How can I use stored music on my iphone 6 as a ringtone?

The iphone is not a storage/backup device.
The sync is one way - computer to iphone. The only exception is itunes purchases: File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
Copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one.
Iphone will sycn with one computer at a time.  Syncing to another will erase the current content.

    From your OLD computer...
Copy your ENTIRE iTunes FOLDER to an External Drive... and then from the External Drive to your New Computer..
    Full Details Here  >  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1751
An Added Bonus is that you will have a Backup of iTunes.
Also... have a look at these 2 Videos...

how can i use my music as a ringing tone??

I came across a GREAT program: iRinger.net. It's a free download and really easy (and Fun) to use!
I recommend watching the Instructional Video on the homepage that shows you exactly how to use it. Basically, you upload a song to the program, edit any portion of it that you like to a 40 second or less tone, then export it to iTunes. When you sync your phone w/ iTunes, it gets saved along with the rest of your ringtones. I had a blast last night creating about a dozen or so!

  • When I sync my iphone 4S using iTunes it only syncs 8.5GB of music, not the entore library as specified.  Is there a capcity default limit of the amount of storage that can be used for music and if so how do I change it?

The only limit is that of the device. No restrictions on how much of it you can use for music. Is part of your music library unchecked?

  • Can I use the Music of Iphoto for uploading diashows in youtube ? Or can i get in trouble because of license ?

can I use the Music of Iphoto for uploading diashows in youtube ? Or can i get in trouble because of license ?

This question comes up from time to time. YouTube and Facebook are both wrong.
There are a number of con-men who think that they can earn a quick buck from claiming that they own the copyright to Apple’s royalty-free jingles and sound effects included with the iLife applications. These are all free to use, as clearly stated in section 2.C of the iLife Software License Agreement:
“You may use the Apple and third party audio content (“Audio Content”) contained in or otherwise included with the Apple software, on a royalty-free basis, to create your own original soundtracks for your video and audio projects. You may broadcast and/or distribute your own soundtracks that were created using the Audio Content, however, individual samples, sound sets, or audio content may not be commercially or otherwise distributed on a standalone basis, nor may they be repackaged in whole or in part as audio samples, sound files, sound effects or music beds.”

You should quote this (also providing the above link) when following the dispute process with YouTube.

  • How can i use my music in itunes to make ringtone for iphone4s

Hi just got iphone 4s and would like to make some of my music as a ringtone but dont know who to do it , can anyone help me please

Before you start, first go to iTunes top menu, click "Edit", "Preference". Under "general" Tab, click "Import Settings", make sure under Import Using that "AAC Encoder" is selected.
    1. Right click the song in music library you want to create ringtone and choose “Get Info”
    2. Choose “Option” Tab, Check “Start Time” & Stop Time” of the track you want to make into ringtone and put in your start time and end time (Max 40 secs duration), then click OK
    3. Right mouse click the music again and choose “Create AAC Version”
    4. You will see a copy of song with same name appeared but with 40sec duration only. Now drag the song onto your desktop and you will see the name is now xxxxxx.m4a.
    5. Change the file extension m4a into m4r from the desktop
    6. Delete the 40sec m4a file from the music library (You must do this step or Itune will not accept your new m4r file).
    7. *Important - Now uncheck the start & stop time of the original song so that you can play back full length.
    8. Now, drag the m4r file from desktop to Library
    9. Click onto the Tones under Library, and you find you ringone file.
Once you have the ringtones in Tones library, you may sync it to your device.  Connect and select your iPhone on iTunes left Pane, then on right go to Tones tab and make sure SYNC Tones is checked and click the APPLY or SYNC button on the lower right window.

  • Can I use my music in iTunes as ringtones for certain contacts?

I have the iphone5 and I can't see where I can use my iTunes music as ringtones for contacts. Is this possible or do I need to get an app to do that? Also does anyone know of a good ringtone app that you can use your music from iTunes? I already downloaded a ringtone maker but I have the new iTunes and I could not get it to work!! Thanks...

    1. In your Music library, select a song you want to convert to ringtone
    2. Right-click on the song and select “Get Info” to view the song properties.
    3. Select “Options” tab. Fill in the “Start time” and “Stop time” to extract the portion of song you want to create as ringtone. From what I know, the length of custom ringtone should not be longer than 40 seconds. Otherwise, iTunes will not recognize it as a ringtone. When you are ready, click “OK” to confirm.
4.Next, right-click on the song and select “Create ACC Version”.
    5. iTunes then automatically extracts the portion of song you have instructed in the previous step. The new song file is just 40-sec in length. This is the song file you’ll work on from step 6 and onwards.
    6. Next, right-click on the song and select “Show in Finder”. This opens up Finder and locate the song file you just created.
Note: For Windows user, you should choose “Show in Windows Explorer” instead.
    7. As you can reveal from Finder, the song file is in .m4a extension and we’ll change it to “.m4r”, which is the file extension for tones. Rename the file extension from “.m4a” to “.m4r”. For Mac users, select “Use .m4r” when prompted.
    8. Go back to iTunes. Right-click on the song you have created (i.e. the 40 sec version) and select “Delete” to delete the song.Click “Delete Song” to confirm the deletion and then click “Keep File” when you?re prompted. This tells iTunes to delete the song (the 40 sec version) from music library and keep the actual file.
    9.
Go back to Finder and double-click on the ringtone file (.m4r) you have just renamed.
    11. The ringtone will automatically add it to the “Tones” library in iTunes. You can now sync it to iPhone as a ringtone or text tone. Enjoy!

  • Can I Use My Music Library With itunes and ipod if it's Only Saved to an External Hard Drive?

I have very little space left on my internal hard drives. I have the same music library saved on an external drive.  To get some space back, can I delete my music library from the internal drive C and just use the library on the external drive? Will it work in my itunes library and ipod? I want to download more music but I'm afraid to right now, because there is hardly any space left!

    Rick,
For everything you should know about Time Machine, see http://pondini.org/TM/FAQ.html.
If your photos were on your internal drive then, yes, they are likely to have been backed up by Time Machine.
However, if Time Machine starts running out of space, it will delete old back ups and thus your photos aren't really 'safe' just on a Time Machine back up. What you really need to do is either:
    Buy another external hard drive for storing your photos and other files, or;
Back up your photos to DVD's: there are a number of cataloging apps that you can use to catalog your files or, if you have named them something specific, use something like DiskTracker.
Either way, don't rely on your Time Machine back-up to store your photos.
Good luck - call back if you need more information,
    Clinton

  • Can you use ilife music on imovie videos to post on Facebook?

I thought that it was safe to use the music/sounds that came with IMovie on videos and post them without copyright issues.  But when I tried to post one to Facebook they told me it was a copyright infringement, and are requiring me to dispute it.  Before I do that I want to make sure I have not made an error.
    Can someone answer this question?
    Thank you.

You have the right to use the music. Unfortunately, even record companies can use these sounds as well, and then they try to slap a copyright on it. But you are totally within your rights.
Specifically, this is permitted in the Apple End User License Agreement for iLife, section 2.G.iii. which you can see here. http://images.apple.com/legal/sla/docs/iLife11.pdf
When you dispute it, do not claim to have original music, or that you own the copyright. Just state that you are licensed by Apple Computer Inc to use the music according to this document. It may help to name the jingle or sound that you are using.

  • Can I use the music "Run down bounty" in adobe elements 11 for commercial production (short film)?

    Hi,
in the sound bar are some songs eg. run down bounty. Can I use them for commercial - short film?
    thx

Are those part of the SmartSound Sonic Fire Library?
If so, you will want to go to the SmartSound Web site: http://www.smartsound.com/ as they have all of the licensing info for their music. You should be fine, but I would check, just to be sure.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
