Can I use form 9i to build a website?

Hi, everyone,
I want to build a website based on oracle database. it's about a teaching evaluation system. that mean, teachers and mentors can exchange their idea through this system. I want to know if oracle forms can complete this funcation. if it can build a website? how can it complete the funcation of super link and navigation, etc. or does there some better ideas to build such a website? thank you very much for your great help.
besides, in the form, can I complete video funcation? for example, uploading video from client and playing it on the client? does anyone use Oracle interMedia? it's about managing multimedia content. how can I integrate this funcation in my system?

according to your experience, which one is better for a biginner: Jdeveloper, Portlet or Forms.
just as you said, my application is not a heavy data application. for me, I just want to build it quickly and easily. frankly to say, I think Jdeveloper is too complex. there are so many new technologies to grasp in it. it will be hard to grasp in a short time.
comparing Portlet with Forms, I never use Portlet, so I don't know which one is more easy and quickly to learn. as for the Form, I know there is no reference books about the newest version 9i. so I can only learn forms 6i plus new features in oracle website. another very important thing is if there are many examples and articles about Portlet on internet. so I can follow up and build my own application quickly.
another very important factor is that I want to include video content in my application later. for example, uploading the vedio and playing back at the client side. so which tool is better to develop this application? do you use oracle intermedia before? what's the relationship between intermedia and Portlet and Form?
besides, do you know if Portlet belongs to DS? I mean if I have bought DS, need I buy Portlet?

if you are using application server 10g r2 so the forms and reports runtime version is diffirent from oracle 10g 9.0.4 you should have the same developer suit version at your client pc example if you have oracle as 10g 9.0.4 your developer suite at your pc should be 9.0.4

Can I use a pdf file as a website and can it be protected?

If I create a pdf file (that will eventually end up around 600 A4 pages)
how can I use that file alone as a website, please?
Is it also possible to do a pdf file for my website that does not allow the visitor
to save, print or in any way store a copy of my pdf file, please?
Any help here is appreciated as I know only just a little about pdf files.

The PDF can be linked on a web site, but it is not HTML and will not display as a web site. It would ALWAYS be downloaded and opened in a PDF viewer -- Acrobat, Reader, GView, etc. You can not restrict the saving of the PDF. Once it has been opened on a client machine, it has been saved locally. Thus a user would only have to copy the file from the download location -- though many users do not know how to do this. If you want the PDF to be secure in some sense so that it can not be used if copied and such, then you have to use Digital Rights at a substantial cost (in the $1000s).

How can I use an Express database build with RAA in Express Objects???

Hello, everybody!
I have installed Express Server and Client on my computer. I've build an Express database With Relational Access Manager mapping data from an Oracle database.
Now I want to use this express database in Oracle Express Objects.
I understand that an express database build with understand can be used by defining a connection to Express Server and using the option Relational Access Manager Connection.
But, I didn't understand the settings of this option. I open the settings window and there it is :
- the MASTER DATABASE Box where I have to write the name of the CUBE from the express database build with understand?
- the RDC File Box : what do I have to write here? I've read the HELP but I didn't understood. There is no file with the RDC extension in my computer.

you can extend it, very easly, with an Airport Express.
once you connect the AExpress, on the App Airport Utility, in Wireless tab choose to "Extent a Network", you will be able to select your Network enter your Network Password and it is done

Online e-learning. Can I use just flash to build the architecture?

I have over 100 students and 2000 more potential ones in schools that we give English classes to here in Spain.
I am using only flash to build my games and interactive material. Once you finish one activity I load another movie into _level0 etc...
I generally load movies and not attach.
My question is:
1. Will I have problems if there are 100 kids connected at the same time - or is that just a bandwidth issue with the my ISP? ie: 100 kids playing my 1MB movie is 100mb at the same time.
2. I want to use highscores etc... I will use an sql database to keep hold of the records and fscommand with flash to get the variabes out.
I will use dreamveaver to build the apps and registration of new users etc...
Is this OK on its own. (Somebody mentioned Joomla etc... but I don't need that if I program it in with the system above.

How can I use forms to create a printable document or an html page?

This question may be a little confusing, so below is a link to an example of what I want to create using Dreamweaver.

On this webpage, the user is asked to fill in the forms with their info and when they press "view printable form", a html page using the info that was inputted is created for the user to print and sign.
So, I basically want to create the exact same thing in Dreamweaver - any suggestions? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Versions of Reader prior to 9 can't use forms

Help! My client is mightily mad. They have people using versions 7 and 8 or Reader who can't use the forms I'm creating on ES2. I've enabled reader access and I've saved them as being Adobe Reader 7.0.5 enabled - so what on earth else am I supposed to be doing???

Hi Peta,
I am using LiveCycle Designer ES and experienced same problem. Generally in some forms backward compatibility creates an issue. Some of the functionalities of the form is not literally understood by some old versions. If you see the default compatibility set in LiveCycle Designer ES is 8.1 or later. It might not work in earlier versions. But the most difficult part is to understand which functionalities of the form responsible for this.

FormsCentral is a cloud service and the forms are hosted on our web servers. However, you can embed our forms on your website using the embed code we provide.
Also, FormsCentral is not related to Business Catalyst.

If the form can be run as an URL then you can run it from portal by creating an URL portlet based on this url and you put this portlet on a page.

I'm building a website for a class project and am using text edit with html. I have been successful creating a webpage, but everytime I save and reopen text edit, I am unable to continue working on my original project. Suggestion?

You have force TextEdit to append .html at the end of each new file, cause it insists on using .txt if plain or .rtf if fancy. And as for OPENING preexisting .html files, Safari will try and beat you to it. So you either have to control-click the victim and do an Open with... or drag and drop it onto TextEdit on the dock.
I'd suggest you get a proper HTML editor instead, unless your teacher is a sadist. The Mozilla Project's SeaMonkey browser has a very competent editor to use. And it allows you to upload the results directly without requiring further code.

You'll need to ask the folks at Yahoo but if I had to guess, I would say you cannot. They probably have their own proprietary system to build their websites.
