Can i use home sharing when two different apple accounts are on the same computer?

will home sharing work when two iTunes Libraries are on the same computer?

Can you be more clear about what you mean. More detail please.
Is this the solution you are looking for?
Log in to both user accounts and launch iTunes. Turn on Home Sharing from the 'Advanced' menu at the top of the screen.
Leave iTunes running and use Fast User Switching to switch between user accounts. You will notice that each user's library of media is available to the other user and you can copy media from the other user to the current user's account.

    Morning Saintine,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
Home Sharing enables you to stream or transfer music, movies, TV shows, apps, and more among up to five authorized computers in your household. To do so, you will need to Turn on Home Sharing on each computer using the same Apple ID.

  • HT1495 two different apple id's on the same computer

My girlfriend's laptop is about to die.  I am in the process of transfering all of her files over to my computer.  I want to set up my iTunes so that she can plug her iPhone into my computer whenever she needs to...but I want to make sure to keep her informoation seperate from the information for my iPhone and iPod.  What do I need to do to get her iTunes ID set up on my computer and for my content not to mess with her iPhone and vice versa?

The easiest way is to create her own separate Windows user account on the machine, and put her iTunes library there.  You can each then manage your own library, authorize to your own Apple ID, and sync your own device, without any interference from the other.
If you really wanted to run both devices from a single library on a single Windows user account, that is possible too, but is more complicated and more trouble-prone.

  • Can I use home sharing to watch a rented movie on itunes on another computer

can I use home sharing to watch a rented movie on itunes on another computer (I already have home sharing with other computers set up, but I don't see it.)?

Please be aware of the movie rental's time limitation that you have 30 days from the time of rental to watch your movie, and once you start watching it, you have 24 hours to finish watching it. You may watch it as many times as you like during those 24 hours. It may be helpful to make sure the download completes successfully before you begin watching the movie.
Once the download is complete you can watch it without an Internet connection. However, an Internet connection to the iTunes Store is required to authorize playback or activate the 24 hours time-limit of movie rentals. This means, only during the starting of the movie. Once you have started playing the movie rental, internet connection is not required. You can play anywhere without internet connection.
You may need to validate the rental prior to watching so it starts the rental period timer and for that you will need an internet connection. You can probably do that by starting the rented movie while on the Airport Wifi or right before leaving home. You'll have 24 hours to watch the movie after you start it.
For more information on movie rentals, you can visit:
iTunes Store: Movie rental frequently asked questions (FAQ)
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1657
Note: 24 hours time limit is for United States customer only, while 48 hours for other countries.

How can a digital copy be used in a household with multiple apple ids, synced on the same computer?  I want to put a digital copy on my device, and on my wife's device.
    Please help.

    you're welcome.
actually, unless you take an extra step, the first opened swf will close.  if you want the 2nd to close, the initial receiving lc will send a message to sender that causes the sender to close.

  • HT4061 How do I consolidate purchases from two different ids that are on the same bank account, and eliminate the extra id without losing any purchases?

How do I consolidate purchases from two different ids that are on the same bank account, and eliminate the extra id without losing any purchases? I want my music to match on both ipad and computer.

Purchases are forever tied to the AppleID they were bought with. There is currently no way to consolidate AppleIDs. Sorry.

Can you have more than one device with a different Apple ID authourized to the same computer

I think you are using the same Composition Class on both project. On the properties tab, you can change this number (e.g.: EDGE-1637270).

  • Two different Apple ID's in the same house

My wife and I have an iMac, MBP, iPhone, iPad and soon to be another iPhone.
Today I tried to share a song from her iTunes by using Home Sharing.  I do not know what her password was and couldn't get in touch with her at work...so,
I logged hers out and logged in using my Apple ID and it asked if I want to authorize this computer, I selected yes and it said I used up 2 of the 5 authorizations.
Not sure I wanted to do this.  I would like for my wife and I to be able to share info on all 5 of our Apple devices.  I'm concerned I messed this up by doing what I did.
What can I do to get this back or erase the authorization?

The easiest way is to create her own separate Windows user account on the machine, and put her iTunes library there.  You can each then manage your own library, authorize to your own Apple ID, and sync your own device, without any interference from the other.
If you really wanted to run both devices from a single library on a single Windows user account, that is possible too, but is more complicated and more trouble-prone.

No, you can only home share from a computer if the computer is on and iTunes is running on the computer.

  • I want to switch between two iTunes libraries belonging to two different iTunes accounts stored on the same pc but Apple TV only lets you put one account in home sharing. Is there a way round this?

    Help

You can only use one account at a time in iTunes. Indeed if you try switching accounts you may well find you are unable to switch back for 90 days.

  • Is it possible to run two different apple tv units on the same network and play two different movies off of my iTunes library

Is it possible to play two different movies on two seperate apple tv units on two tvs at the same time using the same itunes library

AC is corret you can do that.  It might work a bit better for you if you use a wired connection vs a wireless one for the ATV's.

  • Can I use Migration Assistant to migrate from a hard drive on the same computer?

I have a Mac Pro with spaces for four hard drives.
I currently have only one hard drive, with Mac OS X 10.6 on it.
I am getting a new, second hard drive (a Solid State Drive). I want it to be my primary drive, to install Mac OS X 10.6 on that and use that as the startup disk.
I want to leave my original hard drive in the computer as a secondary drive.
I understand that the Migration Assistant can only import settings from another, separate, Mac? Is that true?
Or is it possible to tell Migration Assistant to get the settings from this older hard drive, even though it is on the very same computer?
Thank you in advance for insights, suggestions, advice and ideas!

MA will transfer your current system preferences to the SSD regardless of where they come from.
BTW, you will need a special mounting sled for the SSD. You should find them at OWC.
