I'm in a work camp, didn't bring in my wall charger, and I'm wondering if I can use the ipad4 charger on my gopro hero?

The little power brick with the USB outlet can be used, but not the cable obviously.

The real power adapters meet are necessary international safety and agency compliance standards - do the counterfeit products meet the same threshold. You can use it to charge your iPad and iPod, but it will be slow charging your iPad - you are better off using the iPad's own charger to charge it.

It is quite safe to use the higher powered iPad charger for other devices, as they will only use the amount of power required for charging, eventhough higher power is available. The Apple store shows all devices that can be safely charged with the iPad charger, see the link below.

Whenver you see the plug symbol on the iPhone, it means its running on external power.
Some datacenters use this method/always-on UPS, (AC power charges the battery bank, datacenter is connected to the other end of the battery) If there is any interruption in mainline power, the system stays up while the generator warms up.
Do they have any battery degradation issues? Nope.
Apple designed the iPhone to handle multiple methods of charging and discharging events.
Remember, when new on the forums, whenever/wherever you post, people are trusting the information you provide, if its inaccurate, out-of-date, etc, you might want to do some research and learning about new technology.
