Your phone would need to be unlocked to allow you to do this. Was the phone originally unlocked and which carrier/phone company was it with?
You need to contact them to get it unlocked so that you can change carriers.

As long as you buy from an Apple retail Store (Apple owned ) an unlocked iPhone 4S it will work on GSM services worldwide

If you buy a SIM-free iPhone, you will need to purchase a GSM-compatible micro-SIM separately. When you travel internationally, you can use a micro-SIM card for iPhone 4s from a local GSM carrier.
The unlocked iPhone will not work with CDMA carriers such as Verizon Wireless or Sprint.
However the warranty will NOT be valid outside the US .If you need warranty or post warranty service you will have to return the iPhone to the US in person ( cannot mail in to US )

There is no such thing as an iPhone 4G. The model is iPhone 4 as in 4th generation in the line of iPhones. As for using a SIM adapter or cutting a SIM card to fit in one of Apple's iPhones it would void the warranty with Apple. Apple doesn't support SIM card adapters and especially don't warranty users cutting SIM cards to fit a MicroSIM card slot.

First, the iPhone would need to be unlocked. That would depend on where you bought it. Next, the North American phone would not work with all of the networks outside of the US. Also, the warranty for the device is only good in the US, so if you have a problem with the phone, you would need to bring it back to the US to an Apple Store. Where did you purchase the phone?

Actually you're in luck, you can still use iCloud for eMail on PPC using 10.4.11 or 10.5.8, but it must be IMAP, not POP...

My older brother decided that he wanted to get his own contract and left the line for her to take. She still hasn't payed yet because she is waiting for the bill to make the last payment including the ETF. The service on the phone no longer work and she was wondering if she can connect that phone with that existing line on the family share plan. I also want to know if this has happened to you. I went with her when she went to canceled the contract, the lady that helped us was being so nice to the people before because they just got new phones/contracts. When my mom told her that she wanted to cancel the contract she started being so rude like we were asking her to give us something for free. With the previous customers she was being all smiles but with us she was like whatever. She barely answer some question that my mom had and when she did, she answer with an attitude. She was the same person that helped when my dad, my brothers and me went to get new phone and she was being so nice. I couldn't believe she was being so rude. That was the worst customer service I have in Verizon. Its like they love you when you decide to get into a new contract but the minute you decide to cancel one its like you are beneath or that they could care less about what you want. Has this happened to any of you? Thank for your answer I really appreciate it.

I m living in turkey and because of simlock problem could never use my machine as a phone...now i can see from web that some companies in turkey are doing factory reset and it starts working.
also i watched some videos which apple and att helps people about this problem.
But i can not comminicate. in the support list of apple no topic about simlock or using the machine in abroad.
so if anyone can help me i will really be happy.

i've tried various ones but i will have to admit they were 3rd party dock cables.. like energizer and i could never seem to get them to attach to my iphone 4, so i gave up. im pretty sure when the iphone 4 came out they did away with the little tabs on the side that you depress to attach or let go of the cable and i assumed it was these tabs that prevented energizer's brand of dock cable from staying put. ill try again i guess. i've tried like 3 different models and none of them seemed

There is no way for iPhoto 08 to access the 09 Library. You would need to export the pics from iPhoto 09 and create a new 08 library and then import the pics again. Basically, you'll be starting over from scratch.

Hello - I have gotten a used Iphone 2G phone. There is firmware installed into it and I am currently on t-mobile. The phone is unlocked. I have my t-mobile sim card in the phone....and I can dial out, and receive calls and (text messages) and that is about it. When I make a call it says 'non emergency calls only" but I can still dial out. from what I was told (from a local wireless company) the phone just can't get past the activation so if I can get past that it will work...please help me if at all possible. and will be more then happy to provide additional details with the issue....thank you in advance!
