Can i use ipad as a mobile access point

I have a ipad 3g model and wondering if i can use is as a mobile access point or is that only possible with an ipad2?

It's not possible on either iPad - currently only the iPhone 4 and 3GS models can be used as mobile hotspots

can I use this as a wireless access point for my network

    umm... use what?
A Time Capsule? Sure. It's just like many other wireless base stations. It can run in either bridge or route mode - in bridge mode it's just like an access point linking the wired and wireless networks together.

  • Can I use this as a network access point?

Very interested in this as a way of playing my iTunes music through my amplifier, but as I also need a wireless access point I'm wondering if this will do both jobs.
I already have a wireless network, but after moving the router no longer have access to it from my Xbox or PC. Does anyone know if I can use the AirPort Express as an access point?
What I want to do is connect the PC and Xbox to an old switch I already have, and connect that switch to the AirPort Express, connecting both devices to my wireless network.

    I am sure.
From KB 108040, AirPort Express: What is client mode?:...In client mode AirPort Express does not offer itself as a wireless access point or use its Ethernet port....
Wireless Distribution System is another way for AirPort Express to join an existing Wi-Fi network. AirPort Express uses its Ethernet port and can offer its wireless access point in WDS mode, but it requires that your other access points be AirPort Extreme and/or AirPort Express...From KB 108038, AirPort Express frequently asked questions (FAQ):
    2. Question: Can AirPort Express act as a bridge?
Answer: AirPort Express can act as a bridge in three different ways:
If you have an existing wired network, it can bridge this network to wireless clients.
If it is set up as a WDS remote or relay station, it can bridge the wireless network to wired clients.
If it is set up as a WDS remote or relay station, it can bridge the wireless network to wireless clients (or "wirelessly extend" the range of the network).

These network ports are used by Apple TV for communications on your network.
TCP port 123 is used to communicate with a network time server.
TCP port 3689 is used to communicate with iTunes while using the iTunes Library Sharing feature.
UDP port 5353 is used by Apple TV for automatically finding computers with iTunes on your network using Bonjour.
TCP port 80 is used for communicating with podcast servers.
TCP port 80 and 443 are used for basic and secure communications with the iTunes Store via the Internet.
TCP port 53 is used for regular DNS.
These are well-known ports used by Apple products, like iTunes. If you can use all the features of iTunes, these ports are likely already open on your firewall or NAT router. Note: These ports may also used by other services such as YouTube and Flickr.

When the Apple TV is paired with a remote, it means only that remote can control it, when it's not paired any remote can control it. You will need a remote for each of your devices.

  • Can i use ipad mini wifi cellular in Bangladesh?

can i use ipad mini wifi + cellular in Bangladesh?

WiFi works wherever you can find a WiFi Access Point/Router and you know the connection passcode, or it is an open wifi.
Cellular will work if you sign up for a local iPad data plan and sim card.

I don't have a wireless/cell phone account. Can I use Ipad with my comcast account? Also, when traveling, would I be able to connect some way as with my laptop at places that offer free wireless connection?

it's for the 3g versions where one access the internet over the cellphone network
those versions are more expensive and support both wifi when aviable and 3g when it's not

How can i use ipad with appletv

Assuming both devices are on the same network and that AirPlay is not turned off on the Apple TV, then simply tap on the screen when you are watching content you wish to stream to your Apple TV, then tap the airplay icon that appears in the control bar, choose the Apple TV from the menu that appears.
When displaying the content you wish to mirror on the iPad 2 (or better), iPad Mini, iPhone 4S (or better), double tap the home button (quickly) and swipe the bottom row of apps to the right to reveal the playback controls, tap the AirPlay icon and select your Apple TV from the list of available devices.

  • Can I use an unlocked T-Mobile IPhone5s purchased from apple online with a Turkish carrier in Turkey?

Can I use an unlocked T-Mobile IPhone5s with a Turkish carrier in Turkey? I purchased it in Apple Store online.
Do I need to make a transaction with or contact T-Mobile when I use it with my new turkish carrier in Turkey?

Hmmm, I just called Apple, and they claim that the phones are proprietary to the carrier, and TMobile phones can only be used on TMobile (even though GSM and unlocked), and they (Apple) cannot say if they could be used on AT&T, and suspect they could not.
I'm not sure I believe them (as it says on the website that the TMobile phones can accept an international SIM when traveling), but don't think I can take the chance.  I wonder if I could get one, try it, and return it if it wouldn't work with AT&T?
It affronts me to spend full price to get a locked phone from AT&T!
    Anybody have any more ideas?
    Thanks!

Can I use iPad (in contract) in other countries while I am travelling with there local SIM?
Or, only WiFi will be available when I travel? Or, nothing will work?

Either will work. 4G only works in Canada and the USofA. In foreigh countries the New iPad will fall back to 3G if you have a local sim and iPad data plan from a local provider.
