Sim free is not enough, you can use different sim if it's unlock.

  • Can I use a virgin micro SIM card with an iPhone 4?

Can I use a virgin micro SIM card with an iPhone 4?

Everything depends on whether the iphone is unlocked or not and whether it's an ATT or Verison version.  Follow the links in the right panel, under "More Like This".
It would help if you indicate which country you're in.

  • CAN I USE MY REGULAR O2 SIM CARD IN A IPHONE?

If I buy a new iPhone in an Apple Store for instance, can I use my regular O2 sim card or do I need to get a new one?
    Thanks

The iPhone must be activated with O2. The SIM card used is "married" to the iPhone's IMEI number, so if the iPhone ships in the UK with a new SIM card pre-installed, there isn't any benefit to using your existing SIM card for the activation process unless your SIM card stores contact info which the iPhone can import. The iPhone can import contact info from the SIM card regardless if the SIM card is used for the activation process.

  • HT2309 so can i use my nokia optus sim card in an iphone and have all the same options (plans, features etc...)?

I want to buy an iphone but use the optus sim im currently using in my nokia phone, is that possible? and can i swap sims over all the time if the iphones unlocked?

Is your optus SIM a full size one or a microSIM? If the latter you will have to cut it to make it fit in the iPhone. It would be easier just to get a new one from Optus.

  • Can I use the same GSM sim card from my 4s with the iphone 5?

I'm from the Bahamas and I wanted to know if I can still use my same GSM sim card in the new iphone 5, do the iphone 5 GSM sim cards have to get cut smaller like they did with the iphone 4s sim cards???

If there is no other option, you can cut the old SIM and rub it down to make it thinner, but be prepared for it not to work and the SIM ruined..

  • Is iPhone 3GS SIM card activation mandatory?

    I have several scenarios.
First: If I'm currently an iPhone 1st Generation user, can I use the old SIM card to use iPhone 3GS?
Second: If I'm currently an iPhone 3G user, can I use the old SIM card to use the iPhone 3GS?
Third: If I'm using the iPhone 3GS SIM card, can I use it on other phones to make calls and go online? For example iPhone 3G, iPhone 1st Generation, or any AT&T branded phones, and finally unlocked phones?
    Thanks in advance!

As long as your existing SIM is a 3G(network) SIM as the SIM cards were in the U.K, you can insert your current SIM into your 3G S, connect to iTunes, iPhone will display a message "iPhone is activated", follow the registration process through iTunes (if you wish to) then choose to set up as a new iPhone or a backup.
Let iTunes do its thing and you have a fully working iPhone 3G S.
That's what I did with my original iPhone to iPhone 3G and having bought an unsubsidized 3G S from O2 I'm still using my original SIM. It's running perfectly. MMS works, Find my iPhone works, it's fantastic. Love the rotating maps :o) roll on TomTom release!
iPhone is available in many countries, so I don't know if all carriers' SIM cards are the same as the SIM cards provided by the U.K carrier (O2).
    Hope this helps

  • How can I use Vibo 3G(Taiwan) SIM card to enable new Ipad internet tethering?

How can I use Vibo 3G(Taiwan) SIM card to enable new Ipad internet tethering?

What is the reason for Apple to skip this function? In fact, I feel pretty uncomfortable with this decision, it hinders me from using the iPad in a useful way. What is the reason to allow tethering on an iPhone and not on an iPad?
We are all just your fellow users. No one here is going to be able to answer those questions for you. Bottom line is, for whatever reaons, you cannot use your iPad as a mobile hotspot. If that's the reason why you bought it, you need to either return it or sell it.

Many people find that it's still a useful device even without that feature.

  • Can I use T-mobile's SIM card for iphone6?

    I bought a unlocked iphone6 in Japan.
I'm planning to use it using T-mobile's nano SIM card with $30 a month plan.
    1. Can I use T-mobile's SIM card for iphone6? The website(below) implies that it is not combatible with T-mobile.
    http://prepaid-phones.t-mobile.com/sim-card
    2. Although my iphone6 is from Walmart, can I use $30 a month plan? The website(below) mentions that "This plan is only available for devices purchased from Wal-Mart or devices activated on T-Mobile.com"
    http://prepaid-phones.t-mobile.com/prepaid-plans
If I buy and activate the nano-SIM card in the website, I can use  $30 a month plan, can't I?
Thank you for your kind help!

That is OK. To activate iPhone you need a SIM Card from the Carrier the iPhone is locked to. It takes just moments for iTunes to activate the iPhone, once activated you can put the SIM Card back into the 4S when you like.

  • Can i use someone else's sim card to activate my iphone 5c and then take it out?

I ordered an iphone 5c through eBay and i had been told before (by an iPhone 5c user) that i could use it as an iPod. But the iPhone does not come with a SIM card and i was told that the guy before did not transfer his account. If i use someone else's sim card, can i activate my iPhone using itunes and then give it back? if not, what can i do to activate it that does not require for me to buy an active SIM card? It's a sprint phone

You will not be able to use a SIM to activate a Sprint Phone. The Sprint phones are CDMA devices and would have to be activated through Sprint. Your best bet if you would not want to use Sprint as a carrier, and do not have any intention to use the device as a phone to return it for a refund. You would have to have a Sprint contract to activate this phone.

  • If I have an unlocked iPhone 5c can I use my Tel Cel sim card when I am in Mexico?

I spend a lot of time in Mexico and need to know if I buy an iPhone 5c unlocked if I can use my Tel Cel sim card in it and use it in Mexico.

LTE is supported for 5C and 5S for TelCel Mexico

If it is unlocked, it should be able to work.

  • HT1937 Can I use an AT&T sim card in my sprint iPhone 4s?

Is it possible to use a sim card from another carrier with my sprint iPhone 4s?

Well it would seem that your iPhone is locked to Sprint and I believe the only carrier who now supports authorised unlocking is AT&T, so it would appear that no, you cannot use your AT&T sim in your Sprint iPhone. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1937

  • Can I swap out a iPhone 4 sim card into a iPhone 5 with the same carrier?

Here is the situation.  I used to have Sprint as my personal cellphone carrier and just had bought an iPhone 5 when my employer put me on a business cellphone plan that they pay for.  They bought one of the bargain basement original iPhone 4 handsets (not to be confused with the 4S) for employees to use, also on the Sprint network.  The phone is owned by them; the plan is paid for by them.  We just get to use it.  As a result, I decided to just close out my personal cellphone account, even though it was a better phone.  I used my 64GB iPhone 5 as my iPod, it worked great for music, apps, books, etc that I needed, and I just used the 8GB iPhone 4 just for phone calls and text messages.
Well recently, with the 5C and 5S being released, I wanted to know if the iPhone 4 could be upgraded by my employer to a new handset, preferably a 32 GB 5C or a 16 GB 5S.  My employer has been slow to respond, because there are so many employee accounts to weed through and most are perfectly fine with an older phone.  I am not, because the new operating system is slower on an iPhone 4 than an iPhone 5.
I want to ask my employer if its possible to get the SIM card from the iPhone 4 just swapped out into the iPhone 5.  Is that possible?  I understand that there is a size difference in the SIM cards.  Is this something I could do myself, just pop it out and pop it in in the new handset?  Or is this something that will require going to my employer to do, or to a Sprint store and have them do it?  Do I have to be concerned with warranties being voided if I want to do this? (Keep in mind the iPhone 4 is my EMPLOYER's property, and they pay the bill as well.  My inactive iPhone 5 is MY PROPERTY and has no current cellular service.)

I want to ask my employer if its possible to get the SIM card from the iPhone 4 just swapped out into the iPhone 5.  Is that possible?
No, iPhone 4/4S uses micro-sim and iPhone 5/5C/5S uses nano-sim.
