Can I use firefox sync with my htc windows mobile? It is neither a droid phone or an iphone.

I have the htc HD2 mobile and it is a windows system. How do I sync Firefox with it? Is it possible to do this?
Thanks for your help!

We're not currently developing Firefox for Windows Mobile, but there is an old pre-release version that you can try out here: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Mobile/Platforms

  • Can I use Firefox Sync on a public computer, as I did with Xmarks?

I am going to miss Xmarks. How can I use Firefox Sync when I go to an internet cafe?

Sync doesn't allow this because the data is encrypted by the client — in order to provide web access we'd need to be able to read your data (or hand it over to the FBI!) and we don't want to do that.

  • Can you use wifi sync with multiple libraries and multiple devices

    Hi all
Does anyone know if you can use wifi sync with 1 computer, 2 libraries and 2 devices?
I have my wife's iPhone synced to 1 library and mine to another library but on the same computer. Will wifi sync work this way or do you need iTunes to be open to the correct library for it to work? As I know you can't have 2 instances of itunes open on the same computer.
    Anyway thanks for any help

I have been looking more and more into this and it appears no.
You need to have iTunes running on the computer to enable it to wifi sync. You can use 2 devices on 1 library but if you don't have all the right options ticked you will then end up with each others stuff on each others device.
To enable wifi sync you need to have your iDevice connected to the same wifi network as your computer and iTunes open on that computer.
With my library open it detected my wife's phone and started to sync. Hasty push of cancel sync button lol.
There is a guide on here somewhere about multiple devices with 1 library which I can't find at the moment that tells you which options to tick so only your stuff stays on your device the the other half's on their device.
Its basically tick 'sync only ticked songs and videos' under summary of your device
Under apps take tick out of 'automatically sync new apps'
Then under edit->preferences click device and click prevent i's from syncing automatically
I think you should then be able to sync both devices to 1 library with mucking them up too much
Hopefully please correct me if I'm wrong
I have tried not doing the last step and asking it to open itunes automatically when phone is connected but this does not work with wifi sync
Have fun hopefully someone else can give us a better answer

  • Can I use Firefox sync on a pc that is not mine?

can Firefox sync be used on public computers, i.e. university computers that I have a user account available to use?
Or would other people be able to access my bookmarks etc because its a public computer?

What you need to consider is whether if you '''save''' bookmarks on the computer will they be accessible to others. Computers for public use sometmes save files in areas accessible to all users. You probably need to consult your university IT department if you are unsure.
Similar considerations may apply to documents that you may keep on the University computer.

  • Can I use firefox 4 with ca security suite?

I was using firefox 3.6 until yesterday. I then upgraded to firefox 4 and found I lost my CA security suite. Does it work with firefox 4? If not, how do I return to firefox 3.6?

The built-in software update usually doesn't jump to the next higher version number automatically for several months after release, but you can update "manually" from www.mozilla.com
According to the System Requirements page, Firefox 4 works on MacOS X 10.5 and 10.6. http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/4.0/system-requirements/
(As you can see, Mozilla has dropped support for version 10.4 ("Tiger"), but I'm not aware of any problems with 10.5+. Admittedly, as a Windows users, I don't follow the news on that closely.)

  • Is it possible to use Firefox Sync with more than one browser on a single phone?

I have set up a New Sync account. I have logged in with my desktop Firefox (30a2) and with Firefox release on my Android phone. They seem to be syncing with each other. But with Aurora, it says "Could not sign in". I'm fairly sure I have the password right.
How do I work out what's wrong or debug this?

    Yes this should work.
Before new Sync there was a restriction, Release/Beta and Aurora/Nightly were considered one channel each. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=988437 removed this restriction.

  • My phone can't use Firefox Sync anymore, says it's "deprecated."

On my Samsung Galaxy S Blaze running Ice Cream Sandwich, I'm suddenly having trouble with Firefox Sync. It was working fine yesterday, and today, I noticed that an update to Firefox for Android was installed.
So I'm trying to send a tab from my phone straight to my computer, but no dice. I've already checked the "Accounts and sync" portion of my phone's settings. Firefox Sync is listed with the proper email address, and I haven't removed my phone from the list of allowed devices for my account. Oddly, Firefox Sync is shown as being deprecated. My phone literally shows my email address, and under it, "Firefox Sync (deprecated)".
Anybody else having this problem, and is there a fix for it? Any info would be much appreciated.

So, sending a tab '''from''' my phone '''to''' my PC worked yesterday with the standard build, but is now somehow a Nightly-specific feature? Why? It doesn't make any sense.

  • My wife's iPhone can't use wifi sync with my Mac (but mine does)

My iPad and my iPhone both work correctly with wifi sync and my Mac, so I think my network config is ok.
However, when I set up my wife's iPhone the setup looks ok, when it is tethered to my Mac I can press the wifi sync button on the iphone and it will sync, but when I disconnect it, it
    1. dissapears from the device list on the left
    2. cannot find the Mac even when I try and force a sync from the menu
    I have tried:
Enabling and disabling uPnP on my router, assigning a different IP for her phone, etc.
    Rebooting / Re-opening everything
Resetting the network settings on the iPhone
Any real ideas that don't involve "format and reinstall?"

Is your wife's iPhone always connected to your home network when in the house?
    Yes
Also, have you enabled WiFi syncing when the iPhone has been tethered to the Mac and then re-synced (while still tethered) once you enabled the feature.
    Yes
Lastly, are all devices running iOS 5?
    Yes
Agree that it is very wierd.

  • Use Firefox Sync to store bookmarks in the cloud?

Can I setup Firefox Sync even if I only have one device? If so, can I use Firefox Sync to backup my bookmarks to the cloud (instead of using a third-party extension?) I'm guessing that Sync stores bookmarks in the cloud because how else would it be able to merge bookmarks with another device (e.g., a phone)?

Sync does indeed store the data you choose to Sync in the cloud.
Because you need to retain a lengthy unique code in order to recover that data from a different installation of Firefox, many users find it not to be a good method of backup because that Recovery Key was lost in a hard drive crash or reformat. Make sure you store the key in a safe location outside of your computer along with your username and password.
If you end up choosing to use a different cloud backup service such as Crashplan or Carbonite, you can point it to your bookmarkbackups folder so you have a number of files for potential recovery. To get the full path to that hidden folder, the easiest way is to access it from within Firefox.
You can open your current Firefox settings (AKA Firefox profile) folder using
Help > Troubleshooting Information > "Show Folder" button
Double-click bookmarkbackups. You should see numerous files that are date and time coded. You can click after the folder name in the address bar to select and copy the path. (This is based on Windows 7, but I assume Windows 8.1 is similar from the desktop side.)

  • How often syncs Firefox sync with the server were my bookmarks are storaged? Can I turn of the historical sync because one computer is at home and the other is at work. So I use totally different webpages and would like to have the history disabled.

OK, I found the part about history. It is just to unmark that.
But still i wonder how often it sync? Instantly? Or when closing FF?

  • I had saved all my bookmarks using firefox sync. Now i changed the OS and trying to get the bookmarks . how can i do this

i had change my operating system. so the bookmarks which i had in firefox i saved using firefox sync by creaating the account. Now i have changed my operating system but no idea how to get back those bookmarks on the same laptop. cani do that? is there any solution for this

    Add another computer
Do these steps on the computer you are trying to add to Firefox Sync.
At the top of the Firefox window, click the Firefox button and select Set Up Sync. The Firefox Sync Setup window will open.
    Click I Have an Account.
Since you're not near the device with Sync already set up, click the I don't have the device with me link.
Sign in to your Sync account:
    Enter your account email address
    Enter your password
    Enter your Recovery Key
    Then click Next
You will see a Setup Complete screen. Click Finish to complete adding this device to your Sync account.

  • How can I use firefox between windows 7 & windows XP on a network, where we are using Samba server. If a user logs on different workstation(and OS) with same account.

we have a Linux fileserver with Samba share and have several users.
The users tend to be in different locations and need to login at different workstations, sometimes the workstation may be WindowsXP and othertimes it is windows7.
How can we use Firefox & Thunderbird in this situation.
I find that Windows7 uses compressed files to store the location information.
when a user logs on to win7 it creates a new account.

Thanks suntiger1966!!! This work around worked for me as well!!! When I posted this problem on Roboform support, the reply received was not very helpful -

Currently this wont be fixed till the next release. No ETA.''
Now I can keep on using my favorite browser Firefox with Roboform! Thanks once again!!!
