Can i use iphone as FaceTime camera for my mac mini

hello all.
I have a Mac Mini and an iPhone.
I love using FaceTime on my iPhone but I would like to use the FaceTime on my mac mini to take advantage of the larger screen. 10 people trying to look at an iPhone screen at the same time isn't easy.
I've been searching the web and app store for a way to use my iPhone 4 camera with the Mac face time.
it seems like such an obvious thing and im surprised it doesnt 'just work'.

You can use a non-Apple drive.

  • Can I use an external hard drive for my ipad mini?

Can I use an external hard drive for my ipad mini?

There are some wireless external hard drives that can be used with the iPad.
The Kingston Wi-Drive, which costs $50 for the 16 Gigabyte, and then $30 more for every 16 gigs more. It works by you turning it on and then accessing the files on it from an app that you download on your iDevice. You can access music, movies, and other stuff. No connections or anything, it works like a WiFi connection, you connect to it from the setting on the iPad under wireless networks.
Then there is the Seagate GoFlex, which some would recommend over the Wi-Drive. But this one costs $199 and had 500 Gigabytes of storage. It works the sameway as the Kingston: no wires, runs over its wireless connection. You can actually fit up to 300 HD movies on it.
    Another option:
Expand your iPad's storage capacity with HyperDrive

  • Can I use a time capsule in place of mac mini?

Can I use a time capsule in place of mac mini as a backup storage?

If you mean as a TM backup target.. that is what the TC is designed for..
If you mean as a media player centre with all your itunes etc.. no it is a failure.. the TC has no media players.. no smarts at all. It is a hard disk in a wireless router.. nothing more.

    12. Can I output via Mini DisplayPort to an RCA or S-Video connection?
No. The Mini DIsplayPort connector allows output to Mini DisplayPort, DisplayPort, VGA, DVI, and HDMI connections when using the proper cables and adapters. However, output to RCA, Component, or S-Video connections is not supported.
    - The current Mini as one HDMI out. The Min somes with a HDMI to DVI adopter. Howver, the HDMI output only outputs digital signal and thus yo will need a converter to convert that digital signal to analogue composite
    - The Min also comes with a Thunderbolt port which accepts the min display connector. However. based on 12 above it does not seem to support composite. The 12 is from

  • Where can I buy a replacement DVD drive for a mac mini A1347

My mac mini is out of warranty and my toddler stuffed several discs into the drive slot.
Whenever it booted, it made a horrible ratcheting clicking noise, but couldn't eject anything.
I disassembled the entire computer, and pulled all 3 discs out with pliers. After reassembling, the computer works fine, but the DVD drive won't "catch" a disc and pull it in. I'm pretty sure some gear or something has been irreparably damaged, or that I bent it as I was pulling the disc out.
I've been having a difficult time trying to find a replacement drive to order anywhere.
Besides going with an external USB drive, does anyone know of the cheapest option for a replacement slot drive for the mac mini A1347. (AKA "mid 2010", AKA Core 2 Duo DDR3).
I don't want to haul it down to an Apple Store and pay a huge premium to have them diagnose and replace a part that I'm very capable of doing myself.

If your in the US then the ifixit link is a good option, in the UK the following is an option

However when I had to replace a drive in a Mac mini, I bought a bare drive off eBay.

  • Can I use my iPhone as a web cam for my mac mini?

Just purchased my mac mini and I need a good web cam. Seems I should be able to use my iphone

There is an app (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/iwebcamera/id369617568?mt=8) that can do what you want. But, unfortunately only suports OSX Lion, Snow Leopard and Leopard (suport info).
This other app (https://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/webcamera/id348150234?mt=8) didn't say the exact OS X compatibility...

  • Can I use I Pad 3g 64 gb in Mac mini as screen?

    I have I Pad 64 GB 3 G . Can I use as Screen in Macmini ?

Yes and no, there are apps that let you use the iPad as a secondary wifi display, but the iPad tends to be laggy, and you need a screen to set up the apps that do such a thing.

  • Can I buy a television 32 inch for a mac mini and have a good image quality?

Hello I want to buy a tv 32 inch for work with videos, the image on tv will be good ?

Depends what you mean by good. The 32 inch screen typicaly has 1920x1080 pixels so it look poor when close up.  Also, some TVs do not look that sharp too.

  • Possible to use iMac 27" as monitor for PPC Mac Mini (DVI)?

This question appeared on the support community, about 4 years ago, but the adapter mentioned as a solution is now discontinued.

I have an old PPC-based Mac Mini that I would like to connect to my new iMac 27", but my Mac Mini has DVI output and the iMac 27" has Mini DisplayPort input. Is this the only way to connect a PPC Mac Mini (or any DVI device) to the iMac 27"?
