Can I use G4 400Mhz screen in a G4 500 Mhz Poewrbook?

Hi, I'm a newbie here.
My last airline experience, I made the fatal mistake of putting my much loved 500 Mhz G4 15'' TiBook into checked baggage. It was well padded but I didn't count on our friends at the TSA--
Two days later I turned it on and voila! my screen is cracked. Not a sign of damage to the outside.
I have found a seller with a tired 400 Mhz G4 TiBook, 15", just the horizontal keyboard line on the display, otherwise OK. I'd like to swap that display into mine. Price is right.
So- Can a 400 Mhz Titanium Powerbook display work in a 500 Mhz Titanium Powerbook? I can't find any reason in the generic specs for the 2 that says no. I'm going to get the serial# of the prospective donor and check more specifically.
The apple store help desk says "probably"

Hi, Appleshop. The 400MHz and 500MHz Tibooks use exactly the same display. They are virtually identical machines, except for the processor speed.
In performing the swap, be very careful with the three cables that run from the body of the Powerbook through the hinges and into the display assembly. They are extremely delicate.

I am unaware of any PCs that support connection via Target Display Mode. I have never tried it myself, so I don't know if it would work. All you can do is try provided you have an iMac that supports TDM and the proper cable adaptors.

Thanks for your reply. After reading the article though, I'm still not really sure what the answer is. For example, you mention something that can be done, with some hurdles to go through, for 27" iMacs. Mine is a 21.5" iMac, but seems to have the same port you mentioned in the article. Or maybe it isn't. Anyway, I'm still not sure if it is possible after reading that. Interesting information though.

Unfortnately you cannot. Thunderbolt is an onboard chip that will require an updated Mac Pro. It is not a graphics card upgrade, but a full logicboard upgrade.
Apple has not updated the Mac Pro in 580 days - as of this post. Hopefully one is right around the corner...but I've been hoping for that for over a year.

The RAM is actually 1066 2/3. Some manufacturers round it up to 1067 some round it down to 1066

How can i use an external screen on mountain lion when i'm running on battery power?

Hey all:
I just upgraded from snow leopard to Mountain Lion, and i use external screen, keyboard and mouse all the time....
On Mountain Lion it's perfect when the power adaptor is connected as soon as you close the LID your external screen becomes the primary screeen and it's fully functional desktop (no mirroring or extension screen)
But the problem is when i'm in battery power, in snow leopard i used to close my lid my mac goes to sleep then i wake it up using the mouse and immediately open the LID so it doesn't go to sleep again and now i'm running on battery power with a primary external screen.
Any idea how to use an external screen on mountain lion while i'm on battery power? (i know i can use mirroring but i want just 1 primary screen and the laptop screen would be turned off )

You can't with the lid closed, that's one of the rules for clamshell mode.

I am doing a lot of photo organization and thought it would be easier if I had a touch screen monitor attached to my macbook pro. Has anyone tried this and if so, what brand did you use.

All a touchscreen is going to do is replace your mouse or trackpad, you can't use two hands at once to gain any speed advantage organizing photo's.
Also it would have to be a pretty big touch screen, place your two hands over a 17" screen and most of the screen is blocked.
If you need something like that, talk to Microsoft, they have a "Big @ss table" that does that.

If you work at it you will find hundreds of strikes, compared to Excel. Heck, there are about fifty strikes just compared to the previous version of Numbers. You have to use the app that suits your style, or change your style.

I wanted to now how big of a hard drive can i use in my gigabit ethernet g4 powerpc with a dual 500 processor . at the present time i have one 80 and one 20 gig drive in there now.
So my answer is how big of a drive can i use before i have problems with seting it up. Like i want to use a 500 gig drive in my computer and my old 80 gig too. i want to buy a apple tv and store my dvds on the big 500 hardrive so i have alot of room for the vidio files, for apple t.v . If i can use one as big as one terabite you now the real big one that would be fine. The more room i have the better for me. I will be able to watch the movies i downloaded from the internet and i wont have to burn them at all.
This is of corse if apple tv will handle it.

I have a Thunderbolt iMac 27" with a Thunderbolt Display attached. I would like to use the iMac and Thunderbolt display in Target Display Mode for my new Thunderbolt MacBook Pro. So far, it seems I can only use the iMac screen itself. How do I do this?

When I press the Command + F2, the iMac screen becomes a secondary for the MacBook Pro, and the Thunderbolt Display becomes the primary screen for the iMac. I was hoping that both screens would become secondaries for the MacBook Pro. Does anyone know how I should proceed? I have tried to connect the Thunderbolt display directly to the MacBook Pro, and the iMac to the Thunderbolt Display via the separate Thunderbolt cable, but there was no difference. Yes, eww, the language definitely states two thunderbolt displays, but I can understand the confusion and was siding with how they could make the mistake to think it would work like they want it to. How can I use a halftone screen printing file to simulate the final output?

Just a little history to help with the understanding. I am working with a company that silk screens a pattern onto a solid color board. The patterns are saved as .sct extension but are flattened. I am trying to emulate the screening process by layering the halftone pattern over a solid color but can't seem to make it work. The "white" that was filled in on the pattern is creating the issue. If anyone knows how I can get this layer back to a transparency or any other trick to achieve the results I need, I would appreciate it.

Here you go. You can't really see what happened here but as per your instructions, I selected the "ink" layer and Alt-Clicked the Mask icon. Then I highlighted the actual mask of that layer and pasted the "pattern" that I had previously copied. This pasted the pattern into another layer above the ink layer. Here is a graphic for it.
