Can I use the Apple Discussion software?

I have my own web server and I was looking for some good forum software. I usually use phpBB. However, I started dreaming of forum software that would be great and remembered how much I like the Apple Discussions forums.
I am sure the answer is no, but it does not hurt to ask. Does Apple have any plans to make their forums software available for other people to use?
If this is not the proper forum for this topic, I apologize. It did not seem to fit anywhere else.
Thanks,
Jonathan

I agree. I am never sure when to mark something as a question because it may be quick or it may be a hard one and trying to decide who gets credit for what comments seems like a lot more work than I am looking for usually.
You had a definite Question. I do not see the confusion in marking it as such
clearly you did, it certainly was not a statement. Others do the work to help.
Deciding whom to reward and w/ what I think should be part of your work in return.

i recently buy an iphone 4s and by default i set it to saudi arabia and i would like to change it to united states since i can't use the apple store of usa any help plzzz

Besides setting the iTunes store to the US, you will also need
    a credit card issued in the US with billing address in the US;
you also are supposed to be located in the US when using the
US store, and there are periodic software checks to verify that.
Simply changing the iTunes store to the US iTunes store will
not allow you to make purchases/download free apps without
meeting the other requirements. Do you meet them?

  • Can I use the Apple ADC to DVI adapter with a VGA monitor?

    Hey everybody,
I have a quick question. I work on computers fr friends and family as a hobby. I have an ADC monitor and need ot be able to hook up computers with a VGA port on them to it. Can I use the Apple ADC to DVI adapter along with an Apple DVI to VGA adapter to successfully connect VGA computers to my ADC display? I was assuming this would work and ordered both adapters but now I have made myself nervous about weather or not this will actually work. Has anybody out there successfully done this? Thanks for your help in advance everybody.

You can't run an ADC display with a VGA computer without a converter. Adapters won't do it.
a VGA to ADC converter will drive the ADC display directly

If you have the Apple DVI to ADC adapter
    <http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wa/RSLID?mco=18 72D402&nplm=M8661LL/B>
you could use it with a VGA to DVI converter
    <http://www.gefen.com/kvm/product.jsp?prod_id=1310>
It might be cheaper to get DVI graphics boards for the computers and use the Apple DVI to ADC adapter.

Your title says "Can I use the Apple ADC to DVI adapter with a VGA monitor?". If you want to connect a VGA monitor to a computer's ADC port you need the ADC to VGA adapter
<http://www.gefen.com/kvm/product.jsp?prod_id=1299> You can't use an ADC to DVI adapter followed by a DVI to VGA adapter, because the ADC to DVI adapter doesn't pass the analog video signals needed for VGA.

  • Just bought Apple TV. Our Hi Def TV only has S Video or RCA outlets. Can we use the Apple TV?

Just bought Apple TV. Our high def tv only has S Video or RCA connectors. Can we use the Apple TV? Thanks

Apple TV only supports HDMI. It doesn't sound like it is an HDTV, even if you use an adapter there is no guarantee it would work and even then you would not be able to watch HDCP content (i.e. iTunes, Netflix etc).
If the TV is not widescreen and/or doesn't support at least 720P you will also have issues around that.

  • Can i Use The Apple Wired Keyboard With Camera Connector Kit

Can i Use The Apple Wired Keyboard With Camera Connector Kit
    3g 64gb verizon

People report it is still possible to use a wired USB keyboard with the CCK, if you use a powered USB hub to get around the "not enough power" error message.  (I have done this with an older Apple USB keyboard my non-jailbroken iPad1 on iOS 4.3.3.)  Normally, powered USB hubs have a AC power adapter so you lose portability unless you can find a battery powered USB hub.  At this point, the (in)convinience of the USB hub becomes an issue, depending on what you get.
And wired USB keyboard were never supported for the iPad.  So there's no guarantee that it will continue to work with future iPad updates from Apple.  So best to go with a Bluetooth keyboard unless you have a specific USB keyboard that you "must" use.  If you have all the equipment already, I say give it a try.  But I would not recommend trying a USB keyboard if you have to purchase anything.

    Mike,
If by "still nothing" you mean they are not showing up in the AU manager after reinstalling them....
Im guessing the AU Cache itself is now corrupted so.....
    Quit LPX
    Open Finder
Press the option key and click "Go" in Finder's menu and select "Library". (This is the User Library and not the System Library and is normally hidden which is why you have to hold down the option key when clicking on Go.... to reveal it in the drop down menu that will appear)
Go to "Caches" dir and remove "AudioUnitCache" dir.
    Now Restart your Mac.....
and then Launch LPX and let it rescan your plugins and see if that fixes things....
    Fingers crossed...
    Nigel

Can I use the Apple Time Capsule to store my compressed DVD's & BD's to access from my iPad/iPod/iPhone wirelessly while on a trip if I have the Time Capsule plugged in in the car/SUV?

what player do you intend to use? That is what I am wanting to check.. you understand there is no itunes server in the TC..
BTW if you want to use the TC in your car/SUV.. convert it to 12v operation.

  • Can you use the apple remote to control tv programs?

Can you use the apple remote control like a tv remote to control tv programs & DVDs on the computer? Everything I've found about the Apple Remote talks about using it for products other than desktops. I watch some regular tv shows on my iMac & would like to be able to use a remote control.
    I have a built-in infrared receiver.
    Thanks!

You should be able to control DVD playback now with the Apple Remote. You may be able to get a bit of functionality with web sites by using Remote Buddy by using it as a virtual mouse and keyboard:
    http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/21872/remote-buddy
but you're not going to get anything close to the sort of functionality you'd get with a remote and a TV.
    Regards.

  • Can you use the apple time capsule as just a wireless hard drive without using it as a router

Can i use the apple time capsule as just a wireless hard drive without using  a router

You can, but this type of configuration is not recommended or supported by Apple.
Two cautions if you want to try this:
    1)  The Time Capsule has to be configured to "Join" your existing wireless network in this type of setup...and to do that, you must know the exact type of wireless security that your network is using.
    2)  Backups are going to take twice as long. The wireless signal must travel from your computer to the wireless router and then from the wireless router back to the Time Capsule.  Two "hops"......even if the computer is located close to the Time Capsule.
If you want to try this, we can tell you how....but with no guarantees on your results....since this is not officially supported.

  • Does the new iMac coming in December have a dvd drive? If not can you use the Apple USB SuperDrive?

Does the new iMac coming in December have a dvd drive? If not can you use the Apple USB SuperDrive?

The soon to be released new iMacs don't have a DVD drive. I don't believe that Apple have updated their site to say their USB drive will work, but the expectation is that it will.
I watched the keynote and when Phil Schiller was presenting the new models I think he mentioned something about it working and he had one on the desk next to the iMac.
I'm going to check the keynote if it's still up and I'll update my post if I'm wrong.

  • Can I use the Apple Loops in my iPhone application ?

    Hi,
I use the Apple Loops for GarageBand to create my application soundtrack. But I don't know if I have the rights to do it.
Someone can say me if I can ?
    Thank you !

You can include the loops as part of your own soundtrack. But that soundtrack must be an original work. You cannot redistributed the loops by themselves. You have to make some new composition with them.

  • Can  i use the apple TV in India.

I am planning to purchase a apple TV. can i use it in india with some internet provider.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can use the Apple TV anywhere, but some locations may have less available. In India, I believe there are no TV shows for sale.

  • Can I use the third party software to backup my system?

I have bought a new Thinkpad, and I just want to backup my system, but Lenovo Onekey recovery is not easy to use. I confess that it is very concise and powerful. But, I have to say some disadvantage, that is, It need to press the button and shut all computer. I want to backup my computer silently, and the process won't affect my other operation. I have searched a software- AOMEI Onekey Recovery, but it is the third party software, should I use it to backup my system. there seems to be more powerful in their page http://www.backup-utility.com/onekey-recovery.html, how should I determine? could anyone tell me the advantage or disadvantage?

Can I use the new Time Capsule to backup my mid 2010 Macbook Pro?
Yes, if you are asking about using Time Machine to backup the Mac.
Also can I want to free up my hard disk, can I save my photos and files on the time capsule and later access through wifi?
You are not thinking of deleting the photos and files on your Mac, are you?  If you do this, you will have no backups for those files.
Another concern is that Time Machine backs up the changes on your Mac. At some point, Time Machine will automatically delete the photos and files from the Time Capsule.....you just don't know when this might occur.
In other words, only delete files from your Mac that you can afford to lose.

  • Can I use the Apple TV wirelessly?

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question.  I don't have an Apple TV and am thinking of getting one.  What I am wondering is, how can I use Apple TV if my TV is in the living room and my iMac is in the office?  Would I hook up the Apple TV to the TV via the HDMI and then can it connect with my iTunes on my iMac wirelessly if I have Airport?
Also, can I transfer TV shows that I have recorded on my Tivo DVR to the Apple TV?  I need to transfer the TV shows and don't know how to do this if my computer is in another room and can't be hooked up to the Tivo DVR.  Could I move the DVR to the office and somehow transfer the shows to my iMac?  What about the Apple ??? that has I think 2 TB or 4TB.  Can I transfer the TV shows to that if I bought that.  Sorry, but I can't remember what that was.  Thanks for understanding my newbie questions.

Would I hook up the Apple TV to the TV via the HDMI and then can it connect with my iTunes on my iMac wirelessly if I have Airport?
    Yes.
Also, can I transfer TV shows that I have recorded on my Tivo DVR to the Apple TV?
    No.
Could I move the DVR to the office and somehow transfer the shows to my iMac?
Possible, but not sure how -- it would likely be possible, but not simple.  You probably won't find much assistance here for something like that, but you can see if you get any response.

  • How Can I use the Apple time capsule on another network?

I have just swapped out Virgin Broadband for BT broadband (BT infinity - BT HOMEHUB 3 wireless device)
I would like to reconfigure my Time capsule so that I can use it as part of my new wireless network (as a wireless back-up device).. but not use the router part of it.
I believe this is possible?  Am currently using 10.7.5 of OS X.
Can you please let me know what steps I need to follow?  (I am happy to start again if need be).
    With Thanks
    Simon

You cannot use the extend option with another brand router.. so the above will not work with the BThub. And WDS btw is now not used on the TC or apple routers.. haven't ever since N wireless came out.. the above article is for G wireless routers of yesteryear.
The best way to do it is bridge the TC.. that is router bridge not wireless bridge.. and simply plug it by ethernet into the BT hub.
You can then setup wireless however you want.. it can reinforce the existing wireless. Simply use the same name (SSID) and security setting.. (should be WPA2 Personal ie AES).. and passkey.. but if you want to make it sure, then lock the wireless channels. This is called a roaming network.
