I have version 5 on my old computer. I tried to install it on my new one which has Vista and cannot get it to install.
Is it possible to install on Vista?

Yes, it should install, but you need to get the special patch (the 5.0.2 update) to make it run correctly:

EDIT I'm assuming you meant to say "Photoshop Elements" rather than "Photoshop" since this is the PSE forum. For PS 5, you should ask in the photoshop for windows forum for help.

I've been searching for a tablet to take with my while traveling. I'd like to mainly view photos, maybe doing some limited editing and 'save as.' Recommendations and cautions about Android tablets are all over the board, but it genearlly seems:
With Nexus tablets I've been told you will need the Media Importer app to create folders, access the files on your memory card, etc.
If you want to view or work with files from your memory card/camera, ook for a tablet that has either a microUSB or a USB port (very few have these) to plug your memory card into. For the microUSB port, you'll need a microUSB-to-USB converter so you can plug in your USB card reader.
Note that some tablets don't even have these ports, but only a port for docking or for video, in which case you'll have to see if the docking port has a USB port, which means you're carrying around another piece of equipment, so you might not want to go that route.
I'm not clear on this, but I've been told that some manufacture's versoins of Android don't allow you to create or access file folders, as in the Nexus. Not sure how wide-spread this is.
And of course, if you're wanting to work directly from photos in your camera or on your memory card, don't get a tablet that will only allow you to access files and programs via 'the cloud.'
I have list at home of some tablets I think will meet all of the needs for what I want to do. I'll post it later today for comments.

Yes your edits will be there if you import the edited version. Yes it will go to the Cloud with the edits. What you read is that edits made in iPhoto and Aperture after the library has been migrated will not be available in Photos. But you could still export from iPhoto/Aperture to the Finder and then import to Photos, like with PSE.

Adobe has clearly decided not to invest sufficient resources for properly maintaining the Photoshop Elements Organizer– see my Amazon review of PSE 8. Lightroom is marketed to professionals and prosumers with tens of thousands of photos who demand adequate organizational capabilities, whereas Photoshop Elements is marketed to consumers, most of whom do not want or use the Organizer.
This page captures my answers to frequent questions about Photoshop Elements 6, 7, and 8 (Windows). It’s mostly about the Organizer, since I know the Organizer much better than the Editor.

Can't use Photoshop 5.5 with Tiger 10.4.6 onPowerbook inspite of re-install

I can not use Photoshop 5.5 completely with Tiger 10.4.6 on PowerBook G4 15". Some features on the palette, such ac the cropping tool is simply not available. I have re-installed Photoshop 5.5, but no luck. Photoshop 5.5 works fine under 10.4.6 in Pismo with G4 upgrade. What gives?

It sounds like it is time to upgrade to Photoshop 7 or later. If it doesn't work properly in Classic, and you are finding your Pismo is becoming unworkable, either replacing it with another Pismo or Mac OS 9 booting machine is advisable, or upgrading to a Mac OS X native version of the software is advisable.

Probably. Install PSE3 and see if it works. If not, you can always try setting PSE3's "Compatibility Mode" to XP.

Usually, Adobe Bridge is automatically installed as a companion app for Photoshop - for example, if you download Photoshop CS6 through Creative Cloud, Bridge will also be installed. But Photoshop can definitely be used as a "stand-alone" application.

There is a solution (I'm running Snow Leopard on a Core2Duo iMac, but this problem arose when I was running Leopard on a G4 PowerBook too).
Problem:
You download the OS X driver for the scanner from Canon's site. I already had the CanoScan Toolbox (4.1) stored on an external drive.
You unzip the driver and run the VISE installer. After a search it finds your copy of Photoshop (and maybe even the CanoScan Toolbox), and you click to install on that/those location(s).
You get a couple of error messages, which you click through.
You restart your computer and try to run the scanner but you get an error that the driver is wrong or missing and the process will abort.
Solution:
BEFORE you restart, and with the installer package still open -
1. Copy the Into_CFMSupport_Login & Into_CMPrefs folders to
Applications : Canon Utilities
Applications : Canoscan Toolbox
and remove the prefix Into_ from each folder
2. Check whether the installer placed N067U_Library.shlb into the top level (not User level)
Library : CFMSupport
and if it didn't, move it there yourself
THEN restart, and try again. It worked for me (via Photoshop), but whether it will work for everyone, I don't know.
