Can I use this solution if using Mac OSX 10.9.5?

Illustrator CS4 crashes whenever I attempt to print. It crashes before the print box even appears.
I found a possible solution here from Adobe Crash printing | Illustrator, InDesign | CS3, CS4 | Mac OS 10.7
but it refers to 10.7 and I'm using a Mac OSX 10.9.5. Does anyone know if I should use this solution??
Any ideas or input greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

By default, OS X Mavericks 10.9.5 Network MTU is set to 1500. If you perform the following at your SMB server, with an MTU of 1500, you will likely receive Message too long, and the SMB share takes a very long while to mount. This might be the contributing factor that has you believe it is an SMB MTU configuration issue.
ping -c 1 -D -s 1500 smbserver
If you dial the Network MTU down in a custom setting, the ping is immediate, and the SMB share mounts briskly. I tried values in small decrements until the message too long ceased.
ping -c 1 -D -s 1472 smbserver
I have done some searching and I do not see how, in Apple's current SMB implementation, that one can configure /etc/nsmb.conf to reduce SMB MTU size. See man nsmb.conf.

Short answer is yes. Long answer is read the license agreement and call your lawyer with any questions.

Given that your answer to 1. is 'pre-installed' and 3. is 'No', I think the only thing to do is to take it to an Apple store (ideally the one you bought it from) and have them reinstall it for you.
The intended solution in cases like yours is that you should be able to reboot and install even a wiped disk by using Apple's servers over the internet (you do this by restarting with 'command-r' and choosing 'reinstall Lion'). However if this isn't working for you then you need to get the store to do it. Don't let them fob you off with 'go home and try again'. Have them do it in the shop (you're still covered by Applecare warranty so it should cost you nothing save the inconvenience of the trip and possibly leaving the machine there while they fix it).
A reinstall should leave all your own personal data and programs in place.
Note for future: when you get it fixed, first thing to do is buy a cheap external drive and start keeping a backup (either Time Machine or clone with Carbon Copy Cloner).

When I try to send multiple attacks within a second playing Travian, it is impossible because it is too slow to confirm "resend information" on each tab, and it also takes too long to move from one tab to another. I've tried changing all the possible settings I can think of, but nothing seems to work.. This works fine if you have windows or linux, so how can I make this work with my mac, or do I have to get a pc just for that :( Thank you ever so much for helping me.. I've spent countless hours on this and I am just about to give up playing Travian because of this one stupid little thing :(

Go step by step and test.
1. System Preference > Sound > Output > Internal Speakers
    Highlight Internal Speakers / Headphones
    Make sure that Mute is not enabled.
2.Plug in and remove the headphone.
    If you see red light in the headphone port, plug the headphone
    in and out of the port 5 or 6 times to flip the microswitch inside.
    Sound output may be stuck in the digital mode.
    Try this even if you don’t see the red light.

    Do this twice

    Choose the appropriate method.
    Choose the method for:
    "Resetting SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own".

No. 10.6.3 was the last retail release of Snow Leopard. Download the 10.6.8 Combo updater and put it on a flash drive to make it easier to install the largest part of the update.
Also, don't push the same disk image of SL to your Macs unless they are exactly the same model as it was originally installed on. The wrong hardware drivers will otherwise be in use.
