Can i use Express stations with Extreme to make a Roaming network?

I have tried, but to no avail.. it seems.
The said airports are all n-capable, and it seemed to me that by setting them up in roaming mode (by ethernet cable through Cisco switch) i would get the best coverage. But it doesnt look like it works.
Is the only way to set them up in Extend mode?
Would be happy for a definitive answer to this 'problem' :-)

Other than assigning a different device name to each AirPort that is connected to the switch, your settings will be identical on each device.
Open AirPort Utility - Click Manual Setup
Click the Wireless tab below each icon. Your settings should look like this:
Wireless Mode = Create a wireless network
Wireless Network Name = Your choice
No check mark needed next to "Allow this network to be extended"
Radio Mode = Your choice or Automatic
Channel = Automatic
Wireless Security = WPA2 Personal recommended
Wireless Password = Your password
Confirm Password
Click the Internet icon
Connect Using = Ethernet
Connection Sharing = Off (Bridge Mode)
Update to save changes
After each AirPort is setup, power down the entire network....every device.....order is not important
Wait a moment, then start the modem first and let it run a few minutes by itself
Start the next device connected to the modem the same way
Work out from there starting each device one a a time about a minute apart until everything is powered back up
Check the network
If you are using a Mac, and want to know which AirPort you are connected to at any given time, post back for tips on that.

I was thinking of updating my iBook to a new one with an Extreme Card. I have the snow Base station that I am currently using with my G3 iBook. I know the G3 iBook with old Airport card would work on the Extreme Base Station but what about the other way around. Can I use the old Airport Card with a new Extreme Base Station? I would hate to have to spend the money on a new base station. I do understand the speed would be slightly slower than if both the base station and the card were extreme. Thanks.

As you state in your first statement, yes a Mac using an original AirPort card can connect to an AirPort Extreme base station (AEBS).
I do understand the speed would be slightly slower than if both the base station and the card were extreme.
Since you will be using an 802.11b card, the speed will be the same 802.11b speed that you are getting now.

Hi All, I have Verizon Fios and the data line runs into my bedroom. I purchased a new Airport Express today to replace the Airport Extreme (from 2006). Can I use the old Airport Extreme as an extender (I'd like to set it up in the basement as I get poor connectivity there). I tried using the Airport Utility - Other WiFi Devices to find the Airport Extreme, but it's not registering. Is what I'm attempting possible? If so, how do I set it up?

If yes, then it is not possible to have the AirPort Extreme wirelessly "extend" the signal from the AirPort Express.
However, the older AirPort Extreme can probably be set up to provide more wireless signal coverage if it will connect back to the LAN <--> port on the AirPort Express using a permanent, wired Ethernet cable connection.
In this case, the setup of the older AirPort Extreme will require that you have an older version of AirPort Utility installed on your computer. If it is a Mac, then the Mac must be running Leopard (10.5.x), Snow Leopard (10.6.x), or a PC with AirPort Utility could be used to set up and configure the older Extreme.
f you have the "square" or "flat" version of the AirPort Extreme, then everything becomes much easier. Post back if you do.

You may be going on a recollection, that I share, that at one time Apple stated this would be possible:

That was a long time ago, it has never been officially implemented, and at present they specifically say it cannot be done.

No, nothing will prevent the computer from going to sleep when you close its display except third-party hacks that are designed to do exactly that. I strongly advise against using any of those, as they may interfere with successful entry into clamshell mode (and they carry other downside risks as well). Just wait until the computer is asleep (with its sleep light pulsing), then press any key on the keyboard. It sounds as though your setup is working as it's designed to do.

My partner has a works iPad, which has her works Apps on (ones that are specifically made by her company and are NOT available in the App store).
What I want to be able to do is to ALSO have my itunes account on there so that I can put all the apps I have purchased previously from my iPhone on it.
This is so I can put on VLC player (thats already in my itunes account) so I can add videos to the iPad.
How do I do this please?
I tried it before by connecting it to my mac, but it wiped everything off the iPad completely and also deleted the data settings for using 3G.
So I want to avoid this happening again the future as it had to be sent back to her head office to be sorted again.
Any advise please?

You can't. The iPad is desgined to be a 'one user' device and only really works with one apple ID at a time.
The only way would be if she, at work and with her work apple id, downloaded your apps (repurchasing them of course).
It's not meant to be a multiple user/multiple ID device.

The best way to get started is to decide if you want to use traditional NI-DAQ or NI-DAQmx. Recently we released NI-DAQ 7.1 which provides NI-DAQmx support for the PXI-6508. In my opinion, NI-DAQmx is more efficient and much easier to use.
To get started with examples, simply launch LabVIEW and go to Help>>Find Examples. Then expand Hardware Input and Output>>DAQmx and select the appropriate digital group for your application. This should help get you started.
