Netflix's streaming technology is different from iTunes -- Netflix will slightly downgrade the video quality if the bandwidth is not good enough. But rentals from iTunes are queued up in your ATV2 with what it estimates is sufficient buffer to not run into problems with a slow network, but if the network is so slow that the buffer isn't big enough you'll have problems, particularly with HD rentals. Also, note that not much Netflix content is HD, so that can be another reason for the difference.

  • Can I use apple 3rd generation ipad (MD369LL/A) with AT&T internationally. can I have a local carrier service in asia or is 3rd generation ipad locked

Can I use apple IPAD 3rd generation MD369LL/A with at&t internationally with local carriers in asia. Is this i-pad locked to international carriers.

The iPad is not locked to AT&T. You should be able to use it with any compatible carrier anywhere in the world. You'll just need a SIM for the carrier you wish to use, and they'll of course have to offer a data plan for the iPad.
    Regards.

  • Can you use Apple TV to run Ap Players on your TV

I use the comcast xfinity player and the ABC player on my  to watch on-line content.  I also access their respective web site directly from the Mac desktop to watch contents on-line as I cant run them through on my HDMI cabapable TV as my PS3 has an incompatable operating system with the flash player to view those applications or web content on-line,
Can I use Apple TV to run either the Aps through my TV or to directly access content from on-line sites?  (and yes, I know I can hook my mac to my tv directly via an HDMI cable, but it wont work with my stereo system and the audio is substandard)

No, the copyright holders have too many restrictions on how you are allowed to distribut content.  So you can not stream copyrighted content over AirPlay, and ATV does not support flash.   You can only watch content on ATV that there is an app for on ATV.  i.e Netflix, Hulu, MBA, etc. etc. etc.  Sorry.

  • Can I trade in my iPad 2nd generation at the Apple Store?

Can I trade in my iPad 2nd generation at the Apple Store?

No.  Apple does not take direct trade-ins.  You can sell the iPad, or use one of Apple's Recycling partners to get a gift card for the value of the iPad you can then use in the store.   But you'll get more money if you sell it yourself.

  • Apple TV 1st generation cannot use AirTunes with Apple TV 2nd generation or Airport express 2nd generation

Is it normal that Apple TV 1st generation cannot use AirTunes with Apple TV 2nd generation or Airport express 2nd generation? I want to play music synced in my ATV 1st gen. to a nymber of speakers in the house. In the list of speakers I can see Apple TV itself and my two Airport Expresses 1st generation but not my Apple TV 2nd generation or my Airport express 2nd generation. For the ATV 2nd gen. I found a solution: when I enable the Airplay setting of XBMC which is installed on my ATV 2nd generation, then AirTunes in ATV 1st gen. sees the speaker "XBMS (Apple-TV)". Itunes can in my Macbook pro can use Airplay with all my speakers, i.e. ATV 1st gen., ATV 2nd gen., Airport Express 1st gen., Airport Express 2nd gen.

Last time I checked ATV1 could not use Airtunes to send audio to an AppleTV 2 or 3 - highly annoying as you think they would have kept backwards compatibiility for audio, but it seems Airplay is more than a superset of Airtunes.

  • TS3989 How do I accept iCloud updated terms of service on Apple TV 2nd generation using only an iMac computer, since I have no other iOS devices?

I just updated my Apple TV 2nd generation, and upon completion it would no longer give access to Photo Stream. Instead I was told that I needed to accept the change in iCloud terms of service without letting me know how to do that on an iMac, since I don't have any other iOS devices. Where do I go to accept these terms of service changes, in order to continue to use Photo Stream. Is there an easy answer, or is this Apple's way of forcing me to buy products that I don't need?

i guess you could put the aiport utility app on your iphone, click on the aiport express there, it will show you how many devices are connected to it and the mac addresses of those devices.
