Can I use More than one Apple ID on an iMac?

I have aniMac with 2 users and I would like each to have a seperate Apple ID to use with iCloud, iTunes etc.  So far I have not been able to do this.  Any thoughts?

There is something wrong with that account. You might try resetting permissions on that account.
Boot into Recovery HD by holding down cmd-R on restart.
When it boots, select Terminal from the Utilities menu.
Type resetpassword (don't worry, you won't be changing the password)
Select the Hard disk (Macintosh HD if you haven't changed it).
Select the account with the problem.
At the bottom of the window, click the button to reset home folder permissions and ACLs.
Restart, then give it a try again.

Yes, but you have to logout of one, and login to the other.
If it is an iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch and you buy apps on different accounts, when it comes time to update an app, you have to specify the password for the account used to acquirer the app. You change an iOS account via Settings -> Store -> Apple ID (tap on it), and start by logging out and then you can enter the other Id
So it is possible, but it can also be a pain.

Yes just sign in where you signed in for the first account, you can only use one at once and you'll need to switch in the same place you signed in.

  • Can I use more than one Apple ID on one device

I have seen some answers to this type of question before but not that since the ios 6 so will ask again. My household shares an Apple ID and it has worked great as we have added devices and purchased apps.  My problem now is this, we have hit a point where I have work things on my iPad and iPhone that I really don't need to be shared with the whole family but it isn't a major deal or security risk. I don't want to give up the advantages of having the household ID.  Is there an easy way to have another ID on my iPad and switch between them without having major complications?  I am for the most part a techie so not afraid of these kind of things but I can't afford to lose everything right now and take the time to set it all back up so getting advice here.  Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

You can use more than one apple id, but keep in mind that when apps need updating that you'll will need to sign in with correct credentials to update them.
Share an apple id for the itunes and app stores, but keep your own for icloud, facetime and messages.

  • Can I use more than one Apple ID for an Apple TV?

I wanted to use more than one Apple ID account on my Apple TV, is that possible?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can only use one ID for purchasing from the Apple TV, but you can stream content from multiple libraries even though they have different ID's

  • HT5622 Can you use more than one apple ID on the same computer? I can't sign in and out and sync my iPod because my library isn't on there.

My sister has an iTunes account on our main computer, and I have one on our laptop.  I want to be able to sync my iPod with the main computer, but I can't because my library is on the laptop.  Is there any way to sync my iPod with my library on the computer?

    Yes

However you can only sync all media from one iTunes library/computer. However, one can sync music and videos with different computers/libraries if you have iTunes setup to manually sync. See that method included here:

  • Can you use more than one apple id on apple tv?

My apple id is the one that is being used for our apple tv. My boyfriend would like to play his itunes library through the device as well. Is this possible?

You can connect to any iTunes library on the same network.
just make sure that your boyfriend uses your ID to set up homesharing on his computer.

  • Can I use more than one Apple ID on my iPad with the new is system? Ios 8?

I Thought I read some where that I can use multiple Apple ID on the same device with the new OS coming out this fall?  I'm wondering if this is possible or not. I have an iPad mini and it's under my Apple ID but I would like to be able to use both mine and my husbands.

    Maybe.

  • Can I use more than one iTunes account with my apple TV?

Can I use more than one iTunes account with my apple TV?

That depends what you mean. If you mean can you purchase from more than one iTunes account on the Apple TV, then the answer is no. If you mean can you stream from more than one iTunes library, which use different accounts, then the answer is yes, so long as they both use the same ID and password for homesharing.

  • Can I use more than one iTunes account on my apple TV

We just purchased our AppleTV and my wife wanted to use her Mac and her iTunes account to listen to music when I am at work. I setup the AppleTV using my iTunes account. Can I use more than one iTunes account on my apple TV?

You can have both libraries available to the Apple TV at the same time. As I say the key is understanding your iTunes account ID and your homesharing ID are different things (although there is nothing stopping you using one of your iTunes account ID's as the homesharing ID - I do that)
You need to make sure that the ID and password you use on both libraries and the Apple TV are all the same.
Also, no need to apologise, the wrong thing to do is not ask and suffer in silence.

  • How can I put more than one Apple ID on one device to receive iMessages?

I have a personal iPhone and work iPad.  I'd like to receive iMessages from my work Apple ID on my personal iPhone.  Since upgrading to iOS 7, I haven't been able to do so.  Is there a fix for this?

Although you can use more than one Apple ID on the device at a time, only one at a time can be used for EACH FEATURE like iTunes, Facetime and iMessages,

Can you have more than one apple id on a computer. We are going away and want to facetime from our macpro to the mac computer at home but both are registered under the same apple ID. What should we do ?

I will share with you what I have done to manage this with my family.  While the solution isn't without flawes, it seems to do the trick.  First, you need to have one person who is managing the synching of everyone's devices.  In my family, I have three iphones, about to be four, and five ipads.  We all synch to the same apple ID to allow one another to take seemless advantage of our Itunes, which is on our Imac.  To synch individual music or video interests, we simply select which playlists we want and manually synch that way.  A couple of us use imatch and the cloud to make the entire library accessable as well.  With respect to the imessage, mail, contacts, etc. we each have a gmail account for our individual emails, contacts etc.  So for instance, my forth grade daughter has a gmail account that we choose to synch her contacts, calendar, etc to and then that is also the account where she receives her imessages from on her ipad and itouch. My son, who has an iphone and ipad, does the same thing, but under settings, he goes to imessage and checks his phone number and his email as his preferred way to receive imessages and texts.  My wife and I do the same thing.  To avoid having everyone see one anothers contracts etc, we only synch contacts from our individual email accounts.  Here is the downfall to this:  When you update your phone or add a new device, apple always wants to reset everyone's facetime and imessage settings and then low and behold we are all receiving imessages from one another's friends etc.  To work around this, I simply take each of their devices and go to their imessage settings and only check the email and phone numbers relative to their devices.  I dont' know is this is the best solution, but it seems to work for us.

  • Can you have more than one apple id under the same account

can you have more than one apple id under the same account

Stop using the same Apple ID for iMessage on these devices.  Go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive (Receive At in iOS 5), tap the ID shown, sign out, then sign back in using a unique ID for each device.  (Or, just sign out and stop using your Apple ID for iMessage.)

    Create a concatenated disk set
Increase storage space with a concatenated RAID set (also called “Just a Bunch of Disks” or JBOD). If you need one large disk, but you have only several smaller disks, you can create a concatenated disk set to use several small disks as one large disk.
Open Disk Utility, in the Utilities folder in Launchpad.
Select one of the disks that you want in the set, and then click RAID.
Click Add (+), and type a name for the RAID set.
Choose a format from the Format pop-up menu. Usually you’ll choose the Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format.
Choose Concatenated Disk Set from the RAID Type pop-up menu.
Drag the disks you want to add to the set to the list on the right.
    Click Create.
    Exerpt from:
Disk Utility 12.x: Create a RAID set - Apple - Support
Note that the biggest CON to concatenated RAID configurations is vulnerability to volume failure. If either disk fails, the whole volume fails. If you choose this option, I would highly recommend backing up your music to a cloud service. There are very cheap per GB/storage, and some of the most reputable actually offer unlimited storage:
