Can I use my Tiger install disc on more than one computer

I have a Powermac G4 15" and an imac G4 17". The p-mac has Tiger and the Imac has Panther. Can I use the install disc that came with the p-mac to install Tiger on the imac?
Thanks for a great forum!
G4   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

Welcome to Apple Discussions!
PowerMac G4s never were 15". Don't you mean Powerbook G4 15"? If you mean Powerbook G4 15" and it came with Tiger, then the answer is no, as my FAQ explains:
http://www.macmaps.com/upgradefaq.html#SYSTEMSPECIFIC
If you mean a PowerMac G4 with a 15" Apple LCD, it may have come with an older operating system. Use the articles I link to on:
http://www.macmaps.com/macosxnative.html#IDENTIFY
to identify your Mac.
And use
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=25517
to determine which operating system came with that Mac.
If both machines came with pre-Mac OS X 10.4, they can use a Mac OS X 10.4 Family pack if they meet specs for the installation.

  • Can I use my lightroom 5 CD on more than one computer? Toshiba to my new Mac Book Pro?

I have Lightroom 5 CD that I've used for 2 years in my Toshiba laptop. I have a new Mac Book Pro and was wondering if I purchase an external CD for it, can I use my software on my new computer. I wasn't sure if it can be used on more than one computer...It doesn't say on the software box.
    Thank you so much!

There are normally three options: License, buy or try. See image below.
Did you double click on the package in downloads to start the installation?

  • Can I use Creative Cloud for students on more than one computer at the same time?

I get different info when I read about how I could use creative cloud.
Somewhere it say I can install and activate on two computers but only run the applications on one computer at the time.
On antother place I read that I can use the applications on two computers at the same time.
    So what is correct?
Can I install and activa Creative Cloud for students on my PC and my Mac and also run the applications on both computers at the same time?

I already gave you the info you seek, but you don't seem to want to accept it.  Here it is in writing from Adobe's EULA (find it at: General-terms)
    "4.1 Subscription-Based Software License.
If we provide the Software to you as part of your subscription to use the Services, then subject to your compliance with these terms, we grant you a non-exclusive license to install and use the Software: (a) in the Territory, (b) so long as your subscription is valid, and (c) consistent with these terms and related documentation accompanying the Software. “Territory” means worldwide, but excludes any U.S. embargoed countries and countries where you are prohibited from using the Software or the Services. You may activate the Software on up to 2 devices (or virtual machines) at a time, if these activations are associated with the same Adobe ID for the same individual, unless stated at http://www.adobe.com/go/activation. However, you may not use the Software on these devices simultaneously."
You appear to want to believe that because you think you have a way of getting around the agreement without being caught it would be okay to do.  You are bound to the agreement if you purchase the subscription.  Do you understand what intentionally (and with fore-knowledge) failing to honor a contract constitutes?

I disagee (you called it threadjacking twice), but we can argue about that elsewhere.
As far as I know, only Lion Server and Time Capsule provide networked Time Machine services
    It is supported.
    From Lion (client) Help:
So many folks asked how to set it up that I wrote instructions on my web site -- Time Machine - Frequently Asked Question #22 -- no "unsupported" command needed.

You can install on two as long as you use only one at a time.

Can I use the same email address in more than one community? How?

Yes, you can be a member of multiple communities under the same email address. You will need to be invited to those communities. If you are trying to create new communities under the same address, you will not be able to do that through our website.

  • Can I have my Adobe X Pro on more than one computer?

Can I have my Adobe X Pro on more than one computer?

Well, yes, but I think there's an important point to make; I'm surprised you talk about "downloading it again". That suggests you didn't make an archive copy of the installer you downloaded for the first computer.
It is VITAL to archive a copy of what you download for software you buy. That doesn't mean just leave the download on disk, because you will need it if that disk fails or computer is dropped on the floor. We constantly see people that didn't get a copy of their old software, and now it is no longer available for download, leaving them just stuck!
So, please, save a copy on CD or DVD. Also, write the serial number on the disk, and any qualifying number if it was an upgrade. I'd hate you to be another statistic in the "how do I reinstall my old software" threads.

  • Can I use the same iCloud account on more than one PC?

I'm new to iCloud. I use Apple devices but a PC both at home and work. I'd like to have the same iCloud account on both PCs, but not sure if I can do this. Can anybody clarify please?
    Thank you.

Yes, you can use the same iCloud account on more than one device. Thats actually the basic idea of iCloud, syncing and exchanging data of different devices without a cable. E.g. your address book on the iPhone is modified and you computer gets the changes via iCloud…

  • Can I use my iTunes Store account with more than one PC ?

    Hi all,
Am I able to use my iTunes Store account with more than one PC ?
I use my account on my PC - but I would like to download the latest version of iTunes onto my Mum's laptop, log in to my own iTunes Store account and rent a movie for her to download onto the laptop.
Is this possible and would I still be able to use my account on my PC at the same time?
    Many thanks,
    Steve.

    Good question.
I don't think you can--if I'm incorrect, someone will tell me--but it seems to me to be easier to simply open an iTunes account for your mom. Then get her a gift card, load it into iTunes for her, and rent a movie that way. Not elegant at all...but workable.

  • Installing FCE on more than one computer

ok, so im getting ready to purchase FCE HD and install it on my G4 eMac.
My question is: When I upgrade to a new computer next year, am I gonna have to RE-PURCHASE the same software for my new computer?
Or will I be able to use my already paid for software?
    thanks, Dan

    Amy and All,
This is one of those occasions where the letter of the law is an animal like a donkey!
(I can't use the correct quote because the equally stupid decency censor thinks I am swearing!)
You can use FCE on both computers so long as you uninstall it from the one you are not using at the moment!!!!
Obviously the rule is really intended to stop TWO PEOPLE using the program as you can legally use it on as many computers as you want provided you uninstall it first.
I think that Apple should reword it something like this:-
"You may install the program on more than one computer provided that you are the sole user of those computers".
When you see the blatant piracy that occurs on eBay etc. it makes a mockery of this particular rule.

  • Installing Lion on more than one computer

Does anyone know how to install the Lion OS on more than one computer?  I downloaded and installed Lion on my iMac today, but want to do the same for my other two computers as well.  Is there a way to find the DMG file and save it onto a flash drive instead of downloading it all over again?  I searched using Spotlight and could not find the downloaded file anywhere.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

If the iMac was already updated, then the installer is no longer on the computer.
The easiest way to do this on your other Macs is to sign in to the Mac App Store using the same Apple ID as on the iMac, find Lion and click "INSTALL." You will not be charged again.

  • Can you use the same Apple ID on more than one MacBook Pro for updates and applications?

We just got a few new MacBook Pro's and when I went to install updates it said I need to make an Apple ID.  Can you use the same Apple ID and email address for that Apple ID on multiple machines, or do I need them both to be unique per machine?  I'm not sure how that works when you have multiple machines.

An Apple ID is a user name you use for everything you do with Apple. Creating an account for an Apple service, such as the iTunes Store or the App Store, creates an Apple ID. Apple ID allows you to access other Apple services.   So you can use the same Apple ID for up to 10 Macs associated with it.
To create an Apple ID you need to enter  your full name and your primary email address as your Apple ID. This will be used as the contact email address for your account.
