Restoring your iPod to factory settings is the best way to try and get it back to working order. You can use the instructions below to restore it:
How to restore iPod
Verify that you have an active Internet connection, because you may need to download new versions of the iTunes and iPod Software.
Download and install the latest version of iTunes if necessary.
Open iTunes. Connect your iPod to your computer using the USB or FireWire cable that came with your iPod.
After a few moments, your iPod will appear in the Source panel in iTunes.
Select your iPod in the Source panel. You will see information about your iPod appear in the Summary tab of the main iTunes window.
Click Restore.
If you are using a Mac, you will be asked to enter an administrator’s name and password.
A progress bar will appear on the computer screen, indicating that stage one of the restore process has begun. When this stage is done, iTunes will present one of two messages with instructions specific to the iPod model you are restoring.
Disconnect iPod and connect it to iPod Power Adapter (typically applies to older iPod models).
Leave iPod connected to computer to complete restore (typically applies newer iPod models).
During stage two of the restore process, the iPod displays an Apple logo as well as a progress bar at the bottom of the display. It is critical that the iPod remain connected to the computer or iPod power adapter during this stage.
Note: The progress bar may be difficult to see, because the backlight on the iPod display may be off.
After stage two of the restore process is complete, the iTunes Setup Assistant window will appear. It will ask you to name your iPod and choose your syncing preferences, as it did when you connected your iPod for the first time.

Did you check the box that says 'Synchronize Apps'? This happened to a friend and after she enabled this synchronization she was able to use her apps as she did before.

I've literally had a 50/50 success rate with drives. But even if you get it to work, all you'll be able to access are photos or videos that follow a very strict naming convention. You cannot access documents or music, and you cannot write anything off the iPad onto a flash drive.
If you want to access photos or videos, you'll get more reliable results with an SD card than fighting with a USB drive.

They have to be either plugged in via headphone jack or the dock port at the bottom. If you can. I've used it on apple tv, but that's it. I don't know if the others work, but I don't see why not. Try plugging in speakers in the headphone jack. You will get an answer :)

Do you mean the "iPhoto for iOS" app?
That is not possible, if you upgraded your iPad to iOS 8. Unfortunately, iPhoto is incompatible with iOS 8. Apple did not release an upgrade for iPhoto. It can only run on the earlier versions, iOS 7 or earlier.
You can use the Photos.app on iOS 8, or install other photo editors. Pixelmator for iOS is quite good on the iPad and has brushed adjustments, and it can access photos on iCloud Drive.

You can only have one app open on-screen at a time, but if the other app is 'recently used' then you should be able to double-click the home button to open the taskbar at the bottom of the screen and you can then tap that other app to switch into it.

They are not hidden via any restrictions that you've set in Settings > General > Restrictions e.g. app age ratings (and you haven't got Installing Apps set 'off' on the samerestrictions screen) ? Do they show as installed in the Purchased tab at the bottom of the App Store app ?
You could try a reset and see if they show after the iPad has restarted : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Most iPhone apps will work ok, but there are some apps which are iPhone-only (e.g. they require full phone capability) which you won't be able to download or sync to an iPad. Otherwise they will work, but apps which are only designed for the smaller iPhone screen will only take up an iPhone-sized portion of the iPad's screen, though you should get a '2x' button on the screen which will effectively double the size of each pixel in both directions (so therefore may appear pixelated).

You need to give some details about what it is you want to do, because ASCII Characters are what are already on the keyboard. It is non-ASCII that you might need to copy/paste.

I think you can be sure that Apple is never going to include a feature in iOS that has you input special characters by typing in numbers like Windows does it. Mac's have always used a different approach.

There are many other keyboard keys that are hidden under the standard virtual keyboard keys. They will vary from keyboard to keyboard based on your language settings but this article will point you in the right direction.

The reason I am entering the same question on both the G5 and the Intel forum is because many of you may have moved from PowerPC to Intel and have had the same question...
Will my PowerPC Apps work in the Intel system?
I've been able to install both my Photoshop CS and Flash 8 on my new Intel Core 2 Duo iMac. They are working ok but when I open "Activity Monitor" and check the memory usage I see most of the processes are showing as Intel but the Photoshop and Flash are showing as PowerPC type.
I also note that 1GB ram is almost taken, even though I only opened the programs, didn't even open a file.
Is it ok to keep running these Apps even though they are PowerPC Apps?
Would they harm the system?
Is there a workaround, a fix from Adobe, or will I have to buy the newest Photoshop and Flash? As Photoshop CS and Flash 8 are perfect for me... no need to buy the newest version regarding functionalities.
