Can I use Goal Zero Nomad 7 solar charger to charge I Phone5? When I hooked it up to the Goal Zero charger I got the normal "charging" chirp sound from the phone but when I checked on the charging progress about 30 minutes later the I Phone 5 had a warning message saying "Charging is not supported with this accessory" with a black exclamation mark in a yelllow triangle. Am I doing harm to my IPhone 5 to use the Goal Zero charger? The GZ website makes a big deal of how this charger can charge an IPhone5 and makes not mention of incompatibilty. But the replies on GZ's youtube video include numerous mentions of this problem. GZ responds that the user should contact [email protected] at GZ for help. I wrote that person just now. Let's see what they say.

The iPhone 5 requires 5 volts x 5 watts and 1 amp, the goal zero nomad 7 puts out only 2.5 watts x 5 volts and 0.5 amps.. This is where your problem lies, not enough juice for the iphone.
I would recommend the Suntactics sCharger-5 (the charger I have) which puts out 5 volts x 5 watts and 1 amp, which is exactly the same amount of juice the iphone requires.

Fdisk and format show different cylinders can't use whole disk for solaris?

Format did not show enough cylinders, so we can't use whole raid5 (4x 146GB) volume.
How can we fix it? We need the full raid5 volume for our solaris.

You only have 2 options. Either re-install Solaris, of re-partition the disk.

swap is 3 GB. eg: ( from cylinder 1 to cylinder 400 )
partition 3 is 7 GB ( from cylinder 401 to cylinder 1318 )
( if 7 GB is enough to hold all your / data )
write the disk label out
newfs partition 3
mount / on /a
mount partition 3 on /mnt
Copy everything from /a to /mnt eg:
rsync -vaxH /a /mnt
or
find /a -xdev -print | cpio -pdam /mnt
umount /a and /mnt
re partition the disk so that / takes all the free space.If that were your goal, you wouldn't have to move anything. Just repartition and use 'growfs' on the root filesystem directly (while booted from CD).
eg ( starting at cylinder 1319 to cylinder 17816 )
write disk label out
newfs part 0 for /
mount / on /a and part 3 on /mnt
copy everything back from /mnt to /a
Check /a to make sure everything is there.
umount /a and /mnt
re partition the disk to make /swap 10 GB
( starting at cylinder 1 to cylinder 1318 )
write disk label out.
And that's it.
The disk you are working on is 17816 cylinders in size.
yet down the bottom you say that :
Total disk size is 53502 cylinders
That tells me there are 4 disks in the raid 5 set, and that
you have probably been presented with 3 x 136 GB disks.
That means that you should have 2 x 136 GB disks free.
Use one of these to copy your /root to. and then
re-partition your first disk and copy data back.
Or partition another disk correctly, write a boot block to it
Copy your root data to it, and boot from it.The entire disk is presented to the machine (as seen in the fdisk output), but the Solaris partition is only using the smaller portion of it. You can't create a second Solaris partition and use it at the same time, either. Only one Solaris partition can be used at a time.

Drivers are the "connective tissue" between the Operating System and the hardware. The connections from the drivers to the OS are not compatible between different operating systems, so no, you cannot use Linux drivers in Solaris.
If the OS is similar enough you can sometimes get away with it -- example, using Solaris 9 drivers in Solaris 10. But between completely different OSes? Won't work.

Many of those 'use a battery to charge your cellphone' won't really work on the iPad. They're serving appetizers and the iPad demands a full meal

erjubama10, my wife just recently started complaining about a similar problem with her Unibody Macbook. She states that when she's plugged into the power adapter that the network is extremely slow.

How do can I use Jumpstart to boot Solaris from Slave Drive

I have XP on Master Drive and I used Jumpstart to install Solaris on Slave Drive.
This is the profile:

Now, I specified that the boot_device is c0d1 but after the installation the boot device is c0d0 which is my Master Drive...
...when I use Windows Boot Manager to boot Solaris... it cannot find the boot files on the master drive so it runs the DCA...
... so under the DCA I have to tell Solaris that the boot files are in my Slave Drive then I save it.
...I don't want to make this change everytime
any ideas that would make this install hands free?

You can buy and unlocked phone (http://store.apple.com/us/search?find=iphone+4s+unlocked) and then purchase service from the local country you're visiting and insert their SIM. It would probably be cheaper to purchase a short-term international plan from a local carrier though. Call the major carriers and ask; here's a list:

Can Lightroom use leading zeroes?

My file naming convention is 3-digit with leading zeroes. This allows the files to naturally sort in the correct order. I cannot stand to see a list of files such as: 1, 10, 11, 12, 2, 21, 22, 23, etc.
This is such a simple thing, but I don't seem to be able to get LR to do this for me. Bridge will do it... Hm-m-m-m-m.
Oh. I'm on a Mac G4 Powerbook, CS3 upgrade and LR.

I don't keep the files I export or import them back into LR. I exported from an ordered collection and renamed them so they would "float" in order alphabetically for a slide show.
If you are going to be using LR, won't you want to move your photos from iview? Why don't you post another question about iview. There must be people here who have converted from it. First, try a search of this forum for iview.
I've found that if there is a photo taken within the same second, LR adds something, I think a -1 to the name.
Metadata. There are some things written, even entire books on DAM (Digital Asset Management). I've had some experience cataloging my photos in other products so I kind of knew what I wanted to do in LR. Think through how you will want to view your photos, what you will want to search on, etc.
For example, me. We do a lot of traveling. I want to be able to find all photos from a particular trip. I do folder by trip, so that works so I wanted a program that supported my own folder organization, which LR does. But folders don't identify a photo if it gets out of its folder, so I chose an IPTC tag to use to identify them. I chose Job Identifier after reading about the tags and what they are usually used for.
Non-travel photos are foldered by date, mostly. So to find a picture of a particular flower or a particular person, I will need keywords. I also like the fact that you can order or find things by capture date in LR. That's because we are old and we have lots of photos from long long ago.
I use all of the location fields. "location", city, state, country. I use "location" for let's say Grand Canyon National Park, which isn't in a city. Someone else noted here that they put something like that in city because it isn't in a city and it means you don't have to look two places for the "top layer" of that sequence of country, state, city/location. I think that's a good idea, but I'd already started, so I kept what I was doing.
