Can I use iMovie '11 instead of the new iMovie '13?

I really don't like the new iMovie program. It took me over a year to get used to iMovie '11 which came with my computer and I would rather just stick with that program and not use the new iMovie '13. Can I do this and if so how?

Yes, you can do this. You should be able to find the iMovie 11 in a folder within your Applications folder. This folder is called iMovie 9.0.9. You should see the icon for iMovie in this folder. Drag it to your Dock, and you can use it like always.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. Yes you can use a paperclip to eject the SIM card, you just simply press in the tiny hole of the SIM card tray.

Can I still create a DVD with the new iMovie?

I currently use iMovie '11 and burn DVDs of the finished blockbusters (I'm not into broadcasting myself across the internet!).
Will I still be able to do this if I upgrade to the latest version of iMovie? I cannot find the answer to this online as everything seems geared up to just plaster the internet with my creations. I have no requirement for this at the moment but am happy to send DVDs to friends, some of whom don't have internet access!!!

iMovie 10 is quite different from iMovie 9 (='11) and there is quite a but of relearning necessary. The underpinnings have been updated greatly (background tasks, 64 bit, use of all CPU cores and GPU etc) but some features of earlier versions have disappeared. For example chapter markers (which you may use in your DVDs are no longer supported and support for some older video codecs has gone.

iChat Is compatible with the Messages App on Mountain Lion and Above.
BUT... Only in the accounts it already has.
That is to say that if you have iChat 5 in Snow Leopard you have the ability to have AIM and Jabber Accounts (which include GoogleTalk and Facebook Chat IDs).
If you have iChat 6 in Lion then you also have the Yahoo option.
All have the LAN based Bonjour account.
If people with Messages are only using the iMessages accounts then iChat cannot join these conversations.
As you mention iPads and other iOS devices I presume you mean this option which will not work for you.

Siri does Not work on the iPad 2. iOS 7 is not even out yet, so we have no way of knowing if you'll be able to upgrade to it.

Right click on the icon and choose "Show Package Contents".
Drill down through the folders to find your original source clips (probably .dv files). Drag them to a new Desktop folder to import them into iMovie.
