Can I use CS5 Student and Teacher Edition for pc, on a Mac instead?

I have Adobe Creative Suite CS5 Student and teacher PC version and am looking to possibly upgrade from a pc laptop to a 27" imac.
Is it possible for me to still use the software for the imac. If so, what are my options please?

  • Re-installing Photoshop CS5 Extended Student and Teacher Edition (for Mac)?

How can I download and re-install Photoshop CS5 Extended Student and Teacher Edition (for Mac) for which I have a licence?  I lost the previous version in a disk crash.  I tried downloading the full Photoshop CS5 installer, but I was told I couldn't run the installer because I didn't have permission.
    Thanks,
    Rodney

Here is the link for the  CS5 installers: Download CS5 products
Be sure to right click and run the installer as an administrator if you have trouble. If it still fails, download the installer again.

  • My father-in-law passed recently, leaving behind an unopened copy of CS 5.5 Master Collection Student and Teacher Edition for Macs.  How can I find out if he registered this software without opening it?

    Hello forum,
Hopefully a simple question.  My father-in-law passed recently, leaving behind an unopened copy of CS 5.5 Master Collection Student and Teacher Edition for Macs.  How can I find out if he registered this software without opening it?  After finding out how much this software runs, I'd like to sell or return it if possible to give the money to my mother-in-law for funeral costs.
    Thank you,
    Bichonfreeze

    Mylenium,
    Thanks for the quick response!
Thats a shame that it can't be used. Are you sure I couldn't donate the software to a university or school?  It just seems like a big waste for something so expensive.

  • CS5 Student and Teacher Edition unable to get Serial

    Hi there,
I just received my package with the new CS5 Student and Teacher Edition (German) and I tried to follow the instructions to get my serial.
The package contains a smal leaflet with an alphanumerical number XXXXX-9999999 on it that tells me to go to www.adobe.com/go/eduverify_de in order to get my serial.
However, when I go there and follow the link to "get serial number" it leads me to http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/support/index.cfm?event=opencscase&loc=de&issue=z015&csedutyp e=RTL but this page is down!, it says "Site Area Temporarily Unavailable" and a bunch of Chinese letters, which are especially helpful when you are a German user!
It seems this is the ONE and ONLY site where I could get my serial by sending my credentials as a teacher (which will take another couple of days as I was told...).
Now what? I've tried to reach the site over the course of a day, but it's still down. Adobe, help!

    Hi,
I've also got the same problem.
I called up the customer service and got a recording that they are doing maintenance on their systems all weekend. They expect this to be finished midnight on 18 July.
So, I guess we both try again tomorrow!

  • Why is the download "Not applicable" for my online purchase of Adobe Captivate 8 Student and Teacher Edition for Mac?

I purchased “Adobe Captivate 8 Student and Teacher Edition” for Mac on 7/31/14 and it is now 12/17/14 (only 5 months later) but it is showing as “Not applicable” when I go to download (maybe re-download) the program. I understood that I would be able to use the application on 2 computers, one at home and one at work. I think I’ve downloaded the program at home one time but have yet to install and activate it. I now have a new computer at work that can support that program and want to install the program on my office computer, but cannot download it again. Please advise.

It seems like that you have purchased a subscription for Captivate 8. In subscription you do not require any serial number. Subscriptions are activated on the basis of your Adobe Id. When user will install Captivate he has to sign in with the same Adobe Id under which they bought subscription. It will get activated after successful sign in during the installation.
As far as the installer is concern there is no difference in the trial version installer or purchased version installer. The installer is same for trial and purchased copy. All user needs to do is sign in during the installation if it is a subscription or use his serial number if it is a perpetual license or volume license.
You may download the trial version from the link mentioned above and then use your Adobe Id to activate the subscription.
Please let me know in case you need any further information.
    Regards,
    Rajeev.

  • Will ACR 6.7 download work with CS5 Student and Teacher Edition?

I still have the student and teacher's edition of CS5 and LR3.  (Waiting for CS6 to take off the training wheels and get the grown up version.)  I've downloaded the trial of LR4.1 and ACR 6.7 in hopes that I can convert and import RAW files from a 5D Mark III, but so far I've met with nothing but frustration.  I think I'm doing everything else right so I suspect this is the issue, but if not I'll need to continue my troubleshooting to see where else in the process I'm fouling up.  Thanks.

Yes, there is such a thing.  Apparently it's even priced lower than the "Academic or educational Discount".
I learned about it a few moths ago and never pursued it further.

  • Am i eligible to use LR5 Student and Teacher Edition

    Hi
im from Germany and want to buy LR5.
Just saw the Student and Teacher Edition and before im going to purchase it i just wanted to go safe and ask if im eligible to use it.
Im on a secondary school in year 13, my last one.
Is it enough to send in my last certificate from year 12? its ~7 weeks "old".
Hope someone could answer me. I dont want to buy this version and then notice that i cant use it

Well the certificate should be enough, there im pretty much sure.
Its said here that it is enough
    Studentenrabatt, Schülerrabatt | Adobe
But whats more confusing for me is whats said here
Häufig gestellte Fragen zu Produkten für Bildungseinrichtungen  / Education FAQ  under the point "Ist meine Einrichtung berechtigt" / "Is my institution eligible".
Pucblic secondary schools up to year 12. My certificate is from year 12 but why only up tp year 12? in Germany its common to be 13 years in school when doing your a-levels "Abitur".
Is there any way to contact adobe directly? it leads me every time to the community....

  • Student and Teacher Edition Licensing Questions?

Hello! Are you allowed to use the Student and Teacher Edition of Adobe Flash Professional CS5 for commerical reasons (profit-seeking.) I haven't seen anywhere where it said you couldn't but someone said you weren't allowed to. Also, does "your private computer" mean you can't switch computers? If I were to purchase a new computer would I be unable to transfer to that one?

You can use student and teacher edition for profit it is licensed just the same as commercial. I can't find a link for the student version eula anywhere but I know I've read before from adobe that you can.

No, that just means you can't install it on organization, educational , commercial or government computers. only your personal computer.

  • Are there license limitations on Student and Teacher edition?

I am a student in the UK and have been hoping to purchase Flash CS5.5 Student and teacher edition. However, I have been trying for some time to find out if I would be legally allowed to use the software for commercial use, and have never been able to find a certain answer. I have read through various forums and sites, and most seem to suggest that I can, however I haven't been able to find any information on the official adobe site, even in the Flash Professional license PDF. I'd really appreciate it if someone could give me a certain answer (with source) or point me to where I would definitely be able to get an answer.
    Thanks!
PS. It is worth noting that I am a UK resident, some sites have hinted at the license being different outside of the US, so UK specific information would be ideal.

This link suggests that it is legal to use the Creative Suite 6 Design & Web Premium commercially, which includes Flash:
Can I use my Adobe Student and Teacher Edition software for commercial use?
Yes. You may purchase a Student and Teacher Edition for personal as well as commercial use.

  • How do I update my Creative Cloud Student and Teacher Edition (one-year) now that I am no longer a student? It is about to expire. Thank you.

How do I update my Creative Cloud Student and Teacher Edition (one-year) now that I am no longer a student? It is about to expire and I need to continue working on Photoshop and InDesign, among others. Is there a way for me to update my package, and if not, what should I do to keep my CC running? Thank you.

    Hello jeannelouise,
first I'll use the conditions in German language:
"Frage: Können Schüler/Studierende oder Lehrkräfte die Student and Teacher Editions nach dem Abschluss bzw. nach dem Ausscheiden weiterverwenden?
Antwort: Ja. Jede berechtigte Person kann eine Adobe Student and Teacher Edition weiterverwenden. Die Adobe Creative Cloud kann für die Dauer des Abonnements weiterverwendet werden."
    What means something like:
"Question: Can pupils/students or teachers continue using the Student and Teacher Editions after graduation or after leaving?
Answer: Yes. Any eligible person can use Adobe Student and Teacher Edition. The Adobe Creative Cloud can be used for the duration of the subscription."

  • "Student and Teacher Edition" vs. "Student and Teacher Licensing"?

My university participates in the "Student and Teacher Licensing" program, where the university gets volume discounts on Adobe products and the students are able to pick up software for below the standard "Student and Teacher Edition" prices. The university sells both versions. I was hoping someone could help clarify two things:
    1) Is there any difference, to the end user, between these two versions of the same software? From what I have read on the Adobe website, they should be identical, aside from how the end-user authenticates/activates the software.
    2) My primary concern is whether I can use the "Student and Teacher Licensing" version for commercial use (I don't want to be restricted regarding being able to sell my photos processed in Photoshop). It is stated in the "Student and Teacher Edition" FAQ that you *can* use that version for commercial purposes (FAQ here), however the documentation for the "Licensing" option is not as clear on this issue (PDF here, page 5 for FAQ).
Can anyone clarify for me if there actually is any distinction between these two licensing methods, or if they actually are identical to the end-user aside from activation method and cost?
    Thanks,
    Jim
