I have an imac at home and may be getting a macbook for work. Can i use my mobile me account to chat between the two macs or would i need a mobile me account per mac??

    Hi,
    No.
You need two names that can login into AIM.
In iChat you can use the Get an iChat Account which shows after you use the Plus Button in Accounts.
This will give you a free @mac.com Name
    AIM Names are also free.

Can I use ipod touch 5th to mirror my screen on Apple TV via Airplay with out wifi connection?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    Peer-to-peer AirPlay
With peer-to-peer AirPlay, your iOS device and Apple TV don't need to be on the same Wi-Fi network. If you have one of these products, you can use peer-to-peer AirPlay:
    * iPhone 5 or later, iPad (3rd generation or later), iPad mini, or iPod touch (5th generation) using iOS 8 or later.
    * Apple TV (3rd generation rev A, model A1469 or later) with Apple TV software 7.0 or later. Find out which Apple TV model you have.
To use peer-to-peer AirPlay, your iOS device needs to have both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth turned on.

how can I use music from two different iTunes accounts?

If you mean iTunes Store accounts, there's really nothing for you to do. Just add the tracks to the iTunes library and play them. Music purchased prior to late-2009 will been to be authorized, though. Pull down Store > Authorize... and type the credentials of the Apple ID used to buy the tracks.
If you mean something else, please describe in more detail.

  • Can I use iPod on both Mac & PC?

Can I use iPod on both Mac & PC?

If your iPod is formatted for Mac it won't run natively on a PC because the Windows OS does not support the HFS Plus file system and therefore will not see the drive. Macs can read Windows drives so you could restore and format the iPod on a PC, this would also mean any future software updates would have to be done on Windows. Strictly speaking using a Windows formatted iPod on a Mac isn't supported however many people use one without any issue. iTunes will allow you to use an iPod formatted for Windows on a Mac; however Apple currently only supports using the iPod shuffle in FAT32 format on Mac. Alternatively there are third party programs that will allow you to use a Mac formatted iPod on Windows, this is one for instance gets good reviews: XPlay 2
You can read another user's experience of using XPlay at this link: iPod on Mac and Windows

I downloaded throught Adobe the Elements 13 two be utilized in two computers, one PC at home and one Mac Laptop, as I did always in the old versios. Someone knows if I buy the CD can be used in the two computeres?

The serial number for the version purchased on cd can be used for two installations: Mac and PC or Mac and Mac or PC and PC.
The serial number for the downloaded version can be used only on two PCs or 2 Macs (generally), depending upon the version purchased.

  • My iPod said "Can not use iPod until cools down". I let it sit over night and now it wont charge.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
However, I suspect a hardware problem and the Apple store will likely be necessary.

  • Can I use iCloud on two Windows 7 PC's? (same apple ID)

    Hi!
I am a new user of Apple products and would like to use iCloud on two Windows PC's to upload Pictures and be able to see them on iPad. I manage to setup one computer and upload a few pictures for test and it worked, however when I setup computer number 2, nothing happens after I put the pictures on the required location to upload.
Please let me know if this is feasible and if is not, what do I need to do to enable computer number 2 as the one to use and disable using computer 1 (the one working so far)
    Regards

You can only create iCloud account on an iOS device (iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch) running iOS 5 or higher, or on a Mac running OS X Lion (10.7.5) or higher.  After creating your account on one of these devices you will then be able to sign into the account using your iCloud ID on your PC.

And use the new address to call that device.
    What new address?
Perhaps you mean the OP needs to add a new email address for his AppleID and use that email address.
    Yes. That's what I meant.
Change the "You can de Reached by Facetime At" for one of them under Settings->Facetime->You can be Reached by Facetimer At.
I probably should have specified "Change the "You can de Reached by Facetime At"(email address) ...
NOW TO CORRECT:  Even though I said you could, you can't.
I tried this out just now and you can't facetime a device using the same Apple ID.
So yes, you infact need another Apple ID for this. Not just another email address.
My Bad. sorry.  I don't deserve the 10 points.

  • Can I use iPod for time machine back up?

I have several iPods that I don't use, and would like to use them as time machine back up drives, for multiple computers.
They are 30gb iPod videos. I am aware they aren't as reliable as an actual external hard drive and that this much read/write can cause the iPod to burn out, but for these purposes I don't care.
I have 300 computers that I want to restore to one master, as they are all used for the same purpose, but currently they all have OS 10.5.x of varying versions. I currently use a time machine backup on an external hard drive to restore the systems, but I have 15 iPod videos, and I would like to use 2-3 of them, to speed the process up.
I use carbon copy cloner once I get a system restored, to restore the stations around it, but time machine is about 15% faster than using CCC, so I would like to use these iPods to increase my ability to restore these systems on a regular basis without having to buy external hard drives or enclosures to make external HDs.
    I have tried:
Erasing the iPod in disk utility.
-It will erase the volume as HFS+ (extended journaled) but it won't erase the main device as it shows in Disk utility, it consistently stays as Fat32.
--Same idea if I recreate the partition. I tried GUID partition scheme, Apple Partition Map and Master boot record, but all produce the same result.
I also selected the iPod and attempted a zero-out of the whole iPod using the security options in disk utility. The system still will not let me use it for time machine.
Has anyone been able to use an iPod for backup? Are there any other techniques anyone can suggest to get this iPod to work?
    Thanks for your help.

And to clarify, originally I made sure disk usage was enabled on the iPod.
I have also tried dragging and dropping the contents of a time machine backup to the iPod, but it's still not seen as a backup volume. I suspect there are some hidden files that enable a volume as time machine capable. Any ideas on how to maybe copy the hidden files or any other methods that might work?

  • If i purchase the $29.99 upgrade, can I use it on two of my macs? l

Hi all, I have two macs in my household, one for my myself and one for my husband, they're attached to separate payment accounts/email accounts/mac logins. If I upgrade my macbook pro with the app store update, can I use the same single update for my other mac?
Or is it a single install?
Please let me know. Eager to upgrade!!

I hate the fact that you can't cut and paste stuff from the app store....
Go to the Lion article ... on the right hand side is an entry "App License Agreement."
Scroll down to the "OSX Lion 10.7 License agreement.... scroll down... to section 2 - permitted License Uses and Restrictions... article B...
"if you obtained license from Mac App Store...
subsection i ... "to downloand, install and use... on each ... that you own or control."

  • Can I use Lightroom on two computers?

Can I use the same Lightroom software on both of my computers?

The license stipulates that you can install Lightroom on two computers under the condition that only one installation is being used at any given time. Lightroom does not have an activation feature, so there is no way to police your activity. The serial number is also cross-platform, meaning that you can install it on a Windows machine and a Mac.

  • Can't use iPod-Windows 2000

Got an eagerly awaited iPod as a gift and can't use because my OS is Windows 2000. Anyone have a good workaround? Thanks

Thanks for the advice-I just think it's crazy how some people will tell you you have to buy another product to make your first purchase work. At my restaurant, we certainly don't make someone buy a drink to be able to eat a meal with us (although we do attempt to sell a drink!

  • Using iPod on Two Windows Based Computers?

I use one Windows XP OS computer at home and another on-the-road. I have iTunes running on the home computer. I want to run iTunes on the other notebook computer so I can sync and put new "files" on my iPod (30Gb Video) when I'm on-the-road.
How can I do this so as not to lose any files on the iPod when changing computers?

If you want to connect and use an iPod on more than one computer you need to change the update preference in the iPod Summary tab to "Manually manage music and videos" and click Apply.
