Can I use one account on more than one device?

I've set up Skype on my Android phone, my iPad, and my laptop PC. I paid for a $10 subscription using the PC. But when I try to make a call on either ther phone or the iPad, I'm told that I need to get a subscription. Does this mean I need separate subscriptions for each device? Do I have three different accounts?

I am experiencing the same - I have one subscription but when I try and use of my various devices there is not 100% reliability - sometimes it works and sometimes i get the message that i need skype credit

    Sync iPod/iPad/iPhone with two computers
Although it isn't possible to sync an Apple device with two different libraries it is possible to sync with the same logical library from multiple computers. Each library has an internal ID and when iTunes connects to your iPod/iPad/iPhone it compares the local ID with the one the device normally syncs with. If they are the same you can go ahead and sync...
I have my library cloned to a small 1Tb USB drive which I can take between home & work. At either location I use SyncToy 2.1 to update the local copy with the external drive. Mac users should be able to find similar tools. I can open either of the local libraries or the one on the external drive and update the media content of my iPhone. The slight exception is Photos which normally connects to a specific folder on a specific machine, although that can easily be remapped to the current library if you create a "Photos" folder inside the iTunes Media folder so that syncing the iTunes folders keeps this up to date as well. I periodically sweep my library for new files & orphans with iTunes Folder Watch just in case I make changes at one location but then overwrite the library with a newer copy from the other. Again Mac users should be able to find similar tools.
As long as your media is organised within an iTunes Music or Tunes Media folder, in turn held inside the main iTunes folder that has your library files (whether or not you let iTunes keep the media folder organised) each library can access items at the same relative path from the library folder so the library can be at different drives/paths on different machines. This solution ensures I always have adequate backups of my library and I can update my devices whenever I can connect to the same build of iTunes.
When working with an iPhone earlier builds of iTunes would remove any file not physically present in the local library, even if there was an entry for it, making manual management practically redundant on the iPhone. This behaviour has been changed but it will still only permit manual management with a library that has the correct internal ID. If you don't want to sync your library between machines on a regular basis just copy the iTunes Library.itl file from the current "home" machine to any other you want to use, then clean out the library entries and import the local content you have on that box.

  • Can't use the iPod on more than one computer!!!!!!!

Ok, This has got me so frustrated! We got an iPod and installed iTunes. We thought we had it figured out - we purchased music from iTunes, played it on the iPod and everything was great. Then plugged the iPod into my other computer to listen to our music and it won't freakin' play! says the computer is "Not Authorized" and suggests that by 'authorizing' the 2nd computer, it will overwrite the songs that are already on the iPod. This is NOT desirable. We've downloaded and installed iTunes onto the 2nd computer and used the same login account that we used on the first computer.
What gives!?!?! I thought this was supposed to be easy, but it's not! I was hoping for a quick and simple "plug it in and start listening to music." This is definately not quick and simple. Albeit, I'm new to this iPod craze, but this shouldn't be so difficult. I've poked around on the website and cannot seem to find an answer to this.
    HELP!!!!
    Thanks
oh btw, Is anyone else getting annoyed by Apple's rediculous attempt at monopolizing this market by forcing us to use thier own proprietary software?!?!

First of all, any computer that plays purchased content must be authorized. This can be accomplished by opening iTunes, then store>authorize computer. If you wish to use your iPod on more than one computer & not have your iPod content erased, you will have to have your iPod preferences set on "manually manage". See the following link.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61675
Also, it's not only Apple that uses proprietary software. How about Zune players, & several others?

  • Can i use my ipod with more than one computer?

i synched my ipod with one computer, hooked it up to another and it says i can't sync with more than one library? it says i have to restore it but i dont want to delete my music off of my ipod, i just want to add the music from this other library

I have two different iPods and two computers. I regularly use either iPod on either computer.
First set the preferences so itunes will not automatically sync when ipod is connected.
Then connect the ipod and set itunes to manually manage music.
Drag and drop whatever content you want to the device showing on the left.
If this was the default setup, there wouldn't be all these posts about people losing all their music when they connect their ipod.

  • Can i use my ipod on more than one computer?

ok i have my comuter at home and then a computer at work.
and basically i want to use them both to update my computer but ive heard you can only use it on one computer because if you install it onto another one it clears the hard drive?
so can i have it on two computer?
    many thanks
    alex

    hi reko!
i am at work now and have just downloaded itunes, and have my cable with me now, and i am wondering if i plug it in right now will it erase my ipod? because i haven been home to set it to "manual"?
    good question.
if it asks you if you want to associate your ipod with the library on the work computer, say "NO!" (if you do associate it while you're on auto it will replace everything in the ipod with the contents of the work itunes.)
if it then shows up in the sourcelist of the itunes at work, try switching it to manual on that PC.
if no joy though, it would probably be best to head back home and switch it manual from there.

  • HT201250 Can I use Time Machine on more than one computer?

I have a new Mac Air and would like to back up to my existing Time Machine which I also use for my older Macbook. Can I use back up both on time machine?
    thanks

General rule of thumb is you need a drive about 2-4 times the size of the total amount of data being backed up. See #1.

  • Can I use an app on more than one computer?

if I buy an app for my mac, can I use it on my powerbook?

Not if you download it from the Mac App Store. The Mac App Store requires Mac OS X 10.6.6 or later which will not run on a PowerBook. If there is an application that also has a version that will work with the older OS on your PowerBook, they likely would have no way of knowing that you bought it from the Store and you would have to pay again.

  • Can I use aperture library on more than one machine

    My situation is thus:
I have a Macbook Pro on which my Aperture Library resides, in wherever Aperture decided to put it when I bought the software.
I now have a iMac, which obviously will be better than the Macbook for photo editing.
But I want to be able to take my Aperture Library with me when I take the Macbook out and about, and if necesary still edit on the Macbook.
Is there any way to share the Aperture Library, so that I can edit on the iMac, but leave the library on the Macbook, and then edit on the Macbook if I wish.
I am the only user, and will only be using Aperture on one machine at any one time.
I have searched archives but not managed to find the answer.

Is it possible to simply share the directory that contains the necessary file(s).
If your Library is in the location that aperture picks by default, then it will be in your "Pictures" folder - look for a file with a name like "Aperture Library. aplibrary".
What you will need to share depends on your import strategy for the master images. If you use managed masters, and all your master images reside inside the Aperture library, then you simply need to make this library file accessible  or copy it to an external disk.
If on the other hand your masters are referenced, then I would recommend to consolidate them into the library before you share the library and then share the consolidated library.
If you will share your library over the network or just by moving it to an external device is really up to you, but you might consider  the following pros and cons:
    - If you want to profit from the faster CPU on your iMac, then you should keep the library on the fastes volume that is available, and a network volume might be much slower than a directly connected volume.
    - if the network fails during a critical operation your library might get corrupted, if it resides on a network volume - there have been quite a few problems reported in this forum.
That is why I suggested to use your Macbook as directly mounted external volume, that leaves the library in its place on the Macbook Pro - no need to copy - and you have a very quick and stable connection,  but the decision is yours to make. You will have to be comfortable with the workflow you choose.

  • Can you use Quicktime Pro on more than one computer?

I'm thinking about buying a Quicktime Pro 7 key, but I couldn't tell if it is just for one computer, or if I could use it for both my iMac and labtop. Anyone know? Thanks.

  • Can I use NIDAQ32.dll with more than one application?

We have some third party hardware and software which uses a PCI-6602 board and NIDAQ. I wanted to use some of the functions of the board for something else in a VB 6.0 program, but I always got errors with NIDAQ32.dll not being found if the third party software was running. It worked fine if I closed their software. I talked to NI, and they said you could not access a board with two applications at once. Fine, so I bought a PCI-6601 to put in the system to do my other functions. However, I still get the same error, saying the NIDAQ32.dll can not be found when I try to run my VB program. Anybody have a solution? I really need this to work, or this board is pretty useless to me...
    -Matt

    Matt,
You CAN access a board with two applications at once. However, you can not access the same resource on a board with two applications at once. Analog input, analog output, and digital I/O are each their own separate resources. Each individual counter is a separate resource. Since your application works fine with the third-party software closed it sounds like your third-party software is doing something to the NIDAQ32.dll. I recommend contacting the developers of the third-party software and finding out what they are doing with the NIDAQ32.dll and if they even intended other applications to access the DLL at the same time.

  • Using Adobe apps on more than one account?

Is there a fix forthcoming for the problem running CS4 on Leopard, where you can't use Adobe apps on more than one user account at a time (via fast user switching?) When I switch over to my 2nd account, I get some sort of "licensing error" dialog unless I quit all Adobe apps in my first account, which is incredibly annoying.
    Thanks.

    Greg,
Adobe's single-user licensing allows for your installation and
non-simultaneous use on two computers. And the software may think that two different users are trying to use the software simultaneously. You might try contacting Adobe tech support and ask.

  • Using Ipod Nano on more than one Comp

Can you use IPOD Nano on more than one computer? I tried but on my computer at work, I cannot transfer from IPOD to computer, only computer to IPOD
    Please Help!!

I should be able to play it where ever I want
And you can. Just burn it to a data CD, or transfer it to the other computer using a thumb drive, or use networking to transfer it, or even use the Hard Drive feature of the iPod to transfer it. Nothing stops you from doing any of those, and then when it's on the other computer you can play it there just fine.
