I mistake to using Iphone charger to recharge my Ipad and now the Ipad can't recharge by the original charger. How can I do?

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. In rare instances when using the Camera Connection Kit, you may notice that iPad does not charge after using the Camera Connection Kit. Disconnecting and reconnecting the iPad from the charger will resolve this issue.

    can i use a 60 watts mac charger for an i.book G4

I use a 65 watt for both a G4 iBook and a G4 Powerbook. The 60 watt would just be a little slower. I assume it is not an Apple charger as a 60 watt  is not listed in the linked article.

  • Mails on iPhone shown as unread on Mac and vice versa - how to sync it?

    Hello dear supporters,
My question is concerning the Mail application both on Mac (Version 3.6) and on iPhone (iOS 4).
I have an e-mail account which I use on both devices.
As I am often on the road, I read many of my mails of this account on the iPhone but when I'm at my Mac I read them there so that, in effect, the status of the mails (read and unread) is different between both devices.
Now, when I'm plugging my iPhone to iTunes in order to sync contacts, apps and so on (I don't use other sync services at the moment), the status of the two mail programs is not getting synchronized, both applications seem to load, work and send the mails seperately.
The problem is that I always have to open all the mails on my iPhone manually which I already read on my Mac and vice versa in order to turn the "unread"-status (in both Mac and iPhone) off and to see which mails are really new. This is really annoying as I get a lot of mails and as my network is quite slow, it takes quite a while to tick all the mails off manually.
So the question is: how can the number of really unread mails (neither read on iPhone nor on Mac) be synchronized?
I hope you understand what I am talking about but if not, I while try to explain it other way (I'm not fluent in English but I will do my best).
    Thanks!!
P.S.: Another question (less annoying but would be also quite useful at some moments) is how I can synchronize the mails in the "sent"-folder as I want to see which mails I sent from my iPhone on the Macs' Mail application and vice versa.

More than likely with the situation you are describing, you have a POP3 account for your mail. If that is the case, they are designed to be used by a single mail client. They are not designed to be, and cannot be synced together, and if you open them on one client and leave them on the server and open the other client, they will still appear as unread.
The only alternative is to get an IMAP account, if your mail provider offers that, or look into some of the web based mail providers that have IMAP accounts available.
Attaching the iPhone to iTunes does not sync mail, even if you check off the box about mail sync, all that does is sync the mail account information (i.e. server names, etc.) but does not sync content.
    Hope that answers your questions.

  • Can you use the same Hulu Plus subscription on both the iPad and PS3?

Can anyone confirm whether a Hulu Plus subscription for the iPad also works for Sony's PS3 (or vice versa)? That is, can you pay ONE $9.99/month fee and have access from both the iPad and the PS3? The Hulu website seems to suggest that this is possible, but they don't come right out and say it. What I want to avoid is paying twice for the same service (i.e. $9.99 for the iPad AND $9.99 for the PS3).
Could someone who has a Hulu Plus subscription and both an iPad and a PS3 check this out. As of today (Nov 10), everyone on the PS3 can sign up for Hulu Plus at no additional charge (other than the Hulu subscription). Previously you also needed to be a member of the PlayStation Plus service (at $50/year) in order to subscribe to Hulu Plus.
Also, for anyone using a PS3 do you know whether the component video out works with Hulu Plus? Unfortunately, the iPad's component video out is NOT supported by the Hulu Plus app.

Okay, so I signed up for Hulu Plus and my new (single) account is working on both my iPad and the PS3. Also, the component output on the PS3 seems to work fine with the Hulu content. However, the Hulu streaming performance on the PS3 seems a little rocky. On my first and second attempts to watch something the video would play for a few seconds and then pause for several more seconds, it was basically unwatchable.
The content on my iPad seemed okay, so it looks like a problem on the PS3. Also, Netflix on the PS3 was fine and I even watched the same episode of a TV show that stuttered badly on the PS3. After watching the entire show on Netflix I went back to Hulu and the PS3 was still having problems. Then, after about another 10 minutes of playback hickups the PS3 seemed to get better. Maybe Sony's version of Hulu Plus (or someone's server) is getting overloaded right now since Hulu on the PS3 just went mainstream today.

  • Can i use the new 3g iphone in Japan and the US and switch between simcards

I subscribe to both softbank in japan and at&t in the states (both sole distributors of the new phone)
was wondering if i could just buy the NEW 3g iphone and switch my sim-card in and out when i go between japan and the states??

Unfortunately the answer is definitely no. I live in Japan but travel to the US frequently so I have an AT&T US iPhone account and a Softbank iPhone 3G account.
The best you are going to get is at least the ability to roam in either country effortlessly with 3G, which of course is silly due to the ridiculous roaming fees.
But, I am pretty sure this will be such a wide spread agitation that it will be hacked away into oblivion much to the chagrin of the carriers.

  • Can I use a 2011 Macbook Pro charger for my 2007 Macbook?

My charger for my 2007 Macbook works as an AC adapter, but will not charge my battery. My girlfriend has a new Macbook pro and I want to know if I can use her charger to charge my battery. I know they output different wattages, but I'm not sure how that will affect it. I have heard rumors that new Pro chargers will fry the batteries of the older Macbooks but I don't know if there is any truth to that. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

You can use a higher wattage charger to charge a mac that normally uses a lower wattage charge and that is fine.  You do not want to do the opposite.

  • HT4623 Cannot re-activate my iPad after the OS7 update, nor can I use iTunes to update it. I only the iPad and a PC, fyi.

I had my iPad for some time now and it's been activated and works. Then it auto updated to the new iOS7 and requires me to re-activated it, yet I cannot. This is the message that keeps popping up "Your iPad could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable. Try connecting you iPad to iTunes to activate it, or try again in a couple of minutes." I've tried countless times and still I get this message, I own a PC and never had downloaded iTunes before, so I finally downloaded it and tried to run it and I get this message "itunes cannot read because was created by a newer version." I never had iTunes before so I don't understand the message, i was going to look it up myself but I figured to post my questions here first. What can I do to activate my iPad? My wifi works great, it was activated before the update, can't use iTunes and I keep getting the same message on my iPad. I hope someone can help me and explain it in baby steps.

    Hey beetlethug,
I found the following troubleshooting steps for when you're experiencing activation issues, I'd give them a shot:
    Perform the following steps:
    Restart the iPhone.
Try another means of reaching the activation server and attempt to activate.
Try connecting to a known-good Wi-Fi network if you're unable to activate using a cellular data connection.
Try connecting to iTunes if you're unable to activate using Wi-Fi.
    Restore the iPhone.
If you receive an alert message when you attempt to activate your iPhone, try to place the iPhone in recovery mode and perform a restore. If you're still unable to complete the setup assistant due to an activation error, contact Apple for assistance.

  • Can I use Mac Mini as a "server" for a MacBook Pro and iMac?

I want to develop a simple system for accessing my files from multiple devices.
I heavily use iTunes (190 GB), iPhoto (120 GB) and iMovie (30 GB, but want to do more when I get time).  Additionally, I store lots of old videos on circa 10 portable hard drives (1 TB each), which I access occasionally.
The family use all this content and we currently have a MacBook Pro and are considering buying a new computer - either a new MacBook Pro or an iMac. We also have iPads, iPhones etc and a Time Capsule. We use wireless fibre optic broadband.
I don't really want multiple iTunes and iPhoto libraries.  We want all our music and pictures in single master libraries that we can all access and update.
As there is seemingly too much data to store on iCloud, we need to find an alternative solution.
    My possible solution is:
    (1) Load my master iTunes, iPhoto and iMovie libraries ("iTPM libs") on a Mac mini
    (2) Buy a new MacBook Pro or iMac (probably doesnt matter which)
    (3) Link the MacBook Pro(s) and iMac to the Mac mini to access iTunes, iPhoto and iMovie and the master iTPM libs
    (4) Plug the portable hard drives into the Mac mini whenever I need to access the video content stored on the portable hard drives
    (5) Add "users" to the system (i.e. family members), in the same way you would access a shared server at work
    (6) Over time, buy more computers to access the system in the same way
    My questions are:
    (1) Is this system feasible?
    (2) If so, can I edit the iTPM libs from the MacBook Pro or iMac?
    (3) If so, what happens if both the MacBook Pro and iMac are accessing the libraries at the same time? Which takes precedent?
    (4) Would this solution be significantly slower than having separate libraries on the different computers?
    (5) Is there an alternative approach that might work better for my needs? (which are, after all, relatively straight forward).  When I went to the Apple store they were unsure!
    Many thanks.

[…] We want all our music and pictures in single master libraries that we can all access and update.
The "update" portion of this is where your problems will arise.  You'd be better to consider your proposed system initially in terms of content "consumption", before getting into the nitty-gritty of editing shared content.
iTunes has the Home Sharing feature built-in, which solves the content consumption issue.
I don't know anything about sharing iPhoto libraries, but this KB article looks useful.
As for iMovie, I think there are two things you want to do: share the raw data (sound effects, music, photos etc.) that are used to create iMovie content; and share the finished results.  Is that right?  I'm not sure how you'd go about doing that, but if you clarify your aims in this regard, it'll help the next person who comes along.
When it comes to updating content, such as adding new music to iTunes or iPhoto, I'd suggest you do it through the Mac mini directly.  This seems the least problematic solution.  You wouldn't necessarily need a dedicated display for the Mac mini - you could use remote desktop or VNC or what-have-you.
As for speed: doing anything across a network is always going to be slower than doing it locally.  But, it probably won't matter for content consumption (though if you're all watching different movies at the same time the drives on the server may struggle, and the wifi bandwidth might be tight).
I hope this represents a good initial response to your query.

  • Can i use my TC as a NAS for both my mac and windows machines at home ??

im moving to my new place real soon and will have to set up my very own network.
have set up the network before at my parents with no problems, as we were all using windows machines.
with my new MBA, i am looking at 2 options:
    1) get an indepedant wireless router (eg. Linksys, belkin etc) and get another third party NAS (eg. Western Digital, Ioemega, etc)
    or
    2) get a 2TB time capsule and have my problem solved.
For (2), my only concern is if I can access the TC from my windows macine? For sure I know my MBA can access the TC, as a network point and as a NAS, but can my windows machine access the TC's NAS feature and wirelessly import and export data?
    appreciate your feedback and advise.
    thanks!
    Edwin

You don't need to re-format the drive. Just be sure to use the same network name on PCs and the TC. On Mac its detected automatically.
