Can I use Iphone 4 sim card with Iphone 3g?

Can I use the micro sim card in a Iphone 3g? I have to transfer from my iphone 4 to my iphone 3g. Thanks for any help.

As Deggie says, I have been using a micro sim in my 3GS since the iphone 4 came out last year. I was sent one free from my provider as I had registered an interest in the iphone 4 but decided to see out my 3GS 2 year contract. Got the number swapped over anyway and got a sim convterter for free from the provider.

Not as it is, no. The iPhone 4 takes micro-SIMs. It is apparently possible to cut down a standard SIM, but it would be best to just get a new micro-SIM from your cell carrier.

  • Can I use iPad SIM card on iPhone?

Since I have unlimited data plan on My iPad Is it possible to swipe SIM card from iPad to iPhone so I can have unlimited data on my iPhone?

Don't think so. I didn't think they had unlimited for iPad.
As the OP doesn't mention their location, it's hard to say. I have an unlimited data plan on my iPad through AT&T. I signed up for that plan when it was still available and, as long as I keep paying for it, I can keep it (at least until they change their minds. Again.) It is possible then, that the OP has an unlimited plan.

  • Can I use two SIM cards with one iPhone5s? ie, switch phone numbers and plan, same carrier?

I live where there is no Cell service in remote BC Canada.  Fortunately, we have highspeed Internet!  Thus, I have been using an iPod Touch 4th gen & Skype to make all my calls for a 2 or 3 years.  I travel a couple of times a month into cell coverage.  I plan to use my iPhone 5s on a iPad Data Package when in cell coverage.  I called and asked bell if I could do so if I bought an unlocked iPhone.  I was told yes, but recieving calls would be very expensive.  I have email notification and a phone number where voice mails are emailed to me, so am able to do without recieving calls in most cases.  However, certain situations lead to frustrating telephone tag.
Just today, after receiving my unlocked iPhone 5s I realised that Bell also has a pay as you use plan that is very reasonably priced for cell calls only.  If I was able to switch SIM cards I could get both plans.  Thus if recieving a call or placing one was important I could just switch my SIM card.  Could that be done reasonably and practically?
I would appreciate an answer to this question!
    Scott

Let me see if i got this straight. You have two iDevices. One is an iPad, which uses 3G Data. The other one is an iPhone 5s. You plan on purchasing two plans, One thats has only 3G Data, and the other one that has only phone calls, and messages. The answer to your question is Yes. At least i done that with t-mobile USA. If your iPad is compatible with nano-sim cards, yes you can. If not, you will have to buy an iPad with nano-sim such as the iPad mini 3G. This is totaly possible.

After researching this topic, I found the placing an old SIM card in a new iPad would be impossible. There is no way for consumers to remove the back cover... Without dropping it off a building. My best suggestion: Use the current plan up first. Then buy a new plan.

  • Can you use a sim card with the ipad??

I am planning on buying an ipad, but was wondering if there was a sim card option for it. I will be mostly using it in a country where wifi is very scarce. Any input?
Also, what do they mean by 3G enabled.
Thank you so much for your help!!!

A lot depends on how much you intend to use it when away from home.
Would you be in the vicinity of Wifi hotspots?
The 3G model costs £100 more (an extra 25% of the cheapest model) plus whatever your data plan is.
If you are not regularly in the vicinity of hotspots, and not likely to be a heavy user, the cheaper option is to purchase a Mifi (yes, Mifi) device from a network such as 3. It is the size of a small mobile phone and connects wirelessly to your iPad. The device and a 12gb download over 12 months costs very little more than the extra price for the 3G model. Other plans are also available with the 3 network. Google 3 Mifi.
    Hope this helps.

  • HT201328 My iPhone is from Japan and I want to activate it here in the Philippines because I'm living here. I have lost the original SIM from Softbank and replaced it with a new SIM card from Globe. How can I use the SIM card from Globe?

My iPhone is from Japan and I want to activate it here in the Philippines because I'm living here. I have lost the original SIM from Softbank and replaced it with a new SIM card from Globe. How can I use the SIM card from Globe?

You cannot. The iPhone is locked to Softbank, and only they can unlock it. Problem is that Softbank will NOT unlock the phone, as they do not offer iPhone unlocking.
Buy an iPhone in the Phillipines.
PS Before you go on a rant at Apple, be aware that Apple does NOT unlock phones and they do not set unlocking policies. The carriers (Softbank in this case) set the unlocking policy.

  • I want to upgrade my iPhone 3G to a used iPhone 4, can I use the sim card already in the 4 or must purchase a new sim card?

I want to upgrade my iPhone 3G to a used iPhone 4, can I use the sim card already in the 4 or must purchase a new sim card?

You might want to ask you carrier that question.  I can tell you that when I gave my old iPhone 4 to my wife we were able to get my old sim card that was in the 4 reprogrammed with the wife's phone number.  The AT&T store didn't charge us to do this.

  • Hello i try to use another SIM card with my iphone 4s now it said i need to unlock the phone with my Sim carrier

Hello i try to use another SIM card with my iphone 4s now it said i need to unlock the phone with my Sim carrier ... here is what it says below
The SIM card inserted in this iPhone does not appear to be supported.
The SIM card that you currently have installed in this iPhone is from a carrier that is not supported under the activation policy that is currently assigned by the activation server. This is not a hardware issue with the iPhone. Please insert another SIM card from a supported carrier or request that this iPhone be unlocked by your carrier. Please contact Apple for more information.

So..  You need to contact the carrier for the iPhone's original sim card, and request they unlock it.  The carrier is the only one that can unlock the sim of the iPhone.

  • HT1807 Can I use a sim card from Taiwan when I go there in a month on the new iPhone 5

I am just wondering if I buy the new iPhone 5 on pay as you go. Can I use a sim card from a different country. I am off to Taiwan for 6 months in a month and would like to take the iPhone with me

If your phone is officially unlocked, & either of the three authorized carriers, in Taiwan, have nano sims available, yes. Otherwise you'll have to get International Provisioning activated for your account & use the phone while roaming...very expensive.

  • Can I use a sim card from my galaxy S3 for and iphone

Wanted to know if I purchase an iphone 5 can I use the sim card from my Galaxy S3 Verizon phone.

    hi there,
    unfortunately you cannot.
The iPhone 5 uses a 4th generation SIM card (NanoSIM) while the Samsung Galaxy S3 uses a 3rd generation MicroSIM. You can however use your existing MicroSIM in an iPhone 4 or 4S
    Hope this helps,
    Chris

  • Can I use the SIM card from an Iphone 4s in a new Iphone 5?

Can I use the SIM card from an Iphone 4s in a new Iphone 5?

Yes you can install your current sim into the mini iPad. You have to cut the current sim to the nano sim. There are cutter available on eBay and amazon. You go to your local best-buy. They have it for sale. Just be carefully to align properly or else you will end damaging your current sim. Any little damage to the current sim will render it unusable.

  • How can i use defferent sim card providres on my iphone?

    Hi
How can i use defferent sim card providres on my iphone?

You can only do so if your phone is officially unlocked. If your phone is carrier locked now, you need to contact the carrier your phone is locked to to see if they offer unlocking, and what the cost/procedure is.

Both the iPad Air and iPhone 5C use a nano-SIM. Physically, they will work, but your operator may have some restriction. You should check with them.

    Hi sausage,
Unless you can find out the Apple ID and password of the previous owner, there is nothing you can do to remove the previous user's information. Return it for a refund.

You are correct, I did a little digging as well.
Here is an official Apple document that confirms what Lucas found.  That way you can see the information directly from the source itself.
