Thanks deggie. I know this is redundant but. . . If there is not wifi available then he will not be able to use his ipad to be oninternet-only when wifi available, right? All of our other devices are Verizon so his ipad 1 from AT&T is costing us an extra $25month. May be time to get a new one. Thanks.

I have just purchased and Apple TV box to use with my phone and Ipad. I was just wondering is i can also use my macbook air (late 2010) with it as well. I can stream my itunes through the apple tv and play all my songs but i was wondering if I could mirror the screen onto my TV. I am useless with all the macbook jargon i have seen in other posts so need some simple help. I am operating on Lion 10.7.5. Third, from my understanding, it would appear you are concerned about the noise the hard drive makes when it falls asleep? Why not put your machine in screen saver mode instead? Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Energy Saver turn off all Energy Saver settings, or set them to run Never.
Fourth, if your machine was purchased just a few days ago, you may still be able to get an exchange from the store, quicker than you can get a repair done. You may want to look into that possibility.
Fifth, it does appear you found the Logic forum. I would persist in asking there how to solve your technical issue with Logic regarding the audio. It may be you don't have to do anything special to the hard drive. Remember audio can be transmitted by wire, avoiding ambient sounds.

No, nothing will prevent the computer from going to sleep when you close its display except third-party hacks that are designed to do exactly that. I strongly advise against using any of those, as they may interfere with successful entry into clamshell mode (and they carry other downside risks as well). Just wait until the computer is asleep (with its sleep light pulsing), then press any key on the keyboard. It sounds as though your setup is working as it's designed to do.

You should be able to. If the projector has a speaker with acceptable sound, that's one option, otherwise powered speakers or a surround system.

Thanks, RichIn order to be cross platform you must be using the Open Type version of all fonts to cause the least disruption. Macs can read and process the Windows .ttf type format but PCs can't process Mac formatted type. Most recent versions also cannot use the older PS Type 1 fonts.
