That depends on what you mean by "use".
Sure you can use it without wifi. Many apps do not require a connection to the Internet. The iPod app (or Music and Videos apps, I can never remember which the iPod Touch uses nowadays), for example.
However, iPod Touch devices do not include the "cell phone parts" - i.e. they cannot connect to cellular voice or data networks. Therefore, when an iPod Touch cannot connect to a wifi network, it has no way to transceive data with the Internet (short of Bluetooth, but that's a special case and I'm sure not what you're asking about). -
Hi everyone! I tried to install the new iOs 7 on my iphone 4, but it wasn't completed (showing error 4005). Now, my iphone is stuck on the itunes' logo with the usb cord, and I can't use my phone. And itunes doesn't detect my iphone when I connect it on my computer, so I can't put it in recovery mode or someting like that... What can I do?? I tried everything they tell me to do in the apple support but nothing seems to work. Thank you!

Update: my PC USB hub was connected to a USB 3 port, I connected the 30 pin cable directly to my PC, And the restore worked just fine. Restored phone from iCloud backup and seems to be working fine. -
My iphone 4 is telling me I have to restore but when I plug in and connect to itunes, it freezes about 30-50 % through the process. Now I can't use my phone at all? I am waiting about 1-3 hours for this process to finish and nothing ever happens. HELP!!
Put it into DFU mode - hold the sleep/wake button and home button until the screen goes black (ignoring the slide to turn off slider). When the screen goes black release the sleep/wake button but hold the home button. Continue holding the home button for 10 seconds, then release it. The screen should stay black. Plug it into iTunes and it should come up with this message "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. It must be restored before use", that's when it is successfully in DFU mode. Now press the restore button in iTunes and it should run smoothly :)

I started update connected to my work computer....it started update and now it is asking me to connect to Itunes, which I have but my work computer doesn't have my Iphone information, it says I have the latest software, my only option is to "restore phone" which I don't want to do here at work as none of my apps or music are showing up ..... I can't use my phone now when I start up it says connect to itunes.....

Have you tried resetting your device by pressing and holding the Home button and power button until the silver apple appears? If that doesn't work, try resetting the network settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings.
If that fails, you may possibly have damaged the SIM. Verizon will need to give you a new one.

This will allow me to buy the cheaper version of the iPad without 3G.You can tethe, but depending on carrier you may need to pay for that option... I've decided to have my phone on one provider and my ipad on another so i always have connectivity... More expensive in the long run, but I need to make sure I am always "on" for work

That is not good but lets see if we can get it back to life. If you can, see if you can put your iPhone into recovery mode and then use iTunes to restore it. If you can get it to restore, it will erase everything off your iPhone. If you have a back up in iTunes or iCloud then you can put that on after the restore is complete. Can I use my Time Capsule for WiFi parental control. The objective first is to use a time clock to control internet access (completely on or off). Second objective is to use the Time Capsule which is also the WiFi router for more selective internet control? Anyone out there have any tips on making this work? We have Time Warner cable feeding the house internet, which is then corrected to the 2Tb Time Capsule which also provides our WiFi. Most devices have the AirPort ID or MAC Address or Hardware Address printed on the back or bottom of the device
Otherwise, you can learn the correct number by process of elimination. Turn off all wireless devices except your Mac computer....if it is connecting using wireless.
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click on the Time Capsule icon
Look for Wireless Clients and click on the numerical IP address that is displayed
Another box will open
Look for the Hardware Address. It will be displayed as xx : xx : xx : xx :xx : xx
Write that down and note that it is your Mac.
Now, connect another wireless device and repeat the sequence. Click on the "other" listing that you see to find out more info about that device. Write down the ID or Address and note what device it is. Then power it off.
Do the same for each wireless device that you want to have limited access.
Post back when you have all the info. -

I need to shut my zoom off on my Iphone 5, it is to large and can't use the phone.
I have a iphone 5 from a person. Been learning how to use it by myself. I went to accessibilty and clicked on Zoom and was experimenting with it and got the screen to large and can't get it back to normal, now I can't use the phone because it is magnified so much. Tried to connect to help but couldn"t see the message that Apple sent to me on my phone. Don't have all the specs because the party was out of state from where she lived therefore I have any more info. Please help.
