Can I synch them both on my iMac with the same iTunes files?
Yes. Just plug them in to transfer the same content to each, or click here for options.

i had an ipod classic and used it for a few years until i got an iphone.
Now I want to return to use it to fit all my songs on, however i now use a different itunes on a different computer.

can i put two ipods on one itunes

The OP didn't ask how.  They only asked if it was possible, which would consist of either a yes or no answer, which is exactly what Niel provided.
If the OP wanted more information, they will respond asking for more information.

  • How can I use two Ipods on one computer.

I was wondering if it is possible to use 2 Ipods on one computer without having to reload all of the music to the new library.

If you are adding a second iPod for your own use, just connect the new iPod to your computer and follow the on screen instructions. It will update from your existing library. Depending on the size of your library and the type of iPod you choose you can have it update all songs and playlists, selected playlists only or you can manage it manually
If the iPods belong to different users then there are actually a few methods for using more than one iPod on a single computer: How To Use Multiple iPods with One Computer
Just to summarise what's in the link above which is a little out of date:
Method one is to have individual Mac or Windows user accounts which by definition would give you completely separate iTunes Music folders and libraries.
Method two is to set your preferences so that any or all of iPods get updated with only certain playlists within one library:
Loading songs onto iPod automatically - Windows
Choosing the update option "Sync Music - Selected playlists" allows you to create a playlist specifically for each iPod and drag the tracks you want into it. If you tire of the list and want to change it, you just add or remove the songs you don't want. The ones you take out out remain in the library to be used by the other iPod. You can read more about playlists at these links:
iTunes: Creating playlists of your favorite songs
How to create a Smart Playlist with iTunes
Another option when using a single library is to set any or all of the iPods to manual update: Managing content manually on iPod

  • Can I use 2 ipods on one itunes account?  I have also used 2 computers.

I'll try to make this clear.
I had one computer and one ipod set up on itunes. The computer ran on Windows XP.
I gave the computer to my niece and left the itunes account alone.
I bought a new computer that runs Windows Vista. I installed a new itunes account.
I bought a smaller ipod to record audio books. I wanted to keep the larger ipod for music.
Now I have the smaller ipod on the new computer. If I decide to download music, I can't use the larger ipod that I want to use for music. How can I own two ipods and use itunes? I am not file sharing. I just wanted two devices for two purposes because I like to keep the audio books separate. Now if I go back to the original ipod (the larger video one)it is not recognized on my new computer. A lot of the music on the original Windows XP computer was from CDs that I owned, not just music I purchased. I probably should have just stuck with one ipod, but I didn't. I am so confused.
Can I put the music on my old ipod, from the old computer, on the new itunes? I would then just use the new ipod. It probably has much more storage than I realized. Then what happens when it syncs? Would I lose everything? Is there a machine that can transfer music from one ipod to another, then I could just sync it all on the new ipod and new computer?

    Hi mverza
Yes you can use as many ipods as you like on differnet itunes libarys. As long as you manually manage your ipods and don't sync. You can put your purchased music on as many ipods as you like (as long as you manually manage your music and you connect to the computer you bought it from). You can transfer purchased music to your ipod for a maximum of 5 computers (so you can play music purchased music on only 5 computers) although apple have changed the rules so there is no file protection)
But see here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1420 for more infomation.

  • Can I use two ipods on one PC?

Hi, I have my own ipod, but would like to get another for my boyfriend but he doesn't have a PC, therefore everything would have to be done from mine, including different albums etc. I am sure I can do this but how does it work?
    Cheers

    Hello Soo,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
Yes you can. And there are several different methods for how to handle syncing two iPods to one computer. For the information and steps on how to handle these methods, I would check out this Apple support document.

  • Can I Have two Ipods on one itunes?

Hello I need help.I have a nano 2G but I'm going to get an ipod classic. Can I just plug the new ipod to my current iTunes and use both ipods with it?.

Yes, I have a 3G and a shuffle and it works fine with one, the other, or both connected. Has for some time.

  • Can i use two ipods on one computer

    im using a 30GB

Well, obviously, you can't fit as much on the Nano as you can on the 30 gig. Beyond that, you can do pretty much as you please. iTunes will recognize each device. My solution is to set each iPod to "Sync Only Selected Playlists". I then have playlists which are specific to each iPod as well as playlists that get synced to all of them.

  • Can i use two devices with one itunes account?

I share a laptop with my husband.  We have had "sync" issues in the past with his contacts and my contacts intermingling on our separate iPhones.  Can I create two different iTunes accounts for us to sync independently?  What should I do about this?  With the advent of iCloud, we're both going to be autosyncing...right???

This won't be a problem, iTunes will see the new device as a separate device, it will have its own settings under iTunes, you can set it up to sync the same content or different content to the first device, it will have no effect on how the first device syncs with iTunes.

  • Can I have Two iPods on one iTunes???Help Me!

    Hey There,
I'm just wondering if I can have 2 ipods on the same iTunes (can i put my library on a friends new ipod?????)
Help me! Last time i tried something with i tunes i lost my music.
    Thx

    Khiemke,
Theres two ways to use One computer with 2 iPods and have each iPod have its own music, one is to creat 2 playlist, another is to create 2 user accounts in windows. This is all explained at the link below, personally I think the 2 user accounts in Windows is Best. If you go this route make sure "Fast User Switching" is OFF in windows, iTunes doesn't like this feature on.

  • Can I do two iPods on one iTunes on my computer?

I have a previous iPod and created a library. Now I have a new iPod and do not want all the same songs on both iPods. Is it possible and what do I have to do?

    Hi all.
I would like to add to this topic if I may. What If I wanted to use my existing library with my new ipod touch and still keep accessing it with my older ipod video? Would this cause problems? Is it even possible? I would imagine I tunes would recognize the different ipod and function properly. Although any purchased files [m4p's] might not copy over to the new pod but ripped mp3's should work fine. I believe I did do this once or twice with a Razor Cell phone that had itunes built into it with no problem. please advise if you can....

  • Can I use two Macs with one iTunes library?

I currently have an iMac with my iTunes library stored on an external drive, and a shiny new MacBook Pro waiting for me at the Apple Store. If I transfer my entire library from the external drive to a new MacBook, can I still access my library seemlessly on my old iMac [possibly using Home Sharing]? I would like to use both computers to access the same content, in an office and then mobile setting.
Also, if I continue to make purchases on my old iMac from Amazon or eMusic, is there a way to automatically store/transfer those on the new MacBook, the same way they are automatically stored on the external drive now?
I do have the capability and plan on connecting my external drive to my AirPort Extreme after the transfer, if that makes any difference.

See I wouldn't want to necessarily make a copy, but rather copy the library itself; so it is no longer stored on the external drive, and it's new home would be the MacBook Pro. I was wondering if I could access the MacBook library from my iMac the same way I access the external drive on my iMac. Or if I'm overthinking the Home Sharing service and really have nothing to worry about.
I do have my entire library in the iCloud, and am a Match subscriber, but it is important that I have the songs actually stored on my MacBook so I can access them when I am without an internet connection.
