Do you have PowerPoint? It's part of Microsoft Office 2011. You don't need anything to receive a PPT file via email, just to view it. Keynote can open PPT files. You can also use the freeware Libre Office to open PPT files.

The NVIDIA GeForce4 MX has a stated max 64mb of memory, but I could not see whether that meant it actually had that quantity. I would assume though that it had a minimum of 32mb.
Have you checked in *About This Mac* what the actual memory is?
Maybe Apple was optimistic in its minimum requirements.

Unfortunately, this is not true either. For some reason, when you export to PDF, and open the PDF on a PC, it often says it cannot read the font and you get a PDF that looks like it's very sick.
I'm not sure exactly how PDF works, but I don't know why it needs to be able to read a font correctly? I thought PDFs were readable on anything because it basically printed the document on a page, which is why you cannot edit it.

All iWork apps allow you to save your documents on your computer. You will be able to choose the destination when you want to save a document.
You can also disable iCloud for some apps. To do that, go to System Preferences -> iCloud, press "Options" next to "iCloud Drive" and disable the apps you want to.
If you have lost your old documents, you should have a backup that you made before upgrading to OS X Yosemite, so you only have to restore it.

You can lead a horse to water, but you cannot make it drink. This person receiving my email, while on a Mac with Safari is reading their mail through Safari using Horde--our recent discovery. Why they chose to do that in unclear. The last email we sent, however, was miraculously read and received and the attachment was viewed with no problem after we told them our mail was coming from a Mac thriugh Apple Mail. It seems that telling them that our emails were coming from a Mac and using Apple Mail was enough to make them think that perhaps THEY were doing something not quite right. Thank you both, Level 7 and Level 5.

Using iPad2, when receive photo in e-mail it now displays OLD photo that had been received and saved instead. Why and how to rectify?

This problem only applies when attempting to receive photos that were sent in special format from iPhoto. No problem receiving photos sent as attachment to normal e-mail.

Can't use Keynote Remote Because of iPhone 5's Bluetooth

I use Keynote Remote with my iPhone 5 to MacBook Air. WiFi works well but Bluetooth doesn't work at all. How to solve this problem.

When a Wi-Fi connection is unavailable you can use Keynote Remote with Bluetooth to control your Keynote slideshow from one iOS device to another (iPad, iPhone, iPod touch). However, slides may take longer to appear on Keynote Remote when connected via Bluetooth. You cannot use Keynote Remote via Bluetooth with a Mac. The following steps use Keynote Remote on an iPhone to control a Keynote presentation on an iPad via Bluetooth.
iPhone: Go to Settings > General > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth ON.
iPad: Go to Settings > General > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth ON.
iPad: Open a Keynote presentation.

I had this problem. Performance of Keynote 5.1 under Lion was unacceptable; it freezed for several seconds with spinning beachball every time I made a change to a slide. There are many blog discussions about the problem, which might be related to Lion's implementation of autosave/Versions. I used the solution described in this discussion (page 22) for downgrading Keynote from version 5.1 to version 5.05 (which doesn't support the Lion Versions implementation):

This completely restored normal responsiveness to Keynote. Note that you need your original iWork '09 install DVD, and the script recommended to remove iWork takes several minutes to run. You also need to be careful not to let Software Update reinstall the 5.1 update.
It seems clear that Apple needs to release an update to Keynote to address this problem, hopefully soon.

How can I use iCloud to receive emails from my GMail account and when I reply, the reply email shows the email in which it was sent to, not the @iCloud address?

I have my GMail account forwarding my emails to my @iCloud.com account which I like, but when I reply, it shows my address as @iCloud.com instead of the email address that was originally addressed to. Anyway to have iCloud reply to emails using the email address in the original email?

You can't use iCloud's outgoing server to send with anything other than the iCloud address as the 'From' address. On your Mac you can set Mail to use the GMail outgoing server with your iCloud account (but then you can just access your GMail there anyway, so there's little point). On the iCloud website you can't do this; there is no way of using your Gmail address.

2 MACs - Can I use .mac to sync POP emails from MAIL when traveling

I use Yahoo Business (POP) email with the MAC MAIL software. I use a PowerBook G4 at home and just got a new iBook G4 for travel. I want to set up the travel computer and MAIL to receive and send mail while on the road. 2 Questions:
1) In a perfect world: I want to sync the emails (both sent and received) I worked with on the road with my home computer so I don't have to re-do the work I just did on the road. Can I use .mac to sync my mailbox folders before downloading the messages at home or will this corrupt the library file and make me rebuild my folders every time? I know I can set up the MAIL account to leave the received message on the server for my home computer to download, but this causes a lot more work!
2) If (1) is not possible, how can I capture the files I sent on the road to my home computer SENT folder? I save all sent messages at home.

Via the .Mac website, you can have .Mac check the POP account's incoming mail server to download received messages from the POP account to your .Mac account's Inbox mailbox.
In the interim, send a change of email address to all contacts providing your .Mac email address and start sending messages with your .Mac account.
When creating a .Mac account in Mail - Drafts, Sent, Trash and Junk messages are stored on the server by default along with received messages. If you want to keep all these mailboxes/messages synchronized with Mail on both Macs, make sure these settings for the account are the same with Mail on both Macs.

if your test data base file is TestDB.mdb you need to give the absolute path of the file to get access to JDBC adapter set so you can replace the file path with the corresponding path on your test system .
Please place the data base file in a directory where the XI system has share access.

CAN program using Channel API receives only 0

Hello everyone,
I'm get in stuck. I'm currently programming CAN interface for a transmission using PXI, Channel API and a .dbc file.
CAN configuration based on .dbc file is downloaded to PXI by MAX.
The problem is that it receives 0 for all the values by Channel API based program (Attached file), though it seems receiving meaningful data when I check raw data by Frame API based program.
Baudrate, CAN port, and .dbc file are correct.

What I am expecting is that the sample rate is being set to high. When using the multiple channel - single sample instance of the CAN read vi, it will return a single sample for every period. The number of samples to read input is actually ignored and it will return a single sample for every channel specified. Therefore, if no data has been received within the sample period specified with the sample rate, it will return the default value as specified in the database file.
Due to the high sample rate, it might be that data is being received, but aren't visible on screen since they are quickly being overwritten by new (default) data. I suggest trying to use the Multiple Channels - Multiple Samples instance of the CAN Read vi to see if you receive values in this case. Or you could try lowering the sample speed (note that sample rate is not the same as CAN baud rate).
Also, make sure you are properly reading the data already in MAX's test panel as this would indicate if the database file is loaded properly.

Can I use Keynote from a PC?

I am running Keynote '09 on my MacBook, and I have made a huge, 100+ slide project for a huge presentation. However, my office only operates on Windows XP and I created the slideshow at home.
Is there a way to initiate screen sharing between a PC running WIN XP and my MacBook running OSX 10.5.8 so I can indirectly run the keynote and still be able to connect to the projector? If so, is there any software I would have to download on either computer, and would there be a price?
This is something I need to have solved by 11/10/09.
Any solutions?

Is there some reason you can't connect your MacBook to the projector? There are adapters that would allow you to connect the Mini Display port to VGA or DVI.
If you need to connect between your computer and a Windows system using screen sharing, you can use TightVNC on the Windows computer to connect. You'll need to know the IP address of the MacBook, which isn't that hard to find. This is also easiest if you are both on the same network, and not going across the internet through a router. There's a rather extensive article about the many ways to connect with Screen Sharing:

Directly launching the Screen Sharing client is the easiest way to make a connection on a local network without much setup.
