Can I use the iPad 3 with older wireless keyboard

I now have the IPad 3 and have the Apple wirless keyboard that I got for my IPad 1. I have not been able to connect it.

No, as mentioned it is not useable as a true phone, and the carriers will not treat it as such,
You can make voice over IP calls with it, just as you can with just about any internet connected device.  But no cell phone company is going to let you use a cell phone plan on a data-only device like an iPad.

Sorry, but no. Because the iPad does not have a cursor for you to use the mouse with.

Can I use the cellular link with other cellular provider ? I don't live in the us

As I understand it (haven't seen any) If you have an AT&T version of the iPad 2, or i believe all versions of the iPad 3 have a SIM card slot, you can insert a SIM from any network.
the key is that you want to buy one that has the SIM card configuration. the older verizon only ones are built to operate on the CDMA protocol which is incompatible with most of hte world.
So having the Micro Sim option is key to international cell access.

  • I plan to purchase a Mac mini and then a new iPad.  Can I use the iPad as a monitor and keyboard for the Mac mini, either through the USB connection or thru Wi-Fi?

I plan to purchase a Mac mini and then a new iPad.  Can I use the iPad as a keyboard and screen for the Mac mini, using either the USB connector or Wi-Fi?

I'm sorry, I should have said thru Bluetooth, not Wi-Fi.  I want to use the mini as a base station and the iPad like a laptop that I can sync when I'm home and carry with me when I travel.  Is is possible to hook these 2 up - iPad/mini, through Bluetooth?  I understand I need to use a regular monitor/keyboard/mouse on the initial install.

  • Can the iPad work with a wireless keyboard and mouse?

Would like to know if the new iPad will work with a wireless keyboard and mouse!

There are quite a few threads requesting this facility, so I thought I would choose this recently active (at the time of writing) post to reply to, in the hope some thinking appleite with influence stumbles upon it.
I totally get Apples philosophy of not polluting their interface design concepts with the introduction of a clunky so-last-year cursor; I actually agree.  What I can't understand so much is that there are a number of apps that could benefit from mouse support. The one I need is RDP.  This class of apps allow us to connect to servers running other operating systems using the IPad; why not authorise CERTAIN APPS to access the Bluetooth mouse stack, and let us have joy.  It doesn't affect the iPad experience in the slightest, at least not to it's detriment.
The new retina screen is such that I actually prefer the experience of using my iPad to connect to the server than my laptop!, but given I develop software, there is no way my stubby finger can compete the clinical accuracy of a mouse when using intricate interfaces such as MSDE.  With just that one addition, I would practically move into the post pc era you tout so much, at least in my interfacing With the post pc pc,s :).
    Thanks

  • Can I use my Ipad 3 with Verizon Wireless only on a month to month basis as needed?

Verizon wants to bind me to an ongoing contract for my Ipad 3. I understood when I bought it from Apple.com 2 years ago that it could be on Verizon's data plan on an as needed monthly charge. It would not be an ongoing charge.  Then I would only pay a monthly charge of $10 for the months that I was signed into their data network. I could sign in and out of the network as I needed to.  I will only use the Ipad on Verizons network  2 to 3 weeks per year when I'm on vacation and away from my home wi-fi, (I have a different home provider for wi fi at home). I have only had it activated on my Verizon account one time a couple of months ago. I called a month ago to cancel my data service for the Ipad only, not my phones.  Since then, I have received emails say that they will continue to bill me. Is Verizon just trying to........? (Be Verizon).

Re: Airplay. This is currently up to the developers to implement so it has nothing to do with Apple. Hulu have decided against it for legal reasons.
IOS 5 will bring airplay mirroring with iPad 2 but will have to wait and see to test. It isn't out until the 12th.
Airplay will work with the Macbook but only through iTunes

This is an older photo but the sleep and home buttons are still in the same place on all iPads. The home button is the round button at the bottom of the iPad and the sleep button is also called the on/off button and it is at the top right corner of the iPad.

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after the iPad shuts down, then press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).

Can I use the ipad with 3G in egypt if i bought it from the us

You will need to get a local micro-sim, but yes you should be able to. 3G iPads bought in the US are not locked to a carrier, but in order to use a local micro-sim you'll need the AT&T version if buying from the US - the Verizon iPads are CDMA based and don't use sim cards (so are effectively locked to Verizon)

  • Can I use the ipad keyboard Dock for pairing with a non Apple laptop?

I am thinking of getting the keyboard dock for my IPad 2.
I also have an IBM laptop with blutooth. Can I use the iPad dock as a keyboard for the IBM?
    Thanks

If you're referring to this dock:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC533LL/B?fnode=MTc0MjU4NjE&mco=MTg1ODE1Mjc
it is not a Bluetooth keyboard so can't be used with the laptop.  And the keyboard dock was originally designed for the curved back of the iPad1.  So while it does appear to work with the iPad2, some people report that it's a little loose and sometimes get intermittent disconnections with the connector.
As for Bluetooth keyboards, some can only be paired to one device.  To use with two computers, you may have to un-pair from the first device, the re-pair to the second device.  Some keyboards can "switch" without un-pairing, but you have to research to ensure the model you want will do that.  Depending on your usage, it may be more worthwhile to get separate keyboards.

  • Can i use the magick trackpad with the ipad?

can i use the magick trackpad with the ipad? and the iphone?

I'm looking for this same answer, I wonder if any new info. I've gone from posts saying why would anyone want to, and I now see that this is in the ATV section, which actually suits me because the setup I'm using it for is when I don't want to be up in my office on my iMac, but rather in the lounge in front of the big screen with my iPad mirrored to the Apple TV and bt keyboard connected. I wouldn't actually suggest anyone go out and buy a Magic Mouse or trackpad, but since I already have them would like to use it to make things easier when using my iPad as a mini computer with my TV as the screen. I can currently use the iPad to scroll no problem, but if I have to click somewhere specific then I must look at the iPad screen vice just moving a mouse or trackpad and having a pointer show up on my screen.  Obviously if my iMac was much closer,  I could mirror that screen and my keyboard and mouse would work just fine. (That is if my iMac was newer, but it's not, its a late 2009 model and that apparently is not new enough to be compatible with airplay mirroring.)

  • Has anyone gone to Europe from US and used the IPAD charger with only a plug adadpter and had no problems?

Has anyone gone to Europe from the US and used the IPAD charger with only a plug adapter?  I want to be sure I won't burn up my IPAD.

Just using an adapter will be fine.  The charger can handle to 220V just as well as the 110V

Thank you so very much, for anticipated replies.
    Joshua.

The AT&T model has a microSIM card that can be changed for the microSIM card of other 3G carriers in other countries. You cannot do this with the Verizon model.
