Can I use private browsing to play FaceBook games?

Let's see if I can explain it right. I was using private browsing and then BANG I do not know what happened. I was asked if I knew anyone from Scurrry Texas because they were trying to log into my Facebook page. After that I know longer have private browsing for games??? I took the steps to secure myself but still have the name Scurry, Texas as my secured location. Please help me get to the bottom of this. Getting a whole of Facebook is like pulling a tooth.

Private browsing doesn't store anything on your computer, so it makes difficult to log in a website like Facebook. In other words, you shouldn't be able to play Facebook games while you are on private browsing

  • How can I use Private browsing alongside already open regular browsing window?

''Duplicate post, continue here - [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/816143]''
    Hi,
Whenever I start Private browsing, all the tabs and windows which are already open closes and then the Private browsing window opens. All the tabs and windows reopen after I stop Private browsing. What I exactly need is to open a new Private browsing window so that I can continue using the existing tabs. Is there a way of achieving this in Firefox 4?

    (also looking a solution)
There was an addon that did exactly this but it's discontinued now. It probably worked the same way as you laid out here.
Now is there another add-on that does the same thing?

  • HT1461 Can one use boot camp to play computer games normally only found for PCs?

I have some older computer games, specifically Warhammer 40k rts games, that I woud still like to play and was curious if boot camp would allow me to play those on my mac? Also, if it is possible am I putting my computer at risk in any way? I'd like to play them but not so badly that I would be damaging my mac pro or shortening its lifespan. There dont appear to be any emulators out there currently so I'm checking here to see if anyone knows anything.

Yes. There are several ways to run Windows on the Mac:
    Windows on Intel Macs
There are presently several alternatives for running Windows on Intel Macs.
         1. Install the Apple Boot Camp software.  Purchase Windows
XP w/Service Pak2, Vista, or Windows 7.  For Boot Camp
4.0 and above you can only use Windows 7 or later. Follow
instructions in the Boot Camp documentation on
installation of Boot Camp, creating Driver CD, and
installing Windows.  Boot Camp enables you to boot the
computer into OS X or Windows.
         2. Parallels Desktop for Mac and Windows XP, Vista Business,
Vista Ultimate, or Windows 7.  Parallels is software
virtualization that enables running Windows concurrently
             with OS X.
         3. VM Fusion and Windows XP, Vista Business, Vista Ultimate,
or Windows 7.  VM Fusion is software virtualization that
enables running Windows concurrently with OS X.
         4. CrossOver which enables running many Windows
applications without having to install Windows.  The
Windows applications can run concurrently with OS X.
         5. VirtualBox is an Open Source freeware virtual machine such
as VM Fusion and Parallels that was developed by Solaris.
It is not as fully developed for the Mac as Parallels and VM
             Fusion.
Note that VirtualBox, Parallels, and VM Fusion can also run other operating systems such as Linux, Unix, OS/2, Solaris, etc.  There are performance differences between dual-boot systems and virtualization.  The latter tend to be a little slower (not much) and do not provide the video performance of the dual-boot system. See MacTech Labs- Virtualization Benchmarks, January 2013 | MacTech for comparisons of Boot Camp, Parallels, and VM Fusion. Benchmarks of all of the above except Crossover can be found in Benchmarking Parallels, Fusion, and VirtualBox Against Boot Camp - The Mac Observer. Boot Camp is only available with Leopard or later. Except for Crossover and a couple of similar alternatives like DarWine you must have a valid installer disc for Windows.
You must also have an internal optical drive for installing Windows. Windows cannot be installed from an external optical drive.

  • Can i use a superdrive to play computer game discs? (Running Windows?)

Can I use my USB Superdrive to play computer games on a macbook air running windows?

Of course. Just connect the Apple USB SuperDrive to your Mac and insert the DVD with the game. You may need to install it first.
You may need to install the Windows support software, too. Look for your MacBook Air model and your Windows version, and install the correct Windows support software > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5634?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

  • How can i remove private browsing for good..my child knows about it and i am pretty sure he uses in in a provacative manner

Using private browsing for provocative use... porn ect.....

Note that removing or disabling "Private Browsing" will not make it impossible to delete private data like visited websites (history) or cache or cookies.<br />
There are a lot of ways to clear such data, either via [[Clear Recent History]] or directly by deleting the History in the Library or sidebar.<br />
Private Browsing makes it easier because all data is kept in memory and nothing is saved to disk, so nothing needs to be removed.<br />

  • I Use Private Browsing Always, and Still Get Sanitize.js:136 Error

All add-ons, extensions, plug-ins, and Firefox itself (v. 7.0.1) are up-to-date. I ALWAYS use Private Browsing, but still get the chrome://browser/content/sanitize.js:136 error. After "exiting" Firefox, Firefox refuses to close right away. I either wait for it to close, or I have to use the Task Manager to shut it down by force. Firefox is also using phenomenal amounts of Memory or CPU at times. Tonight, after closing Firefox out and literally 10 minutes later, I got the above Sanitize error. There have been other javascript errors ever since updating to v. 7 of Firefox, but I don't remember them offhand. I get MANY of them while using Facebook, but lately haven't even visited Facebook. I haven't seen any other users post this particular problem while using Private Browsing, so thought I'd give it a whirl. It's driving me insane and I just don't know what to do to correct the situation. Thanks for your replies!

Hi, cor-el, and thanks for your reply. I do remember at one point in time (was quite a while ago) when the Plugin Container was a real problem. If I remember correctly the problem I was having, Plugin Container would still be running in Task Manager after closing out Firefox (sometimes even more than one Plugin Container). Looking over the link for Plugin-container you provided, I checked to see how mine are set and they are all set at "false."
As far as Clear Recent History, I can't. My Firefox browser is set for Permanent Private Browsing and I see nothing to clear.
Today, I've used Facebook and took screenshots of the js errors I get there. These errors virtually make Firefox unusable. By this, I mean, it locks up and becomes unresponsive. See attached.

  • When using private browsing to view image results in Safari 5.1.3, only the first two rows of results are visible, the following four or so rows display greyed out place holders, and the safe search button is inoperable. Suggestions?

When using private browsing to view image results in Safari 5.1.3, only the first two rows of results are visible, the following four or so rows display greyed out place holders, the remainder of the results page is blank, and the safe search button is inoperable. When I turn off private browsing and refresh the page, everything works again.
    Anyone else having this problem?

I have got the same behaviour after the last Safari Update to 5.1.3. It seems that Safari now handles some scripts in a new way. If you debug the Google Website, you will see, that there is some Javascript Error, that seems to prevent to write into local cache. After some searching I wasn't able to finde a solution for this problem, other then disabling Javascript while private browsing to prevent the script loading. You then are able to use Google with the old layout. The option to disable JavaScript can be found in the Menu "Developer", wich has to be enabled in Safari in the options first.
In my opinion this is a bug that is now occuring, because Apple changed something in private browsing and that has to be fixed by Google now, to run again. Or we will have to wait for 5.1.4, as you can read online Apple will change and bugfix the javascript engine in that version, perhaps this fixes the problem as well. I hope so!
If anyone is in the developer program perhaps you could test this with the beta of 5.1.4 and tell us if it works.

  • Option to use private browsing is missing in the dropdown list

The option to use private browsing is missing in the dropdown listo I think this happened after I down loaded an app that was supposed to help me shutdown private browsing since I didnt know how to do it. I dont remember which app it was. But either way its gone now..

    Hi,
Unfortunately Firefox doesn't have an option to open a private tab in the current regular window.
You have to open a new private window for private browsing.

  • Firefox crashes every time I try to use private browsing

Firefox works fine until I try to use private browsing. As soon as the "Start Private Browsing" screen appears, FF crashes.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
    See:
    * [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]]
    * [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
    * Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
    * Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

  • When I use private browsing I am taken to the Mystart page in Incredimail which I don't want as I would prefer to use Bing and I wondered how I could change from Mystart to Bing

Whenever I use private browsing I have to use mystart from Incredimail and I prefer to use Bing.I cannot find anywhere in Incredimail or Firefox where I can alter this.
== Every time I use private browsing

    Hello.
I can't be sure about this, but I'm guessing you have some kind of extension or plugin changing the behavior of Firefox. Try running Firefox in safe mode (to disable extensions and plugins) to see if this fixes the issue. If it does, you'll need to track down which extension or plugin is causing the problem (simply disable them one at a time). If this running in safe mode doesn't fix the issue, it's possible that some kind of about:config entry is causing the issue. Do this:
    - type about:config in your address bar and press enter
    - say "yes I'll be careful" if the browser asks you something
    - now, search for "incredimail" (without the commas) to find any and all strings with it. Simply rightclick ALL of them and select Reset.
    That should fix the issue.

  • Why does Firefox 'remember' a login from my last session when, on both occasions, I was using "Private Browsing"?

Why does Firefox 'remember' a login from my last session when, on both occasions, I was using "Private Browsing"? How do I stop this (without clearing other data)?

Try disabling hardware acceleration. Many visual bugs can be attributed to issues with graphics drivers.
(Firefox -> Options -> Advanced -> General -> [ ] Use hardware acceleration when available)

  • Who can access my private browsing history?

I was on a web page and I was on private browsing for some reason and now I can't access it obviously. So I was just wondering who would have access to that history, also if I did get access to the history would I be able to access the web page I was on. If anyone has any knowledge on this I would appreciate it thanks.

If you used Private Browsing and then closed that window or tab, that data is lost forever. There is no way to get it back.
