  • Why can't I add videos to my iPod touch 4th gen?

I have updated my 4th gen iPod touch to the most recent iOS, 6.1.2. I want to put videos in it. I have already converted my videos to the appropriate format and put them in iTunes. But when I drag the icon of the video to the iPod touch icon, it won't work. On the other hand, when I do the same to the iPod classic, it works like a charm. How come I can't add videos to my 4th gen iPod touch? HELP!

I would try placing the movies in the iTunes movie library and then using the Create iPod and iPhone Version in the advanced tab of iTunes.  It is likely that the format is not compatible with the iPod.  There are many variations in the mp4 format and all are not compatible the iPod.

There is no way to control the iPod from a computer

  • How can I install iOS 7 on my iPod touch 4th gen?

How can I install iOS 7 on my iPod touch 4th gen?

    You can't
. As Apple said in June, iOS 7 is not compatible with the 4G iPod.
All the iOS devices compatible (iPhone 4 and later, iPad 2 and later, and 5G iPod touch) with iOS 7 have at least 512 MB of memory (RAM). The 4G iPod only has 256 MB

  • Trying to upload to youtube a 16:9 video through my ipod touch 4th gen and its not working.

Hey i have managed to download the Imovie for the Ipod touch 4th Gen, I can't seem to export or upload to youtube a 16:9 screen just a very thin screen. I don't have a apple mac, I have windows vista. I realise for some features you have to use a apple mac. So is there anyway that I can fix this problem, thank you for your time and patience.

    See:
    fix for Home button
Fix a broken, unresponsive or sticky iPhone Home Button
You can also go to Settings>General>Accessibility and turn on Assistive Touch It adds the Home button to the iPod's screen.
Yes, if you get it fixes, the iPod will likely be erased. Apple will not repair your old iPod, they exchange it for a refurbished one and do not transfer data.

  • Can I watch videos from my iPod touch 4th gen on my tv

I have purchased a composite video AV cable to TV RCA cable to watch my videos from my iPod touch through my tv. The lead apparently works with all ipod touch and iPhone 4, and all software updated, but I can not change my video settings to play through the tv as I don't have the option to change to tv out.
Does anyone know how to get around this?
    Thanks

Ok, I have music videos on my iPod, purchased from iTunes and I want to view them on my tv. I bought the cable as I was told this would work. If you can't view a video bought from iTunes on a tv, what can you view?
All connections are correct, the iPod states that the video is being played through a tv, but nothing shows up on my screen. And yes, I do know which channel to switch to. I just don't have the option on my iPod or iPhone to switch to tv out, whether the cable is plugged in or not. Every where I look for info it says I need to change my options to video out on my iPod settings, but it's not an option available. All I get on my tv is a plain screen as if nothing is connected.

  • Video/Photo Recovery (iPod Touch 4th Gen)

I bought an iPod touch new and started using it for photos and videos. However I plugged it in to iTunes and it synced with my backup files, wiping the previous videos and photos off the device. Is there any way I can recover the photos and videos I took before syncing?

  • Can I fix the screen on my iPod touch 4th gen?

The screen is basically spiderwebbed and I know that you can affordability replace yourself or get an expert to replace the screens on second and third gens. But can it be done with a 4th gen. and if so how much would it cost?

    - To fix yourself see:
    iPod Touch Repair – iFixit
It says where to get parts.
    - Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $99, $149 or $199 depending upon the capacity.
    - A third-party place may be less expensive. Here is one, Google for more.

  • Why can't I get iOS7 on may iPod touch 4th gen

I am mad because 4th gen iPhone can get iOS 7 but 4th gen iPod cant

Because that iPod touch model has only 256MB RAM and iOS 7 requires at least 512MB.

  • How can I get apple to warranty my iPod touch 4th gen? It has always had issues and seems to be a lost cause. Will not connect to wi-fi. It also has cracked screen, but that is not the issue.

It has a cracked screen also but that is not the issue. I am willing to live with the screen

Unfortunately, ANY signs of 'neglect or damage' automatically become the cause of any issues you're having. As in it doesn't matter if your screen was flickering before it was dropped, when they see the dent or cracked screen, that screen flicker was caused by the drop. Because they  have no way to know if you are telling the truth (it's nothing personal, they just literally dont' know) so any signs of damage become the reason for your issue. The only way out of that is if you had taken in your iPad and, even if you didn't get it replaced, an apple employee can have documented that yes, that issue existed before the drop.
It's not fun, I know, but that's just how it is. Any signs of 'neglect or damage' and that 'neglect or damage' is the cause of your issues.

  • Can I get a copy of the iPod Touch 4th Gen user guide on my iPod?

Hi, I just got my first iPod a few days ago (64 GB model) and I wanted to know if there was a way to view the user guide on my iPod without having a wifi connection.
Not every place I bring it will have wifi access, and I'd like to be able to have the guide readily available to read.
Thanx in advance for any help.

    Hello Nyxx9,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
One work around is to download a copy of the *User Guide* from Apple website. Then import it into iTunes (it will go into the Books category) and sync it over to your iPod via the iBooks application.

  • I can't find my App Store? Ipod Touch 4th Gen.

I had in the beginning, but then dad had a look at it and he couldn't find it! it was GONE!!!
We looked EVERYWHERE but couldn't find it!!
    Plz tell me the answer!!!!

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
If you're on Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later, the App Store should still be visible when you click on the  Apple in the menubar, following About This Mac and Software Update, even if you removed the App Store icon from the Dock at the bottom.

  • Unable to sync music on Ipod Touch 4th Gen

I can't sync my music into my Ipod touch 4th Gen... as you can see, the sync button is completely inaccessible.
I have already authorise my computer but the problem still present itself....  help? and thank you so much

    Hi dazeio,
You might want to try dragging and dropping the music onto the iPod. For this demonstration, I am using my iPhone.
Click and hold onto the album. Then, a side panel will pop up on the left. (as shown in the picture)
Move the album over the iPod and let go.
    Hope this helps!

We are evaluating the use of iPod touch devices to record best practice videos on our manufacturing floor and to post to an internal Moodle web site. How can you upload a video from the iPod touch to a site other than YouTube? The Moodle upload interface is expecting a file selection dialog box like windows or OSX. I do not want to have to go through an intermediary step of messing with a pc.
    Thanks!

It should be around 7 and a half gigs. In iTunes, across the bottom there should be a bar that show how much storage is being used and by what. (music, movies, apps, etc.) To make music take up less room, you can check the box to make it convert the music to 128kbps AAC. This lowers the quality, but with most earbuds and speakers, you can't even tell the difference.
The iPod touch has parental controls built in. You'll find them in Settings. I think they only work for enabling/disabling Safari, Mail, YouTube, and App Store. Here's an app that does more: http://www.mobicip.com/online_safety/ipod_touch

  • I can't seem to get my iPod touch (4th Gen) to play photo slideshows or videos through my TV.  Is this a design flaw?  Or is it me?  My old iPod used to do it no problem, but now I can't even find any video out options in the settings.
