Please tell me if I purchase any of the docking stations, docking/alarm clocks, speakers, etc for my new iphone 4s..
if the box says they work, or are compatible with iphone 4 - (not 4s)

the clear answer is that this configuration is not supported. the only supported backup to a NAS is to a Time Capsule. there are hacks to make it works with a NAS like yours but they are just that - hacks. Use them at your own peril.

Can I use my current dock, etc. with my new Nano?

Question, I just received my 4GB Nano, I already own a 10GB 3rd Generation Ipod with a Dock (currently plugged into a belkin firewire card, but also has a USB 2.0 connector) I also have a Apple Ipod travel charger (apple model # A1004)which seems to plug right into the charging/transfer port perfectly. Can I use these accessories with my new Nano? Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to provide.

so your choices are
1) see if you have a firewire to dock connector cable ("Apple iPod Dock Connector to FireWire Cable " $19 from Apple online store). If not, buy one from Apple or third party (Griffin Technology makes these cables, maybe a little less expensive). This will let you charge your nano with your existing firewire wall charger, BUT you won't be able to sync your nano with this cable (no big deal if all you do is use this cable to charge)
2) purchase Apples USB wall charger "iPod USB Power Adapter ", $29. Advantage is you use the cable that came with your nano (less cable clutter).

If you get the 30 pin dock get an Apple genuine adapter the rip-offs often do not work correctly
If you buy a lightning dock a company called Sandberg makes the reverse adapter ,I have one and it works correctly

just bought an ipod touch, 5th generation, with the Lightening connector. Bought an Acoustic solutions docking station with the same small lightening connector but when I dock I can only charge the ipod and not play music through the docking station. Does anyone have same problems playing music with a 5th generation ipod that has the new small lightening connector?...I bumped into someone at Argos who said they are having the same problem not being able to play music from the new iphone 5 that has the lightening connector and even if you use a adaptor to make it 30 pin connector compatable it still doesnt work, any help will be appreciated, thanks

Did you get a charger with the iPad 3?
Could be the charger or cable. Plug the USB cable into your computer. It may say "Not Charging", however, it is charging slowly and will verify that the cable is good.

And just in case you were wondering, installing one purchased copy on all the Macs you own is specifically called out as allowed in the Mac OS X Lion license.
If you do not want to download multiple times, just copy the Applications -> Install Lion app to a safe place BEFORE you do the first install. Then copy that copy to any Mac you own where you want to install Lion.
