I understand that debit cards are no longer accepted.
But Maestro have a credit card and that would probably be accepted. Go to App store > Store > Sign in > Go to Edit payment details ... and that will show you what credit cards are accepted in your country. Always assuming you already have an account, you could then edit your payment details to meet a change of card.

I believe apple no longer accepts debit cards in some countries. Try a credit card instead. Go to settings/iTunes and App Store tap on the ID then then tap on view apple ID and log in then tap on account info and have a look at the billing options available to you

I think it has to do with the way that you order thru ATT. When you order, they put a hold on your account for the purchase amount. In 3-5 days( for PNC) when PNC doesn't see the purchase go thru, they release the funds. ATT will take the money when your phone ships. If you go to the Apple store, they don't take a deposit. They put your name on the priority list and you only give your card when you pick your phone up.

If not then are iTunes gift cards available in your country so that you can use them as your payment method - they are not available in all countries and they are country-specific, they can only be redeemed and used in their country of issue.

But there is no way that my card is invalid because i just got it last week. Looking at your stated article on 01/04/2014 in the additional information near the bottom it says explictely that you cannot use a itunes gift card to purchase. Then it says you can use store credit. How elese would you get store credit other than a itunes gift card? Maybe there is a quasi answer. Yes you can use existing store credit before you sign up for account, but not actually during the checkout. At times thru the year apple will rune utunes $25-$50 gift cards on sale for 20% off. Usually when a new iPhone comes out. I just bought a $50 gift card for $40. Xmas I guess. So I guess until someone trys this for services like plus iCloud Storage OR iTunes match we just don't know until someone post. For people looking for a defintive answer today- itunes gift cards are only good for purchases of Apps, Movies, Music. No hardware like iphones, cables, adapters, etc.

You can try contacting the iTunes Store and asking if there is any way to use your card, but they probably will tell you that it's not possible.

Using a debit card in any online service where it stores your card is a bad idea in any case since if someone gains access to your account in the service, they can quickly drain your bank account. Credit cards limit your liability, as do prepaid iTunes cards.
